Just as you started singing, a light rain began falling outside my window, adding that certain atmosphere perfectly befitting for ending a balmy end-of-summer night. Thank you for the lovely tune.
Magnificent performance of a magnificent song. Beautiful guitar playing in the spirit of John Martyn's and fine interpretation of the lyrics. Great! - Viveca
Great playing there Ian, bluesy feel with precision...hey, fine vocal too , neat pull-off's and just enough , keeping all in context....much to be admired there...... Jim
Cheers again Jim. Ive heard a few versions of this, but JMs still sounds the best to mi ears, yet to hear Marvin Gayes. Nina Simones is damn good. This was more a jazz tinged blues version than most, which are jazz pieces but tinged with blues. These standards are beautifully constructed.
Many thanks Viveca for your appreciation. Your comments always lift my tired soul ;-) The lyrics, I learned them as a story, what came out slightly different, but made sense to me! Vi ses ..Ian
Many thanks for the appreciation Jon, feedback on tone and feel much appreciated, I think the open strings give good tone despite electric rather than acoustic.
Bloody hell Ian, what are you working for? Get retired and hit the road. This is great, just found it today, on a flying visit back to YT. You Aad Geordie mate not dead yet... Mike.
This one..I felt pleased with..I usually dont get too chuffed over mi own stuff, once Ive worked em out, but this one in my mind I was chuffed with. Still, other folk can decide. As to specs, losing em..dunt mention it to Karen here..sore point..she reckons I must've lost about a year o mi life looking for em..her about three or four.
Damian, ..how the hell are you...not been utubing lately. By the way, album not forgotten, rerecording by some ( me also) occuring. Release sometime later in year all being well.
Mike, you know, if you were a svelte South American woman, with lovely legs n gorgeous eyes, I think you might actually secuce me ;-) You know its your life, pottering in t' garden, travelling the folk circuit like a wandering masterless samurai that I envy. Uni work has lost its appeal for me lately, tis true. Unless something remarkable happens tho, still need some financial security so I can retire! Unless...you got any South American looking Geordie sisters?
