    The hairdryer hack is sick. Haven't ever considered that before but it makes all the sense.

      And if you ever in an ice cold place, you can use a hairdryer to heat up your sleeping bag and then get into it. Better than an electric blanket.

    Just a comment from my list. Air compressor. Bug spray, battery pack to start the bike, it’s a life saver and can be used to charge phone and cameras if needed. Zip ties, multi tool knife, sun block.

      Absolutely! I have the air compressor and might have a battery charger. I think I lost it though. Need to check that. Zip ties and duct tape definitely!

    The Speaker is something I struggle with because it's so awesome to have it, but it is bulky. I carry a Boom 3. Probably similarish size. What about shoes/boots? For me those take up a lot too because I want to be comfortable but also have options.

      That’s funny you mention the speaker. I was just looking today at buying a smaller one to minimize the space and weight currently I have the JBL charge three but I’m looking at one of the new smaller ones. I’ll probably wait a bit for something super small and awesome to come out.

      As for footwear, I just have my motorcycle boots, a pair of sneakers and a pair of flip-flops. That’s it

    My last ride was from Miami to Thailand -- crossing water only from Toronto to London, England. Otherwise, continuous land crossing. Merino! I can say that 100x. It is the wonder material. Warm, cool, fast drying, thin and comfortable. You can scrap every piece and replace with merino. Also, I did not have one flat along the way and I did about 60% asphalt and 40% off-road through some crap environments -- what happened to your tires? In 2018 I went from Columbia to Ushuaia and back up to Punta Arenas then shipped my bike back home. I plan on doing the ride again -- this time from Miami to Ushuaia. How was the ride from Los Angeles down to Columbia? Also, how difficult was the crossing from Costa Rico to Columbia?

      Yes, I won hundred percent concur about the marina world. Actually don’t have any, but most of my gear is synthetic. Definitely a life saver!
      I can’t believe you didn’t have a single flat. I must’ve had almost a dozen with three or four happening in one day 🤣 sounds to me like you’ve slaughtered a gazillion miles. Well done! That’s pretty hard-core. I think I’m on a much slower train. As much as I love to ride, I really enjoy settling in and living and places to really absorb the culture.

      Actually, I flew my bike from Panama City to Bogota Colombia. It’s pretty common. The shipping is extremely complicated and doesn’t save you much money. Also takes up a lot more time - which I didn’t have. Definitely recommend flying it since it was extremely easy and eliminated a ton of paperwork. My only advice, is that you were the first person at the DIAN in Colombia. when you go to pick it up, otherwise you’ll lose half the day.

    Tool kit?

    • @Terra-Moto
      @Terra-Moto  Рік тому +1

      Absolutely. I have a basic KTM one. The only thing I don’t carry are tire levers which I’m still looking for. Hard to find here in Ecuador.
