- "Urgrund" is the first song of the album 'Die Berge' by Paysage d'Hiver.
"Die Berge" (the mountains) deals with the last journey of "the wanderer" in the realm of Paysage d'Hiver. This journey leads "the wanderer" to the top of the mountains in order to transcend into the next form of beingness.

There is NOTHING comparable that is able to conjure such an atmosphere than PdH in my opinion. I cannot describe how much I admire the art that resides within this music. Thanks Winterherr - What a Genius!!

Great song! The atmosphere is still there while sounding unique compared to the other PdH albums. It sounded somewhat like Moloch up until 12 minutes and then onward sounded like something off of Nacht. It's obviously not the same though considering the different production, and the fact the composition seems to be more "developed" on this song. I can't wait for the full album to be released. Wintherr does make it sound like its his last project with PdH though 😔.

Listened to the whole song, and it for sure is better than whatever the last record was trying to do. Not as good as the "demos" (real albums to most fans). Looks like the lost in the howling wind blizzard forest sound is a thing that will live on forever in past albums.

Yeah, kinda sad. At least we will get a Dark Space V in the next months/years, so Wintherr isn’t completely done.
@@Heide007 I’m not a massive fan of Darkspace but I like the cosmic atmosphere. I’ll take it. And don’t write off the possibility Paysage D’hiver sees a rebirth in 10 years.

To be fair, Paysage D'Hiver had songs in 1998 that sounded similar to Darkspace, like the song Moloch for example. I think the "former magic" you are talking about is the fact that the demos had rawer production and more synth usage. I personally found magic in this song, so I hope you find it when the album is released.
