    I do wonder how things transpired in reality. He's quite a remarkable man to be able to see through the truly despicable elements of her character to the sad, broken woman inside. It's just such a sad story.

    Imagine how bad the fights could have been between her parents for her to imagine that the stuffed baby reindeer would help protect her from the toxic environment. Then she finds a man that gives her that same feeling of being safe and she desperately tries to hold onto him but her twisted mind altered from a toxic environment in a developing stage of life just ruins that. This is why we have therapy/ counseling. We help to balance this so we can function and understand. Great movie. Very enlightening for many I’m sure.

    Not enough credit given to Ólafur Arnalds for this amazing composition.. what a beautiful piece to end that show.. this scene left me speechless.. how could I felt some sympathy for her after all she has done? I think we're all human and deep inside she was suffering and needed help the most.. always hope people get the help they need ❤

    Great acting. Can't say I felt too bad for her after everything she did, but I always enjoy it when you see the curtains fall back on a monstrous character like this and you see something remotely emulating humanity. Considering how the protagonist in this show had been seen with many of his flaws, but was overall a good person. It was a good mirror to see this awful human being be treated with the same layer of depth and realism.
    Still a psychotic nutcase, but this scene more makes one feel a bit of sympathy. It's a nice touch that they linked a mental health organisation at the end too, no one is born bad, they just turn out that way if things are left untouched. Great show, a bit weird, but great. I'd recommend.

      i didnt think she was a monster, she was a broken human being, a woman whos incredible intelligence went agaisnt her her whole life, she was top of her class at lawyer university, but in the end her traumas made her use that obsessive academic intelligence to fabricate a very vivid fantasy that was better than her real traumatic life. life broke her, i think it goes to show how tragic her story is, and how we are just byproducts of our life circumstances, she wasnt a monster, she was just a victim of life's circumstances and that made her seem like a monster, but in reality all monster are born from trauma and hurt.

      @@oliverjones2426 The reasons are always there to justify why we are the way we are. But at the end of the day, she made someone else's life miserable because of her obsessions. Mental illness isn't something we can lean on, I think she's someone who clearly needed help, I'm not saying I think she's evil, just what she did was monstrous, attacking his personal friends, family, all to get to him. There's no excuse for that.

    Martha is proof you can be hurt, hurt by others, had a rough life, a hard past, you can be broken, vulnerable and in need of help with no one to give it to you. But just because you are all that. It still doesn't mean you can get to drag others down with you and get them hurt just because you're hurting. And that's what she did to Donny.

    The way she said the meaning behind the nickname, and right after "I hugged it when they fought, and they fought a lot, you know?" Just broke me. The whole time i thought she was just a regular, crazy, obbesive stalker and then knowing that he reminded her of the one thing that meant her whole world as a child and the only thing that mattered to her was that reindeer that looked like him is most reason why she was so obsessed with him and knowing how genuinely sad that was, because she wasn't crazy, she just wanted something to remind herself of that best moment that she had a long time ago. Truly depressing.

  • @riskalmessiah

    Baby reindeer is a metaphor used here to represent her comfort against adversities. And to call him her Baby Reindeer comes to show how much he meant to her with all the things that happened in her past, and having his presence in her life now paved a future that she had long sought after: love ans security. Now that we know the backstory of why she called him Baby Reindeer, take back to the court scene where she was charged and sentenced to imprisonment, she cried out Baby Reindeer a few times not to call to Gadd but was in actuality to refer to her toy Baby Reindeer as to comfort herself internally.

    OK, I just discovered this thing about a minute ago, so please explain this to me. Is this a series that sets up a female stalker character only to make her relatable in the last episode? Is this a WHOLE FUCKING MULTIMILLION DOLLAR PROJECT conceived, written, organized and executed with the singular focused intent to send the message that "this whole stalking thing that we feminist creators have been telling you is SUPER FUCKING WRONG for the last 20 years or so, well, it is actually OK when a woman does it"?

    • @freem8son86
      @freem8son86 5 місяців тому +52

      That couldn’t be further from the message of the show. It doesn’t absolve her actions at all. It’s about how the main character is so hurt by what’s happened to him that he was getting something from the stalking situation himself and now he sees something of himself in her.
