I wish it would add an ammo carrier position (preferably allow a rifleman to just mount a bipod'd MG gunner like they were an emplacement) that could increase barrel swap speed and carry more ammo (with actual belt lengths).
Hopefully the Pacific coming to Squad 44 will help this game compete with HLL more. Looks like a lot of good changes are on the way and I’m amazed that they’re trying to fit all this stuff in
Hell let loose had the niche all to itself while post scriptum died and rotted away, yet to this day you can't zero your rocket launchers/ AT projectors, they had the ball on an empty field and they still dropped it
I would really like support roles like MG assistant rifleman that carries SOME extra ammo and a few extra mg barrels and a MG ammo bearer where he doesn't have barrels but just carries A LOT of mg ammo. Aset up like this almost automatically makes a fire team. Or AT support that carries more rockets (rather than the resupply system they have now) I feel it would encourage more unity in a squad and more self explanatory jobs to what your role is relieving the squad lead of some micromanagement.
Actually one thing they need to fix ASAP, which is the "bipod" for machine guns. The problem is still sink under ground and in some areas you can't place them. That's my only issue
To all bruv's complaining about the game graphics, mate my shitty pc doesn't even run this damn game lol. But I have enough experience with Unreal Engine to appreciate the work they've been putting into this. All the maps they've revamped look miles better than how they did before. The lighting and models could get some love definitively, but maps in Squad 44 are much larger than HLL maps, and this brings a whole list of problems: Both games repeat assets everywhere, but HLL has the benefit of being closer quarters, which allows for a quick change of "style per area" ( like Karkov or Stanligrad gradually going from rural to urban ). Squad 44 has a much larger area to cover, which makes it that much more difficult to pay attention to detail while not repeating assets so frequently. ( Take a look at HLL train tracks in Carentan, its a nasty sight to see, won't be fun for your GPU either ) HLL focus is at having more detail at urban areas, open field are pathetically bland, corn fields are extremely taxing on performance while usually lacking a lot of detail, Squad 44 on the other hand has a lot of open fields, so while they don't look great either, it's much prettier and refreshing to look at, as opposed to the interiors that are really lacking. As mentioned before, Squad 44 maps are huge, and having the same quality for assets as HLL requires a monumental amount of effort going into balancing performance & quality
I love how every UA-camr is glazing the game (rightfully as they should) but none of them speak of the performance issues that have plagued the game since the updates started rolling. It literally ran better when it was post scriptum and we all know how bad the code was for the game, which low key confuses me
I haven’t noticed much of a performance difference but I haven’t been playing the game religiously. I’ve just dipped my toes into and it seems to be on a good track in terms of new content, updates, bug fixes, etc.
@@IronHeartGamingYT oh yeah, it’s definitely gotten worse for the not so beefy setups, mostly cpu limitations. Most matches start great but slowly start to degrade and become stuttery messes. I think someone in their discord did some testing with graphs to represent the fps drops before and after the updates. Love that it’s getting content again but I can barely play the game anymore.

Thats a community problem. Most players who try this game come from hell let loose. They are used to a very arcady and gun run like game. This game takes patience, tactics and communication. Which HLL players know nothing about.

I like the look and feel of hll more based on the clips i see, but competition is never a bad thing. I also like the UI and graphical interfaces a bit more on hll. The squad 44 stuff feels/looks a bit cheaper or something. I"m not sure why.
Squad 44 have improved the graphics quite a bit but HLL is probably the better looking game but then again nice graphics aren’t the be all and end all.
For me, the features are very appealing to me. Sure the graphics are not as great but a lot if the features that HLL players have asked for are in Squad 44.

Peeing on a hot barrel only makes the barrel stink like hell. And a spontaneous and drastic temperature change (like suddenly bringing it in contact with water) will likely render it useless.
It would be nice if they could add a ton of voice lines and add some round start and end music and stuff. Just to hype everyone up a little I guess and get everyone immersed in it.

Contact tech support on the Squad 44 Discord. I think some people who are friends with Nano (a big UA-camr) had a similar issue with not being able to download the game but they have fixed it for them.
I tried to play yesterday. The game looked crap and was laging and stuttering like f.... everywhere. Squad looks and runs good. I have decent performance in HLL, RDR2, Cyberpunk. etc. But NOT in Squad 44. HLL looks and runs 10x better than this. Tried a bunch of tweaks but it was still unplayable. So I don't understand the hype, not yet. But I see UA-cam videos looks great. I'll try it again if they manage to fix the performance issues.
I much rather see Japan x British commonwealth on Burma, Indonesia, Malaya than seeing the generic Iwo Jima (presumably, next is gonna be Tarawa and Okinawa) once again, like every single game that takes place in the Pacific is always the same battles. If they have to shoehorn US on every official update, why not add the fall of the Philippines at the beggining of the war? Just wanted something refreshing for once, like they did with Chapter 2 and Mercury
There is definitely a fatigue of US in WW2 in the European Theatre. WW2 in Europe was 80%+ Eastern Front. The battles that happened there are so insane. The thousands of Thermopylaes fought by the Waffen SS and Wehrmacht forces are a testament to how brutal that theatre was, yet everyone only ever talks about Stalingrad or Kursk and knows nothing about the other battles.
Some under represented battles of the Pacific would be cool but the US is probably also the largest player base of this game so it kind of makes sense to create US vs Japanese content.

What about every minor country that took part in battles that could be added into the PS style of game play, like Romania, Brazil, Poland (1939 vs USSR and Germany), Hungary, even Vichy France. Want an idea for a map that they can use the USSR in a refreshing way? The Bersagliere fight over Stalino (current Donetsk), Italy x USSR, 1941 A way to add Romania: Fighting over Odessa in September 1941 A series of maps to use the US in a refreshing way: The fall of the Phillipines at the beginning of the japanese invasion (but I guess this wouldn't count because "nOOo you can't have US without Garand ping nOoOO" right?) Add Brazil as an american subfaction (its basically US without Garands and a different uniform, but same M1 helmet and winter wool coat) and have they fight over Montese and/or Collechio (1945), facing the wehrm@cht, and as irl, they use some Italian weaponry among them due to italian remanents of the "old regime"

There were basically no american servers still on, most of the players were european, mainly german and french players, followed by british and italians. Each to their own. Although if you want to stop playing an arcady mess thats got devs that dont listen to their players and butcher all their updates, you should try Squad44. You can always refund it if its not to your liking.
I think it's too late. Doesn't matter what they add to the game, they haven't grown their player count in months, there are only 2-3 servers with players in at peak times in the EU. It's mid-day Saturday as I post this and only a single server in Europe has any players on it (7/98). They need to put it on deep discount and market the hell out of it if they want to make this profitable.
Especially not when most people who will test/buy it will be hell let loose players. Their used to arcady playstyles. Thats the opposite of what squad44 is. Seen lots of HLL players bitch about how its too hard

The player count is at 660 on a Saturday afternoon. HLL is at 5000, and squad is at 14000. Not really a comeback imo

I mean the rifleman has an ammo box he can just place next to the mg. so when the mg runs out it can just pick up the box

The only thing that really needs a hotfix is the game performance at 100 players. If they do that, they can take their sweet time fixing the rest.

It is not dead. Official development has been restarted and mods are still being produced for the game by independent modding teams.

I agree, been playing this since the 1st beta versions of Postscriptum were launched and it's getting better with each update since it's Squad44
the movement, camera, and sway changes by OWi have made it palpably worse and stuttered performance

It is worth a punt when it’s on sale, it’s got a lot going for it.
Try it on sale, its cheap. HLL is usually a shitshow. Squad44 makes you feel like you're working with your squad & team

There were quite a few full EU servers after the latest content updates. I think Squad 44 can still compete with the likes of Hell Let Loose.
As soon as the pacific update drops, the playerbase will increase. So many player want to see the japanese in any WW2 shooter.
