- The 2020 MG 6 Trophy is a compact sedan from Morris Garages in the Philippines. As a sedan, it thinks different, with its lift back design and a very stylish exterior that doesn't come up short in the style department. For P1,188,888 it does make a great case in the segment, and it even comes equipped with a 1.5-liter turbocharged motor that produces 164 hp and 250 Nm of torque making it a capable performer.

Owned one for almost 2 years. Good handling, good performance, surprisingly reliable. Goes up to 220 kph if u floor it. Comfy and couzy. Like it or not, chinese cars are getting better

Overall feel is that features are very similar to a current gen Kia Forte GT. Just slightly less HP because of the 1.5T instead of the 1.6T that the Kia has. Front grill looks like an Acura. Headlights remind me of a Mazda. I like that despite being a sedan style it opens the back like a hatchback which is super functional coupled with the foldable seats. The jerkiness in traffic is to be expected of the DCT transmission as the bite point of the first gear tends to be around 10 km/hr. Something I noticed in my Forte5 GT. I just let the car in front of me have a head start because the car likes having an acceleration runway. Can be quite annoying in the Philippines when drivers just cut you off when you have a bit of space at the front. Cruising is fun because you get to use your brakes less as the car gradually slows down on its own when you let go of the gas pedal. Unlike CVT's that tend to maintain speed for longer since there are virtually no real gears.
By allowing a car's length gap between you and the car in front of you before closing it in is how a DCT should be driven. Crawling the car in traffic at 1st gear means that the 2nd gear is already being clutched in in anticipation for the shift and is generating heat. This means that the even number gears' clutch suffers premature wear.

Can you tell the facts about the DCT? It's my favorite transmission.
I am a MG6 owner in China, I can tell you that the DCT in this video is still a bit disappointing. The problem is when you're driving in a low speed over a 5 sec, like waiting for the traffic light in line, MG6 can't handle it very well like the Japanese car. MG6 is like always preparing to rush out. It makes people in the car feel “abrupt". But MG6 can definitely push your back if the road is available. But the car in this video is the 2nd gen of the new MG6, the 3rd gen has released, it should be arriving your place soon. The new one equipped with WDCT, which is smoother than the DCT. However the WDCT has slower transmitting, so...... you'd better have a try for both.
