I'm an amateur photographer, and I this has been one of the best purchases I have made camerawise. I got the R6 over the R5 and sold my 70-200 F4 as well. Totally worth it. The pics from this lens have something that few other pieces of glass can provide. The gorgeous fall-off and enormous amounts of bokeh it provides plus the absolutely reliable sharpness at F1.2 are so great to have and many pics have something special that you can't easily get otherwise. I wanted an RF 50 1.4 thats good to quite good, around 1000 bucks and around 500 grams...
Love this lens. Had to sell it because it really finally broke the camels back when it comes to my carpal tunnel syndrome. My work requires me to do fine movements so having this beast doesnt help. I do miss the 1.2 look. But im definitely more looking forward for the 35mm 1.2 or 1.4😊
I just got mine a few months ago. I love it! I kept the RF 50mm 1.8 for more Casual shooting if I still want my full frame camera. otherwise, I use a fuji X-T20 that I got a year ago used with some of the smaller primes for my casual/personal shooting.
When I was a Canon shooter, that 50mm 1.2 was my absolute fav! Now a Sony shooter, my Sony 50mm 1.2 is my fav. There is just something ‘extra’ about a 50mm 1.2. If you know… you just know.
