This video was pretty big on MTV back in the day. Very prevalent on alternative radio. The whole album is fantastic.

The only reason I'm here is this album just turned 30. Still a staple of rotation today.

Helmet! Excellent choice. Unsung is the most accessible song on this particular album. The Rest of the songs are bone - crushingly heavy. The leader of the band, Page Hamilton, started out studying jazz guitar if you can believe it

And was part of the group "Band of Susan's", I just found that out. The man has a wide repertoire!
Always wanted to get this album but never got around to it, will have to remedy that.

From "The Crow" soundtrack you can get a great song from Helmet called Milquetoast . That's how I discovered Helmet.

Thanks, I was going crazy not understanding why it sounded familiar! Milktoast is on the CD, but has a love of similarity.. I love that soundtrack!

Love this band. Try my best to see them when they are touring in the UK. Saw them just before covid, in my home town. Wonderful. 'Wilma's Rainbow' next, please.

Damn...this brings back memories...I was 22 when this came out...living in my first apartment and ready to conquer the world...lol...Just saying some stuff that others have noted...this whole album is amazing. Worth checking out is also the previous album Strap It On and the following one Betty....as you note the guitar and drum interplay sets up a dynamic that hooks you in. Very kinda Zeppelin....think of The Wanton Song. Unsung got a huge amount of radio play when it came out....at least in my area....Ontario, Canada. I highly recommend the title track of this album and loved seeing your reaction to this. Great stuff as always! And I also thought when I first heard this that the vocal reminded me of Ozzy....lol....

A great song for introducing someone to harder music. This was huge when it came out. Check out the whole album when you have time, you won't be disappointed! Thanks, man.

@@charlieo.possum5501 I clearly remember this tune but the name Helmet isn’t familiar. I guess I thought it was a cross between Ozzy and some alternative or alternative metal band (like Godsmack or Red Hot Chili Peppers) - some hybrid between those bands. But I def hear an Ozzy part before it goes alternative sounding 🤷🏻‍♀️. Somehow I slept on the band name I guess. Happy to fill in that gap. Lol 😝

Hi Nick, I think maybe my musical tastes have mellowed with age....Says me who listens to Devin Townsend !! ...I'm a contradiction in terms ... I listen to a lot more smooth jazz than in my youth, which was very rare. Like you it was Pink Floyd & The Moody Blues & Yes. I do love rock & heavy metal but it's a case of, I know what I like ... don't say it ... [ Its in your wardrobe ] [ Genesis song ref' Nick ] Lol ... Anyone heard the song "Fire" by Krokus ... That's the heavy metal I like !! Ok I've just seen another of Nicks > Lost Horizon. Going to check that out next. Byee Jim X

Cool band that I actually need to listen to more. A friend showed them to me in high school and I downloaded a few songs and really liked them but never ended up checking out any more of their stuff. No particular reason, I just found other bands that piqued my interest a little more at the time. I think it’s time I finally listen to at least this album in full.
    Thanks Nick 🤘

Part of the reason your comments are mostly positive is because the both of you are so very open minded. As someone famous (not sure who) said, “the mind is like a parachute - it works best when open”…

To die unsung would really bring you down, although wet eyes would never suit you. Walk through no archetypal suicide; "die young" is far too boring these days.
