Well, like in Shining Armor's case, Flash Sentry had to be characterized and individualized, so in holding such a unique position at the princess summit, he had to be distinguished from all the other Crystal Guards, and so, was. In line with my headcanon, his armor was not 'enchanted'.
I've always wondered about this. Thanks Shadow. Your channel looks great so far! You should get a new mic after a few videos, and maybe an 100 sub special! you're getting close!
Building off this headcanon: instead of their coat color being based off their real color, it's based off of what division in the royal guard they belong to, and their wings/horns are given to them as they rise in rank. The ones that have both wings and horns are the highest ranking officers.
Although I don't always agree with your headcanons, you do always make a good argument for them. 2:58 I don't think he was being sworn in during that scene. The lyrics in the song right there say "We shared our dreams," and he looks quite a bit younger there too, so I think that was just to show his desire to be a royal guard and he's just imitating them.
I agree with your headcanon, other than the 'coat color' thingy. I personally think, the armor spell decides the color for them, depending on race. For OC guards that don't have coat or mane changes, I pretty much think sometimes the armor spell glitches, and the armor instead conforms to their colors (like my OC in my picture). Also, Shining Armor wasn't being sworn in in that flashback. It was him and Twilight by where the Royal Guard often are, and he was simply living his dream. If he were being sworn in, there would have been another high ranking official. Another thing, the Lunar royal guards aren't enchanted; they're literally bat ponies.
I think for the most part your headcanon here is entirely accurate. It is after all the only solution that makes sense aside from cloning and we all remember the last time the powerful overlord had a clone army... So since I don't think Celestia is a tyrannical dictator, we can all agree that the enchanted armor is the most likely solution for the identical guards. Also bro-hoof for the 1984 reference. (\
You probably wont see this in your inbox of many comments, But Im totally supporting your channel! subbed, and Im looking foward to more videos from you! Also, you might want to get a new mic... Thanks for looking at this :)
I think of it as one of two ways really, animators got lazy (which is a awful thing to say since they would have to design a whole new line of ponies as royal guards) or (so) I think royal guards of Equestria all look the same because they are viewed to all be the same. I may not be able to put it into words rather well, but hear me out. They are given pretty much the same face, body type, eyes, and even gender. They don't stand out because they act as a background, they are trained to be guards that focus and speak when needed, and follow the commands of the Princess and Princes of Equestria. A good comparison would be Kill la Kill, most to all of the one-star students are members of a club and all look the same. They have shown both male and female, but still staying pretty much the same either for certain clubs or overall. They aren't important characters, so they blend in to one another. Despite it impossible to be all twins or a hive of clones, the story that's trying to be told and doesn't want your attention taken. So the one-star students/royal guards would all look the same to be flatter background. All in all, symbolism. They act as one unit; therefore, they are seen as the same. Which would explain why some guards are noticeable when looking different, such as Shining Armor and Flash Century, they are know personally by main characters as their own characters so they are seen as such. Though your idea of enchanted armor is pretty well thought out, I like it. :3
makes sense so where is the bat armor or was it becasue luna was close to them er go blended them to her liking celestia might be more powerful then her she had the sun and the moon for 1,000 year'z
Actually, both names are correct. Funko-Hasbro merchandise sells him under the name "Doctor Whooves" when he's large or sold on his own while the Funko minis are called "Time Turner". Same pony, but with a tie on.

I mainly agree, I only have one thing to add:
The spell do not have to be attached to the armor, but may be added before the armor is put on.

You need to do more head cannons they are AMAZING!!

This makes a lot of sense!
So the armor is race-bending, and it can artificially create alicorns. What a sick piece of metal.
503 with twilight and the royal guard or he just thought she was pretty and was interested
cloning is canon, via mirror pool, i think they just copy the ideal stalions and make an army of clones

It's Flash Sentry. Please don't sling shit on my comments towards other users without checking your sources.
I like the video, but you need to use some noise reduction. The audio hurt my ears!
