damn. i wish i was already grown up that time and could have seen it live. I was only 7 years old, watching all of it on the tv. Such great races, gt1/gt2 was truly awesome. Along lmp900 etc..
At 14:30 commentators talk about GTR2 game. I still have the game installed in Win10 (with xp compatibility activated) and have a lot of fun with this amazing cars. Thank you for upload!!!
He said it's the most phänomenal Racing games ever produced, and even the graphics aged it still is one of the best racing games out right now. Running 100 Cars in a 24h Race with changing light conditions with somewhat changeable weather (would love a dynamic weather) and a fully customizable grid from cars to teams, liveries and drivers, fully costumizable HUD and Layout is something, not many games have today. Have i mentioned the mod support?
550 built by Prodrive UK 575 built by Ferrari itself. It's just 550 by Prodrive got better overall package than 575 by Ferrari. And, 550 by Prodrive got the engine enlarged to 6.0 litre V12. Not sure about 575 by Ferrari. Some source said they kept the engine displacement, some others said otherwise.
Interesting indeed. Of course you would ideally go for a gearing that allows you to reach redline just before hitting the brakes, and that doesn't seem the case. Two random things right out of my mind: The choice of breaking point could be a bit conservative, being under pressure from trailing cars, but doesn't look that much relevant to be fair. But this being Monza, I also expect a setup that takes into account the varying level of drag depending on whether the car is in a slipstream or not. Going for a little longer gearing would translate in a speed advantage when drafting another car.

Gosh, thank you for this. Pre 2012, it is so hard to find full footage of these races
Thank you for sharing, great time for racing!
Thanks for the upload
Love the GT1 era
GT1 that were GT2 cars in fact.
Lister Storm
never understood why they have the ferrari 550's and the 575m's in the same competition yet the latter always seemed slower in these races

10:10 Interesting gearing in the MC12's. 5th gear so long they barely use 6th, seems way too long for me.

This is both true, though I'd argue that this is still too long? But hey, I'm not a race engineer, am I :) haha
Thank you!!!!!!
if I remember this was the last year FIA GT aired on Eurosport !! and think the year the series started to go downhill
Those Maserati were longer than Ferraris wait for another drivers championship
