I always thought it was the public being fine with a select few people having powers and knowing just enough about them to feel some sense of trust and safety. When it comes to mutants any rando can be one due to a random quirk of genetics and no one would know it until they lose their shit and take out an entire city block. It's the unpredictability of mutants existing and them not always being in full control of their abilities that makes people afraid, plus that and people tend to be stupid and fickle. They probably don't give much thought to what if any actual differences they're are between mutants and someone like Captain America or Thor. They know the first two are trusted heroes and the other is as far as they can see is just a dangerous minority group.

My favorite characters are Jean and Scott here, What they forget in Magneto's background in the cartoon, but not in the Comics is/ was that he is a Holocaust survivor and Jewish, That colors every thing he does and it's allowed to stand without criticism because to criticize it would be considered anti semitic.
In a later episode, we actually see Storm controlling the climate of an entire planet when some aliens screwed up their own climate badly enough that they were all going to die without help, and tried to get her to stay permanently. Honestly, the ones calling her a goddess are the ones who seem to have figured out what the score is.

CrazyGamerz On the inside, yes, they do, especially if their brain is a computer, and magnets exert force through plastic. In fact, there's no reason why Magneto could not rip their wires or computer brains out. Also, if a magnet or magnetic field gets strong enough, it will effect anything with charged particles, even materials such as plastic, which contains electrons as part of the atoms. There's also no reason why not just cause their brains to overload by inducing a power surge with magnetism.
Raskal Robbin Magnetism effects electric currents too, plus, in the case of strong magnetism, magnetic fields actually repel or push away non-ferrous metals. No reason why Magneto can't "force push" the Sentinels, even if they are plastic on the outside.

That sentinel with the clapback tho Lol 1:58
Why do people Love super heroes but hate mutants who are just super
Powered humans.
In reality though, humans would be scared of both and eventually Marvel realized it was kind've dumb too, which is how Civil War came about.
Lohan Cindy x men was based off racism between humans and mutants it’s a fact
Professor X is dr Martin lurther king and magnto is Malcolm X
The final decision = the final solution yes? Nicely and subtly done
Subtle? Lol.
@@odiumgeneris729Well, subtle for kids. 90s cartoons had alot of adult context that often when over kiss heads.
ever noticed how the sentinels and magneto have the same colors lol
senator R. Kelly..
Five SeveN 😂😂😂
I don't get it...
...man
Senator you must stop! Fifteen will get you twenty!
Radicaldanny R. Kelly. The guy who peed on a 15 year old girl
Great speech, but I feel Magneto could’ve elaborated just a tad bit more on WHY the people he saw as a boy were executed. Something as simple as saying “When I was a boy, I saw men executed. Women and children. Simply because they were deemed different than what was perceived as ‘normal’.“ Would’ve enhanced the speech & got Magneto’s point across better. Other than that minor issue, this is still really good stuff.
I hear u but i glad this series didnt spoon feed us.
Nah his speech was perfect, it’s not Upto him to let Senator Kelly know what he went through
It was the Holocaust. Magneto is Jewish. When he first debuted, World War Two was still fresh in the World's memory.
Magneto was referring to the Nazis in the holocaust
@@nonamenoname9096 But it wasn't revealed he was a Holocaust survivor until the 80's. Magneto didn't really become sympathetic until the Chris Claremont run.
"Ha! You cannot attack us, we are made of plastic!!"
Magneto: "Okay, but I am on a ship literally made of metal?"
Also Magneto: "Take that Barbie!"
Thanks for posting this ahhh so many fond memories of my childhood
This is Marvel before Disney.
Ricardo Pulido Canabal this is fox actually marvel cartoons always are shit except x men
Call Me Titus bro when wolverine and Spider-Man fought on the crossover 🔥🔥🔥and the crossover two parter came on at night on some type of special it was so flames
Fox owns the X-Men property fool, Disney has nothing to do with them.
Hint: Don't talk out of your ass without doinfmg your research first.
StygianWolf Actually at this time it was Marvel's animation studio working with Fox Kids (who aired the show)
20th century fox as a whole (owners of the X-Men film rights) have nothing to do with this show.
Oh no they hit him in his weirdly perfect abs.
"It takes a whole sentinel to scare most people."
I forgot how many great one-liners Wolverine had in this series.
Clearly those plastic Sentinels were able to disable Magneto by firing lasers from their wooden guns.
On this Earth they saved The Plastic Problem and dived the Sentinels into the ocean . Clean the oceans we can make a few sentinels against Magneto kids
This series was one of the best ever made!
Magneto : What about your wiring?
Sentianel : shut up
People are always saying "Stop! I've got a family! 😭" but they never consider how that's actually no excuse since it's their fault for starting that family without taking into account what Magneto was going to do to them.
Bruh no way magneto going down to 4 sentinels while he’s on a metal ship, just come on bruh.
Plus, plastic Sentinels shouldn't be immune to his powers.
I agree. Magneto has stood up to Nimod. No way these lesser versions of sentinels should have defeated him.
He didn't go down to four sentinels. He got sucker punched with the first laser, took out two of them while dazed, got blind sided by a descending fist, then the scene cuts. The injuries we see on him and the damage to the ship don't match up with what we saw, implying the fight continued for some time after that point.
Just think about where that severed Sentinel arm that spooked Gambit came from. Definitely not from the two we saw Magneto take out on screen.
@@YouthRightsRadicalhe’s an omega level mutant. Full control over his powers. Not to mention the cable that grabbed senator Kelly seemed metal and not plastic.
I think it was plot armor that weakened him. Nonetheless still a great scene.
"This version of sentinels are made in China"
I could never understand how Magneto always looked so jacked when he never lifts a finger
Cause thats how their drawn in the 90s. See Spiderman
Dang the dude who played magneto did a great soliloquy.
The only episode of this amazing animated series in which I've se en blood.
Professor X's eyebrows are on fleek lmao.
Noriel Gonzales lmaoooo
On point you mean
“This entire ship is my weapon”
I’m so glad this is coming back!!
Magneto shouldn’t have wasted his time on his dialogue
He was caught monologuing.
He couldnt have known Sentinels was gonna attack his base or track him down
unfortunalty the creator wants magneto not to cheat, so they just made them plastic instead of metal.
Ofcourse there metal just creator dont wanna make magneto super strong and break them easily....
Magneto can sense metal
The Sentinel had the courtesy to explain why his powers weren't working on him. It was only polite to return the favor.
Too bad xmen movies didn't make these types of sentinels as big.
The coolest Sentinels are from X-men Evolution.
Stingerbillion
Even Magneto sucked in the movie.
@I they were still nowhere near as big as the one for the cartoon
"its magneto" "quick, finish him off" 😂
Hell yeah lmao
Magneto was right .
***** mutants are humans i thought
MAGNETO IS RIGHT....
blm
Robert Deffenbaugh magneto wasn't fake and he knew what was up, that's why he created his own island to get away from fake shit, co-exist ? Please, X was an ass kisser
crimson cucks lives too
Professors eyebrows though
😂😂
One the best series ever. Greatness.
The Magneto voice actor/voice is the best. Perfect for him
Pretty impressive making the wires and computer chops out of plastic. I didn’t realize that plastic was such a good conductor.
*"X-Men"* and *"Spider-Man"-* two of the best Marvel cartoons from the 90s. Perfect.
Dont forget BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES and i'll squeeze in Avengers: EARTHS MIGHTIEST HEROES as the last of a dying breed
@@leonardobraynen1524 *"Batman: The Animated Series-"* all time classic. When I first saw it in 1992, I was blown away by it. The fact that Harley Quinn came from that show makes it all the more better. Still stands the test of time.
Yeah. I'll throw in Batman's animated series and the Superman cartoon around the same year was legit. I still remember the episode in Superman when Darkseid invaded earth and Orion with the scuad rolled in to help earth. Sad ending to that episode tho if anyone remember.
@@juanramirez5898 i do. Am 38 so i watched live man. Ws sad but greater stuf happened like Justice League
I still watch all of these shows now. I get more out of these cartoons now than I did as a kid. They had the flashy superhero/supervillain powers to appeal to kids and the stories to appeal to an older audience. Amazing how well they have held up over the years!
Massive cloud trail of smoke
Storm: "Cyclops, look!"
Thanks Storm, I'm sure the driver of the ship would've missed that. Amongst a load of other simple cartoon antics but then, I suppose it was for kids.
It's the "wooden gun" thing all over again.
Every time they sent out Wolverine when they were going after Magneto, I was like WTF?
This series had a greater impact then every X men movies
I thought storm woman only controlled the wind, not the water! :D.... and I also liked the way the robot explained that it was made of plastic, and gave him a whole speech about it! LOL
Storm can create Equatorial heat, fog, mists, snow, rains , ice etc;. She merely blew the sea or ocean water to douse the fire. But being a pretentious character ( having Africans look stupid in believing that she's a" goddess " , come on, even Magneto and Emma Frost would not dare try to pull that on a White audience) makes me dislike her intensely. My favorite characters are Jean and Scott here,
What they forget in Magneto's background in the cartoon, but not in the Comics is/ was that he is a Holocaust survivor and Jewish, That colors every thing he does and it's allowed to stand without criticism because to criticize it would be considered anti semitic.
@@pmccoy5511 thanks, nice answer!... very well explained too!.👏👏👏
In a later episode, we actually see Storm controlling the climate of an entire planet when some aliens screwed up their own climate badly enough that they were all going to die without help, and tried to get her to stay permanently.
Honestly, the ones calling her a goddess are the ones who seem to have figured out what the score is.
"We're made of plastic, not metal!" The classic "The enemy misunderstands my power and is at a disadvantage because of it. I'd better correct them so they can get a head-start at countering me, instead of letting them wallow in their ignorance and using that to my tactical advantage" trope.
"Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake." - Napoleon Bonaparte
1:00 Magneto says "I flew to Washington", and my brain automatically assumes he meant that he flew onboard an airplane... and then we see him just electro-ball hovering there himself, lol.
like how he says Be Quiet with some authority
but isn't all electronics or robots have wires, motors made of metal, also if jet-boots were plastic the boots would melt if they fly.
Maybe it's some cool synthetic hard plastic that is a fire retardant shell...lol i donno i tried. thanks for comment and SUB
The boots could be ceramics. There does have to be some metal in the robot. In a fake world with mutants it's just another stretch of the imagination
CrazyGamerz Maybe it's made of a bullshitanium alloy?
Raskal Robbin
Magnetism effects electric currents too, plus, in the case of strong magnetism, magnetic fields actually repel or push away non-ferrous metals. No reason why Magneto can't "force push" the Sentinels, even if they are plastic on the outside.
So weird hearing Magneto being voiced by Blum when he's known as Wolverine.
Sentinels were terrifying as a kid. They would out of nowhere peel away a roof and go ham.
It’s not too difficult to destroy one sentinel but taking on a large horde is a different story.
magneto isn't limited only to manipulating metal
in fact, Magneto's power is to manipulate magnetic fields not metal.
Gotta love Sentinels having small talk with Magneto, before messing him up badly. 😂
Magneto saw what happened to his people back in the 40s and decided to take notes on what to do in the future to normal people.
