One of the most practical/doable meal videos I’ve seen. Definitely has variety. I’m only feeding one other person but boyyyy does he get bored of my easy meals quick. Adding all these!!
Hey! Just a friendly heads up that you aren’t supposed to latch down the lid on the crockpot while it’s cooking. It can crack the crock insert. I have the same one. The latches are just for when you need to transport food so it won’t spill. ☺️ everything looks so yummy!
For my homemade taco seasoning I use 1 tsp each of the following...... Chilli powder Garlic powder Onion powder Dried oregano Ground cumin Salt and pepper You can adjust it to your own taste xx
As much as I love hello fresh, I’m so happy to see a genuine what’s for dinner video! It’s realistic and stuff I would actually make for my family! Keep these videos comin!
I've been making your baked ziti since the OG days (back in the condo, I'm an oldie) and it's a die hard family favorite. But now I have to give it a try Frank's way, it seems right up my hubby's alley. Thanks guys!
My daughter has loved the old recipe for years, but I thought it was always a little dry. I'll have to change it up as well. Although a family favorite is her basil tomato pasta, ever made it?
There's a baked Ziti recipe that you shared a few years ago that is a staple in my home. Definitely need to try this one because my mouth is watering right now.
I found the best taco seasoning on Pinterest and it great bc you can always add more of one spice and it still comes out great! 1 TB cumin 1TB chili powder 1TB paprika 1 tsp onion powder 1 tsp garlic powder 1tsp salt
We also eat tacos once a week. There are tons of recipes on Pinterest for homemade taco seasoning. They all taste great and are better for you than the packets. I also add a tablespoon or two of brown sugar to my taco meat. Amazing!!!
I just started meal planning! Today is grilled hotdogs/brats & chips. Tuesday is chicken & waffles (hubbys fav) Wednesday is buffalo chicken wraps & French fries. Thursday is tacos & Friday I'm grilling burgers!!
🔴 Tip: Next time you are about to release the pressure, turn the valve and just throw a dish towel over it and the gravy or other liquids will not fly out and splatter all over everything.
You can sear your steak and onions in the instant pot too 😊 it took me soooo long to learn all the functions lol Love the dinner ideas I have been recording some of my recipes as well for my channel...I just need the time to edit lol
I'm sure you've gotten a ton of these, BUT, you can saute in the instant pot!!! Makes cleanup so much easier. There's a saute setting then you can switch to pressure cook, THEN if you want to thicken sauces at the end, you can take meat out and put saute function back on to cook a little longer. I did this last night with tacos :) Such a great video!
We do our tacos the same way except I make a creamy jalapeño sauce that I think you guys would LOVE! Here’s the recipe 1 jalapeño Cilantro 1 small can of the Herendez mild, green salsa 1 ranch packet 1/3 cup buttermilk 1 cup mayo Garlic (optional) So delicious on tacos❤️
Hi Britney & Frank! Really enjoyed this video. I love seeing grocery halls as well. I love your pioneer woman crockpot, I have the pioneer woman instapot & I still haven't used it. All these foods look amazing & I will be trying the bake ziti as well as the chicken one!! When I make tacos, I use cumin, garlic, onion, cayenne, black pepper, & old bay! These are all in powder form😊👍🏾❣
We do a similar creamy chicken rice recipe except I cook the rice on the stove in cream of chicken soup instead of water (do a small amount less rice then you would usually add to the water for a creamier texture”) You can use any cream soup. I fry up the chicken with olive oil, onions and garlic and a few different seasonings. Add in some veggies, whatever is on hand is fine. We like peppers, corn, broccoli. Sometime we do green beans, yellow beans and carrots. Then mix in the chicken veggie mix with the rice and add a little soya sauce. It’s my kids favourite!
I'm not sure if anybody else mentioned but with meat in the Instant Pot ALWAYS do at least 10 minutes Natural Release. After the counter reaches 0 it will count up. L1 L2, etc. Go at least to L10 then release remaining pressure. This ensures the meat is juicy and doesn't get tough. Pasta is my favorite so I'm going to try the Ziti for sure.
That pasta looks so delicious ! Does anyone else love to have the crispier, burnt pieces of pasta and cheese ! I love it ! 🤤 And the tacos 🌮 ! Tacos are always a favorite for most in my house, but I also have to modify it for my kiddos 🤦♀️ !
Hey Britney and frank! Love your videos on both channels! I make my own taco seasoning and it’s pretty easy. I don’t measure anything and just use equal parts of the following: cumin, paprika, oregano, Trader Joe’s chili lime seasoning, salt, pepper, cayenne pepper, and red pepper flakes. You can add less cayenne or totally omit for the kids. Enjoy!
We use cumin and Italian seasoning for our taco meat! Sounds weird but it's so good. We also use ground pork, but that's mainly personal preference, add in onions, garlic, beans, green chilies and corn!
I make the tacos all the time with the mango salsa but I switch to Tilapia sometimes and they are delicious too, you can season the tilapia with garlic , salt, pepper and paprika .
It’s not a seasoning tip for tacos, but i started adding corn and onion after the taco meat is fried before I add the seasoning and then i add a little bit of garlic powder and it’s amazing!
Quick tip for easy cleaning your crock pot. Leave pot in. Pour water a little over half way. Turn crock pot on high for a couple hours and wait for it to cool down.
Girl! For the tacos, salt pepper garlic powder and cumin!! And you could add a little red chili powder too! 😋 if you try it, PLEASE let me know how you like it!!♥️
so, my mom is a total instant pot maniac, she has 3 different sizes + a blender + Air Fryer lol Anyway, she has let that thing replace her oven...No joke...It has a slow cook setting, they also make a rubber release cover for the steam thinggy on the top which helps the steam come out without the risks of steam burn! also, you can make mac n cheese in less than 10 mins in that thing. Makes making mashes potatos so much quicker too! and rice.
My husband and I use mango from the cans that have them already cut up because we are horrible at picking mangos and sometimes we end up with only a little bit so a fun little hack.
Love the video!! It all looks so good! I know as mamas we run out of meal ideas and I get burnt out on the same things. One gadget we have bought that we use religiously now is a rice cooker!! Best thing ever and you can steam veggies while cooking rice so it’s a game changer and so easy!
Instead of using both marinara and the Alfredo there is a vodka sauce you can get it at Walmart possibly at target as well, it’s just the mixture without buying them separate!
The best taco life hack - put down a small tortilla on the plate then put your hard taco down. Once you fill the shell, pick up the wrap around the shell. Then when you bite into the shell, the wrap holds it all in place so you don’t make a mess. My dad even puts another wrap on his plate to catch the taco bits that fall.
If I make my own taco seasoning, I use: 1 tsp parika, 1 tsp garlic powder, half tsp ground coriander, half tsp ground cumin, 1 tsp dried oregano, half tsp chilli powder and however many chilli flakes you like. You can then make your own big jar of the mix.
You can sauté your steaks in the instant pot too :) , just click sauté and the temperature u want ... keep the lid off and sauté them once your ready to add everything else and cook it switch the setting to manual and put the lid on ;) ... ps it won’t blow up lol!
*Great looking dinners! I love the tipsy housewife's recipes, I'll have to try the round steak. I recently got a pressure cooker and have been loving it!*
With meat in the instant pot, you generally want to naturally release your pressure. It keeps it tender and from getting tough. What you were doing was a quick release. Certain foods that are high in starch will spew liquid like that when you quick release. This happens because when you release the pressure quickly, it causes the contents to boil and they foam up. Usually, letting the pressure release naturally for a few minutes and then going back to the quick release will make that stop.
I am attempting the ziti with your sauce mix, putting my own twist on it but im excited and got my inspiration from yall! more recipes/food menus please! lol love that you guys have this channel
Yay! More videos like this! I was intimidated to use my instant pot at first too, but it becomes second nature. It's such a time saver! As long as you lock the lid when it's cooking, you're good to go.
Just watched u guys for the first time. Love it. Definitely more cooking videos! Just lay a towel over your instant pot when releasing the pressure that’s totally normal
Baked Ziti is one of my new favorite meals! Also, cajun foil packets. Shrimp, sausage, red potatoes and corn on the cob wrapped in tin foil with a little olive oil, cajun seasoning and butter. Yum!!!
To avoid liquid coming out of the pressure release switch, do a natural pressure release. After the instant pot is done cooking and it automatically switches to keep warm setting, leave the pressure release switch in the sealed position. The pressure will begin to drop by itself which will take about 15-20 mins.
Don't be afraid of a pressure cooker you should try Mexican beef in their you can use steak shredd it up and use two packets of the olde Paso taco mix best shredded Mexican beef. Lamb shanks in the pressure cooker is to die for. Throw a tea towel over the steam release value when you let the pressure out saves the mess
Note with the Instant Pot since you said you were worried. The top won't open if the pressure hasn't been released so it won't just blow up. I am terrified of mine lol but have gotten more comfortable over time. Just to ease your worry. And yeah sometimes more than the pressure comes out of the valve.
Try sauteing garlic and onion with your beef and adding canned green chilies. It amazing! My kids don't notice the onion at all. Also if you can find the "La Tiara" taco shells those are fiiiiire.
Ive been making your original baked ziti recipe ever since I found your video. Tonight I tried the new version and omg it is amazing!!! Thanks for sharing :)
Taco seasoning i create (all to taste, i use a ton of each spice): chili powder, cumin, paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper! I don’t have amounts because i do it to taste and love it spicy! Definitely highest amounts of chili powder and cumin though lol
The instant pot is honestly amazing. I used to crock pot all the time and since im gotten tge hang of my ibstanr pot 2 years ago i haven't used it since!
Great recipes!! Love the instant pot! Just make sure the little silver circle on the top is fully down before taking off lid. It’s a safety thing and they cover it in the manual. I just UA-camd beginners guide for the instant pot when I first got mine. Very helpful
Can we make this a weekly thing?? Love everything about it!!
Also, use your mixer to shred your chicken! Super simple and easy!
One of the most practical/doable meal videos I’ve seen. Definitely has variety. I’m only feeding one other person but boyyyy does he get bored of my easy meals quick. Adding all these!!
I love that he’s a fireman and cooks. They are great cooks

Kristin K what?! I guess Ive been doing wrong this whole time. Lol I always latch mine!
Deanna H yes! I didn’t know either until I read the booklet it came with and realized I had been using it wrong 😆
Thisss. I happened to read the little booklet one day and realized I’d been doing it wrong! Lol 😳
Damn really ooops
I was thinking the same thing! Lol
For my homemade taco seasoning I use
1 tsp each of the following......
Chilli powder
Garlic powder
Onion powder
Dried oregano

Salt and pepper
You can adjust it to your own taste xx

Lol same!! I will try it this way too, but I think I’m gonna be a fan of the OG version. 💗😂
My daughter has loved the old recipe for years, but I thought it was always a little dry. I'll have to change it up as well. Although a family favorite is her basil tomato pasta, ever made it?

Yes please to more cooking videos!!! Everything looked amazing.
All you really need for a homemade taco seasoning is: chili powder, bit of cumin, garlic and onion powder, salt and pepper.
There's a baked Ziti recipe that you shared a few years ago that is a staple in my home. Definitely need to try this one because my mouth is watering right now.
Love grocery hauls and meal ideas!
You should start doing this as weekly video! I see lots of other channels do that and I love when you do cooking and grocery haul videos!
I found the best taco seasoning on Pinterest and it great bc you can always add more of one spice and it still comes out great!
1 TB cumin

Lisa Leblanc thank you!

So delicious on tacos❤️
The chicken rice looked incredible . Definitely making that this week 🌸💕
Definitely adding those tacos with the mango salsa to my dinner list this week 😍😍😍
This all looked so good. I have a rule with mashed potatoes, I use 1 tblsp of butter per potato. I figure that's what I'd use on a baked potato.
Watches while sipping on coke and rum and notices the White Claw in the background....CHEERS! Lol #momlife
I've got wine. Cheers!
I found your channel because of your new renovations.... I seriously love you guys! So authentic and real!! New subbieeeeee 💜

We use salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and cumin for taco seasoning. Cumin really gives the seasoning the traditional taco flavor.
Yes, love your meals! You fix normal food! I'm from the south and I loved everything y'all had this week. Please do more!
I absolutely love this channel and love the content!!

That chicken and rice looks really good. FYI, it’s a good idea to rinse your rice several times before cooking.
You and Frank are both good cooks! I never would have had the patience to make my own salsa when the kids were growing up!
The instant pot still scares the crap out of me!! I have only used it twice to make crab legs with my husbands help! It puts me on edge!!!
Everything y’all make is a hit 🙌🏾 God bless ❤️
I agree, make these as often as possible!! Love the ideas!!!!! ❤️❤️
Great recipes!! Love the instant pot! Just make sure the little silver circle on the top is fully down before taking off lid. It’s a safety thing and they cover it in the manual. I just UA-camd beginners guide for the instant pot when I first got mine. Very helpful
I loved this vid!!! Thank you for these recipes girl🧡🧡🧡
The chicken and rice looks so good.. I still love your recipe you did on the 3 cheese sausage and tortellini.. love your videos Britt and Frank ❤❤
I’m trying the baked ziti tonight! I love new recipes, please share more!
The instant pot is the best to cook rice and mashed potatoes! They cook so fast!
Everything looks delicious! Please keep doing what’s for dinner videos. They get me out of my usual dinner rut!
I'm definitely making that ziti!! Would love to see more videos likes this from y'all!
