FOR YEARS I've been saying VW needs to come out with a fully electric beetle with the body style of a 1967, just new and electric. It'd be cheap and fly off the shelves like candy.

I’ve seen the interior of the Ballet Cat! When I saw the huge dashboard and the forward swept windshield… a chill came over me. I saw that car before because I drove it. It was…. drumroll….the New Beetle!

They got so good at it that they made it even better than the original.
Hell, it's much better than the newer Beetle that even VW made recently.
And it's not the first time this happened as well.

There's no way that could be brought to the US. Look at the bumpers----those aren't up to US crash standards. There's a reason cars don't have metal bumpers anymore.

You fckkkss even destroyed the reputation of Suzuki because of those supposed "standards" that not even American brands follow properly or just cheat on and are even *FAR WORSE* than any of these Chinese cars in terms of safety.

Relax. It's powered by the same battery pack being used on Tesla Model 3. China produces 60% of the world EV battery pack, followed by Korea LG and Japan National.
Beetle weren't any more unreliable than anything else from the 60s and 70s, it's all relative to how you maintain your vehicle. ANYTHING can be unreliable. I have a 280zx that went through clutches and alternators but it never left me stranded. UNLESS you've owned a few brand new beetles then you have no room to speak on them. For example I've owned THREE kias and I hate them...you cant denounce something as unreliable when its over 50 years old lol
The original VW Beetle was one of the most reliable cars ever. I've had three of them, one that is still on the road after 50 years. Not reliable?

The size of this car is ridiculous…with a 2.9 meter wheelbase, this thing is bigger than the Audi Q3 and the porsche Macan, making it twice the size of the original VW beetle and close to some of the flagship Tatras of the 1940s…

The VW Beetle had it's returns, and the last modern one VW did was the best looking Beetle in my humble opinion. The Beetle had its gloryyears a loooong time ago, wanting that to return is foolish.
You can't make dead people alive. Each time has its great things, people need to stop the current wave of nostalgiaporn, they also do it with films you know... It needs to stop and let it stay in their timeperiod.
Create great things in the present or don't bother i would say...
