That was more or less a balancing feature. It made you think about how you used them. Against enemies like the grand jewel and melbu graham, it could backfire severely
First time i encountered him was a nightmare. Albert died so many times due to his weakness againts magic. The second time i played this game, Doel would hope he never be born lol as i threw a lot of magic items to him
I barely beat him last might. You were one level above me with the characters, I only had 2SP for the Dragoon forms, and I wasted them on Kongol, so most of this fight was without transformation. I had two KOs, Dart had enough HP to survive his death blow. I figured Id go out trying, but Dart's next combo was enough to finish the fight. I lucked the F*ck out
@@khroxas I don't agree that dragoons are not that useful. It's true that in the late game, dragoon damage is eclipsed by mastered ultimate combos for characters that are primarily physical attackers, but dragoon utility and healing spells are always useful. Ex: Blossom storm. Also, for characters that are primarily magic attackers like Meru, the dragoon is extremely good throughout the whole game. As for gameplay, I feel like they could have made enemy dragoon bosses operate in the same way as the player, with them mostly fighting in human form, only shifting into dragoon form for the occasional devastating attack. That would eliminate the glaring inconsistency between the duration they can remain dragoons and the duration the player can. Anyway, I haven't played the game in ages. Those were my thoughts on it as a child. I keep coming back to the music, though 😂
the tric is dont get bored dont get sleepy just save it and level it ip as much as you can cause is worthy i'll tell you and you'll feel comfortable without even using magics you'll see
gotta ask experience guys like me the most important is you cale level up fast beating the hidden special blue , green , parots and the golden Jar , and blue robot they will give tou somich points for a level up easy
i have that game i level up somuch that wen dart is ther he have 1,100 HP and the Emperror dont even make the ball just 2 turns and he is done i ment 2 turns in all 3
SAS - ch1v3 The best team was dart haschel and meru. Meru had a ridiculous heal, fastest character in game, and did the most damage towards the end with her final addition. Also high magic defense in a game where most of the bosses extremely damaging moves were magical Haschel was also fast and did ridiculous single target damage. Albert could be okish? But you have to make up for his weakness to magic and rose storm is really only good for Albert and kongol since they get hit the hardest by the bosses due to low magic defense. Haschel and meru also dust Albert in terms of speed even with the same items. Shana basically does no damage and meru is just as good at healing and shes faster with more damage so....yeah.
Shane Douglas definitely, shana wasn’t really that good. Although Rose’s astral drain didn’t heal much, it was life steal and sufficient when coupled with Alberts rose storm.
When you heard that boss music, you knew shit was about to get real.

i remember doel crushing me so i grinded until i maxed out the dragoon levels thinking i needed that to win haha.
There was never a way to revert from your dragoon before you used up your SP... that option would have been handy in longer more drawn out fights.

It always annoyed me that he could stay in dragoon form for the whole battle, but I could only stay in dragoon form for a few turns. Why? Why!??!?!??!

Dragoon forms are just useless. The existence of additions makes them a mere gimmick.
The battle system is not that complex than ff series has back there. Addition system is simple but it actually fun when i play it back in time.
