I really enjoy this video..I know very well this district as it's where Dutch and New Zealand embassies are (same building). If you go to the cafe at the top of the city hall annex you can have a bird eyes the whole Deoksugung palace. In the cafe there is also old photos of all the legations during king Gojeon time (Italian, US, British etc...)

In the ancient Korea (Chaoxian朝鮮 -Real historical name, Chinese territory and the Chinese regio before 1910). It was two different ethnic groups. (In 918-1910) 1.Chinese (Han Ethnic)(Wear color and pattern clothes) - Ruler and nobleman 2. Korean (White Clothes Ethnic)( Wear white clothes without pattern) - Civilians and slaves 1. Ruler and nobleman (Goguryeo高句麗 , Baekje百濟, Silla新羅 , Goryeo高麗, Joseon=Chaoxian朝鮮 ..): Chinese local officials and nobles (royal members, monks, scholars, soldiers, architects, technicians, and their families ...). They are Chinese (Han) and their descendants born in the local area. They have always wore China in China costumes. They speak Chinese language (official and Han dialect) and Chinese characters. They are Chinese officials and represent the Chinese emperor's governance of the ancient Korean Peninsula (朝鮮). Local Chinese officials (Chaoxian king朝鮮王) and Chinese nobles in ancient Korea (Chaoxian 朝鮮-Chinese territory). They all Chinese clothes (hanfu), headdress (hat and crown), silk cloth (including embroidery), soldiers (such as: defensive clothing, horses). Weapons (including cannons), Chinese literature books (including Chinese history, Taoism Buddhism), Chinese special architectural materials (including palaces and design paintings). Food materials (Chinese food and Chinese royal food), wooden wheels used, large military ships, etc. are made from other cities in China). 어제 아이와 함께 덕수궁을 다녀왔어요.압도감을 느끼게 되는 경복궁과 달리 고즈넉하고 아담한 느낌과 동시에 많이 슬퍼지는 곳이 덕수궁이아닐까 합니다.

덕수궁 후문 돌담길 은 주한영국 대사관 하고 바로 이어져 있어서 종종 행사나 특별한 일이 있을땐 한국근위병 과 영국근위대 가 전통복장으로 마주보고 서 있는 장면을 볼 수 있기도 합니다. 마침 내년이 한영수교 140주년이니 볼 수 있을지도 모르겠네요 ㅋㅋ
서대문역 근처에서 30년을 살았는데 저 병원앞 언덕이 돈의문 터였다는걸 처음알았네요 ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

1919년 3.1운동 당시에 저희 외증조할아버지께서 정동교회에서 독립선언문을 등사하셨다고 하네요. 아름답고 역사가 담긴 곳이지만 가족과 관련된 스토리가 있기에 특별히 기억에 남는 곳입니다.

저 정동교회 대단한 교회입니다. 유관순 열사와 김구 선생, 안창호 선생이 출석하던 교회로 3.1운동때 독립선언문 초본을 정동교회 파이프오르간 안이 숨겨놓았더랬죠
서울시립미술관이 과거에 가정법원이라 이혼부부가 마지막으로 걷던 길이 덕수궁 돌담길이었다는 이야기로 연인이 걸으면 헤어진다던데 전 결혼해서 잘 살고 있네요.. 분위기가 호젓하고 역사를 좋아하여 즐겨가는 동네였는데 타지로 와 자주 못가서 아쉬워요..
요즘은 해외 유튜버 채널들을 통해 한국에 대해 더 많이 배우는 느낌.
이번편은 엄청 흥미롭네요 매번 지나만 다녔지 이런 사실이 있는지도 모르고 살았었네유

제가 처음으로 혼자 여행가서 가장 기억에 남았던 곳이 덕수궁이죠. 생각하지 못했던 대한 제국의 흔적을 볼 수 있더라고요. 발전하려고 했지만 극복하지 못했던 역사를 보고 생각이 많아지기도 했습니다.
5년 가까이 정동에서 근무했고 지금도 근처에서 일하는데, 전혀 다른 시각으로 정동을 바라보니 매우 신선하고 유악합니다 😊
