Guess Who?! Woody Woodpecker

GUESS WHO?!?! hahahaHAAAha🎶IT’s #WOODYWOODPECKER! #drawing Woody! #walterlantz meant so much to me…. I learned to #draw as a small child watching him give #drawinglessons on his #thewoodywoodpeckershow on the black and white tvs in the little appliance store window( we didn’t have a tv when I was a baby) across the street from the diner in Winsted Ct where my single mom was a waitress. She would take me with her to work and give me a paper and pencil and tell me to draw the funnies in the newspaper, and sometimes she would have a couple of dimes and buy us a golden book or a coloring book that I could draw along with. We didn’t have any money, but she made me feel special, and rich, with these treasures. Then, When I was 10 years old, I saw Walter as a guest on the #ArtLinkletter show( by then we had a TV) and so I worked very hard and then mailed him all of my artwork in care of that show. A month or two later, the most famous #animator in the world wrote me back: “ Dear Guy, you have a lot of #talent for a ten year old boy. I believe, that if you keep on trying and never quit, and keep practicing like you are now, someday, you are going to be a successful #cartoonist.
