How to STOP this KILLER Golf Swing Move

  • Extension too early in the downswing restricts the rest of the motion and throws the low-point out of the golf swing way behind the ball! Here we went through a few drills and exercises with Liam to get his sequencing working more functionally - lowering the spin on his ball flight, bringing the low-point forward and increasing the control he had over his irons.
    As always a huge thanks to Liam for letting us share his ZEN Golf Mechanics experience with you guys!

    Hmm...this action is looking more and more stacked. Like the concept of extension through standing up on left leg. Don't agree that if you stand up 'too early' you run out of extension. Well, yes, sure if you do it the wrong way. But if you fire upwards through vertical left forces while throwing club downwards and THEN once you've reached the end of left leg extension, you continue through chest pivot up into finish.

    • @GRFGolf
      @GRFGolf  Рік тому +1

      You can make anything work to a degree - but extending too early throws out the low point and you're likely to struggle optimising that transfer of kinetic energy through to the golf club. If you try and extend really soon when throwing a ball this demonstrates it quite well 👍 appreciate the input!

    I've been at the range practicing my weightshift with my body to give me a better ball strike. I'm still a little inconsistent but improving. I think it's finally just clicked that the key move is to drop the left shoulder to allow extention as you pop. I cant wait to try this as I think this is key to bottoming out after the ball!!! Or as long as the result is okay then don't overthink it :) Speaking of overthinking it what is acceptable range of the in-to-out Club Path angle (not face) on something like Trackman? at 12 min mark is exactly what I do. Cannot get my weight onto left side while keeping left shoulder low. Mike Jacobs asked me when is the left shoulder lowest in the swing-i said at the top of backswing. He said no-it's at onset of downswing-this makes it very visible. My issue is the rear tilting of the spine from the 'death move". How do you get the lower body to get out of the way while left shoulder stays low at start of downswing!.
