No, no powder foundation for me at all. Too cakey for my eye area, which is the only place I ever wear my own custom mix liquid foundation with eye primer.
I only wear powder foundation and my brand of choice and has been since I was in my 40’s is bare minerals. It’s so light on your face , u feel like you aren’t wearing anything yet it gives you a flawless look
I love the J Cat Aqua Surance. Also the Mac studio fix. Both powder foundations. I need to try the KVD!

It's so frustrating when the favorite products we use is discontinued and we spend so much on trying to find something to replace them. My favorite hair color, bra, and Tart eyeliner has been discontinued. I'm glad you found a replacement so quickly, you look beautiful.

Renee so glad you found something you like on the first try! Many years ago I used the Lancôme Dual finish and I when I tried it again and can’t get past the scent of it. I also used Bare minerals many years ago and tried it again and I did not think it looked as good on me when I was younger! But I do prefer a powder foundation, I have extreme dry sensitive skin!
I have always used powder but worried as I aged because “they” say we shouldn’t use powder due to wrinkles. I too do not like the feel of liquid foundation and really couldn’t find a good match. I have been a Mac Studio Fix powder user for decades (great coverage). If they change that, I’m up a creek😂 You look great as always. Tfs

Thank you for posting this video! I bought Tarte because you recommended it and I loved it!!! I’ve gone back to my Bare Minerals since I ran out of Tarte. It’s not bad but it’s not the same feel or coverage as Tarte. I look forward to trying KVD. Great info on the Sephora tool as well!
Ohhh the Tarte.....I loved it so much! I have the Bare Minerals and don't like it at all. I can see it on my skin and it just seems to fly away. Not much coverage either.. Try the Sephora tool....and try the KVD. It's very similar to the Tarte. And it's a buildable coverage so you can use more or less as you need.

Renee, I really like Bare Minerals. The Bare Minerals creamy powder foundation leaves my skin feeling clean and flawless.
Your new makeup is so perfect. The color and amount you put on is perfect. I wouldn’t use it any heavier because it is perfect now. I have used Elizabeth Arden for at least 30 yrs. when I finish this pressed makeup I am going to try yours. I love it. I don’t especially care for liquid because I like the way pressed glides on so easy and I think it lasts longer on my face.
I think you should try the Bare Minerals original loose mineral foundation. It was my fave until my skin developed a sensitivity to one of the 5 ingredients in it. It has such a pretty finish. It was the "original" loose powder foundation that started the loose powder trend.
I have been using Bare Minerals for decades! It gives amazing coverage while feeling like theres nothing on your skin. Original all the way!

I put it on just like lotion, it doesn’t feel heavy or sticky or burn eyes. Just feels like light moisturizer, plus protects from sun- so important!

I love a powder foundation, I use Bare Minerals warm medium. Stays on all day with medium coverage but doesn't rub off if I hug someone taller than me (which is everyone), plus it's only about 20 bucks on Amazon. Love your channel, never miss it.

I love kdv lock it powder foundation. I am an older person. I have always hated liquid foundation. Once I got the right shade I just loved it; wouldn't use anything else.

What a cool color match tool by Sephora - the foundation looks good - would have never noticed a difference.

I used Bare Minerals for many years when I was younger. I would get comments on how nice skin looked and sometimes women would ask me what make up I used. Then, around 55, I started noticing the mineral powder was highlighting my wrinkles and actually drying out my skin. As the day wore on it actually caused flaking. I started following HotandFlashy on YT. She has a big channel and almost 1M followers. She is 60; does not look it by the way. Her channel features videos on skincare and makeup. Her and Dr. Dray, Dermatologist have big channels on YT; their number one suggestion for holding off aging skin is avoiding the sun as much as you can. The other is sun screen, sun screen, sun screen. The higher the SPF, the better.
My favorite tried and true powder foundation is the Laura Geller Balance and Brighten. I've been using it for years and years but also experiment with others on occasion and they are always a no go, except the Fenty powder foundation was nice but flat looking on me. The regular B-N-B has multiple colors in it so your skin looks lively however I am not a fan of her glowy one. It really is worth giving it a try.
Another vote for Laura Geller. I think I’ve tried them all, and I always come back to Balance and Brighten. It covers, it looks natural and it doesn’t itch like some powders and minerals do. I’m 73 and it looks great on more mature skin.

First, you have beautiful skin and that means a lot. I get so upset when makeup companies completely do away with a line that I use. Since the pandemic, I have only worn my skincare, moisturizer and tinted sunscreen. I do believe that with cooler temps, I will branch out into foundation and I'm definitely going to try the Kat Von D. Thanks so much!!!

I still can't get over Mac discontinuing strada blush. And that was decades ago lol ( I think that is what it was called - it looked beige in the container) I've never been able to find a perfect replacement
I don't wear either right now (but, I was always powder). I just told myself that I need to find a good powder. In my 30, I wore powder daily. Late forties, I stopped and just wore eyebrows and lipstick. But I believe it's good to have when you need it (powder foundation). Now, I'm trying to get this sun damage off my face. In my 60's, I've recently learned you have to stay on top of your skin. The powder looks lovely on you!

I use a compact by Clinique, comes with a sponge, but I use a blending brush. So much better that the sponge. You should try that.

I use a light layer of liquid; but I'd like to use powder. It's just that once I hit my 50's it seems the powdered foundations accentuate my lines and show my age.
Looks so nice. I’m afraid powder foundation would accentuate my lines. I usually use tinted moisturizer. I’d love to know how you cut your curly hair. All my tight curls in the front and the back is loose waves, such different curls, not sure what to do about it.
I find that liquid accentuates it much more I am a little older 58 and I find that the powder is much softer on my face

Did you use sunscreen before applying? I wear sunscreen daily. I’d like to try it but I need to know how it wears over sunscreen first.
Ive yet to find a powder foundation that doesnt sink into creases and makes them more obvious! $37 wow thats expensive. i dont like most of the liquids either. i will stick to my airbrush concoction works great for me.

Hi! I have the Bare Minerals....but don't like it. It's too "powdery" if that makes sense. For some reason, it just doesn't stay on my skin. I have normal skin but can get dry around my mouth in the winter. I'm not oily at all. The KVD Lock-It is very buildable so you can wear more or less as you need to. So far, it's been great!

Lancome's Dual Finish is great too. I've used it for years lightly to set foundation but it's actually a powder foundation. What I like is it is never drying. I think this color looks good on you though.

Maybelline used to have a powder foundation that was awesome, but they discontinued it several years ago. Now I use Cover Girl Clean Powder foundation. I still get breakouts (at age 62!!), so on days when I'm particularly blotchy, I use the powder as a finisher over either the Cover Girl Clean Matte BB Cream or Clean Matte Liquid Foundation, depending on the coverage I need (the BB cream is a bit heavier). The cream/liquid don't make my skin feel greasy at all; I share that pet peeve with you. I've heard that Kat Von D cosmetics are good, but I won't buy them because I find her problematic as a person. Not because of the tats -- my cousin is a tattoo artist -- but because she's spouted some political views I find objectionable. She's tried to deflect blame and soft-pedal her views, but I don't buy it, and so I won't buy her products.
I use Kat von du as well and love it butI prefer the liquid.

Yeah, not sold on powder foundation. I find it makes my skin feel dry and defines the wrinkles more. I don't mind the dewy liquid feel. At least I stay moisturized.
Sometimes you can go to the name of the product you like and other places will carry it.
Make up looks great, I use a powder foundation from Laura Geller. May have to try your new foundation. It seems if I like something, it usually gets discontinued..
Isn't it sooooo frustrating when things get discontinued!!?? And honestly I thought it would be a big process to find a new foundation. But I nailed it on my first try!! I did see the Laura Geller on my research but my daughter suggested I try the KVD first. Glad I did!

I have medium skin....not oily, and can get dry around my mouth in the winter months. I don't have any issues with a powder settling into lines. I moisturize well so my skin stays plump which I think helps that.
Do you still use and like the KVD Lock It foundation? Also is the color you wear a little dark? It looks so pretty on you!
I do still wear it......I think the color is good but could use a little more pinkish tint in the summer.

Hi Pearl! We wrapped French style green beans (canned) in bacon. Season with salt and pepper then top with brown sugar. Bake at 375 for about 30 minutes (or until bacon is crispy). Enjoy!
