What was the first track you learned on drums?
Hoobastank’s The Reason
I have the same vans
Krisssss have you ever listened to The Atomic Bitchwax?? I think you will appreciate how awesome the drums are in their songs. (Bass and guitars also awesome).
Coldplay - yellow and AC/DC - Back to Black
What u mean the first song we attempted or first song we learned to play all the way through because I think the first song I learnt all the way through was thunderstruck I think
Thanks! Loved this! Had learned 4 Green Day tracks and been playing them for several months and needed something new to add. Keep it up!
0:35 Seven Nation Army - The White Stripes
1:25 Lonely Day - System Of A Down
2:19 Boulevard Of Broken Dreams ‐ Greenday
3:30 Sad But True - Metallica
4:55 Why'd You Only Call Me When You're High - Arctic Monkeys
You're a young phenom!! I love this advice for beginner drummers! Easier to play yet delivers a rewarding sound! So, I'm 66 years old and when I began playing at around 10-12 years old and the songs that were way cool then was basically everything by Jimi Hendrix (Mitch Mitchell on drums), Cream (Ginger Baker on Drums and one of the first to incorporate two bass drums in rock and roll if not theee first), Iron Butterfly (Inagodadivida)! Also, Mountain (Magic Carpet Ride), Santana, Deep Purple were up and coming, Ted Nugent and The Amboy Dukes and many others! So, the first thing I learned on the snare back then was of course "wipe out"! Then I learned my first solo which was inagodadavida! Then Jimi Hendrix's "Hey Joe", "Purple Haze", "Crosstown Traffic" and a several others, Cream's famous song "Sunshine of Your Love", believe it or not The Monkey's too! I learned "Steppin Stone", "Last Train To Clarksville" and several other popular songs from them. I then morphed into Frank Zappa because his music was so unbelievably different with odd time signatures and a lot of changes and that was really interesting to me. He also had the best drummers in all of his bands over the years like Ralph Armstrong (RIP), Terry Bozzio, Vinnie Colauita, Chester Thompson and other greats! Ya, that's a long damn time ago man!! I play a lot of Jazz Fusion music now days like Jean Luc Ponty, Gino Vannelli (Brother to Brother) to name a couple, but I also play a lot of other 90's rock by Goo Goo Dolls, Collective Soul and Gin Blossoms. I would love to see you play something from one of those three. Thank you for always making my day by blowing me away with your talent!
Great video! 👍🏻 exactly my level of playing 😊 and its very nice to hear you talk this time! Like ur accent.
It's not just your drumming skills, but also your taste in tone and drum kit composition just sounds to smoooooth to the ears!
she is very cute too lol. never hurts haha
Godsmack - Whatever. Way back when it take out. First official song I tried to learn after some months of drumming.
Great selection of tracks, As an old drummer myself i think you nailed it with some diffrent type of music track.
The first track i learned was a blues track, unfortanly i cant remember what the title was.
I really enjoy follow you and see you share your talent and tips to your audience.
You are an inspiration to alot of people, keep it up
❤❤❤
Grazie.
Sending love
As a teacher, I really applaud you on giving back to young players by helping them with ways to learn. Keep rockin'!
First - well done on learning English. You are doing amazing
Second - this idea is brilliant. Fun, engaging and so helpful for fills and transitions
Third - You are an absolute rockstar and amazing talent
Thank you for sharing this with all of us.
#KrissArmy
Also don't forget that she's hot as... hell :D But for being Russian that's not a big surprise
@@wirti94 her surname is of Ukrainian origin
@@vladvulcan That's too bad. She doesn't sound russian or ukranian though.
@@wirti94 What Russian? Who's Russian?
@@vladvulcan Ohh really? I was wrong then. Well I dont know then, whatever.
Working on everybody wants to rule the world by tears for fears. Starting drumming at age 55.
Thanks to you I'm discovering the whole genre of metal and all the stuff you play, which I never really listened to before. I really like it. I come from classical music and jazz. Started on piano and singing as a boy, then played the flute, the trombone, guitar, bass, saxophone, tuba, and melodica until I realized that I really wanted to play drum set in a band.
Love to listen to you drum-and talk dear!! Thank you for demos!
The first song I actually learned to play to completion was Bad Apple by Basement.
I've been following you for quite some time now and you inspired me to get better and keep practicing. I can't go on without my daily dose of drums now. Keep doing what you're doing!
There were actually some songs I never thought about playing even though they match my style. Cool! My first one was "The Reason" by Hoobastank. It's extremely simple, but it has these slight crescendos and just enough variation to be fun for quite a while. I learned in a band so we would often practice together, I can recommend playing songs a little simpler than you would alone to not pressure yourself so much.
Your English has gotten so much better! Congratz!
Thanks for the video as always
great tracks for beginners for sure, well described why
your accent is getting better and better, keep it up! maybe go into doing some vlogs about managing and setting up equipment? let out some secrets about recording and such?
Listening to you voice is really amazing. Which is the most difficult track you have played till now. Sending love from Italy. 19:00
great selection of songs i would definetly like to see more videos like this to :)
I love your playing! And your kit!!!
¡Gracias!
❤️
😮😮 Thank you so much 🥁
One of the few people with 100s of thousands of subs that looks through comments. And I saw your subs move up from 775 to 776 within days. Very impressive rate of increase. I tend to not subscribe much to channels, but been watching your covers for little over a year and like some of the new things you are doing so I have subbed. Have you done Through the Fire and the Flames yet? Have you ever thought about reacting to another drum cover channel, just for fun? I do predict you have seen Juuna at least once.
Thanks for this!!! ❤❤❤
7 nation army is so simple even a bassist could play it on drums! Great choice! (yes, I am a bassist hahaha🤣) Pretty sure Lonely Day is in 6/8 time but can easily be counted in 2 with a triplet feel at the original tempo, another great choice.🥰 Boulevard of Broken Dreams... another classic that is easy enough that even a humble bassist could play it on drums.🤣 Overall, you made some perfect choices for a beginner to work on. My first time sitting behind the kit was either Cocaine by Clapton or Stray Cat Strut. I remember playing both the first day behind the kit but don't remember which came first... I love tapping out a good shuffle beat but bass has always been my instrument of choice. I am fairly handy with djembe, congas and a wide range of Latin percussion thanks to the influence of Santana on 70's music. Yes, Phat is an old geezer! Hahaha🤣 Have a great day, my young, lovely and rather talented friend! Adventure ever on, Phat🎸
Year and years ago, in the 60s, Honky Tonk Woman by The Rolling Stones, Incense; Peppermint by Strawberry Alarm Clock and Pictures of Matchstick Men by Status Quo in that order. I do like your picks too.
First track I learned was Move Along by All American Rejects... When I first heard it I thought it was crazy but then when I saw it broken down in a video I was shocked at how really simple it is... Awesome for beginner drummers.
First song I ever learned was "Misty Mountain Hop" by Led Zepplin.
A good track I tell people to try as their first track is "Back in Black" by AC/DC
Well young lady I never played the drums, or any other instrument for that matter, but back in the early seventies I could work my way through the drum solo from "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" pretty well. 😁
I have always maintained that if u can count to four u can play drums have been playing 60 yrs what u just taught anybody can play excellent tutorial!!!! Thanks from Dave
love the new cymbals Kriss!
Excellent video Kris! My first song is Another Brick In The Wall by Pink Floyd
These are great; I would often start my drum students with KoRn's "Coming Undone," Metallica's "For Whom The Bell Tolls," Green Day's "Brain Stew," Deftones's "My Own Summer," and Brand New's "Jesus Christ.
The doggy is great too!
Helmet - Unsung. It was really cool to see this and I hope that from time to time you'll do more !!!
First drum track I ever played was “Switchfoot- Meant To Live” and the first guitar rift I ever learned was the intro fro “Ozzy Osbourne- Crazy Train” and the first full song I learned to play on the guitar was “Greenday- When I Come Around”
Don’t know if you’ll see this but, I’m 32 and just now getting into drumming. No kit yet but I have a pad a pedal and a kick pad. Would love to learn from you. You’re one of my top 5 fav drummers!
The first song that I played was "These Days" by Foo Fighters, it felt really good when I could play every single note on drums. Thanks for the video and the tips!
Fav Foo song ever! 🙌🏻
Kriss, my inspiration is drummer Rick Allen of Def Leppard!!
I knew 7 Nation Army would be at least one. It’s the one song that almost every drummer I know has mastered just to help get timing down. Great list and video. You Rock Kriss 🤘🏼
Firstly, yeah awesome. You rock 🤟!! The first song I learned to play on keyboard, was Stairway to heaven, bass was All along the watchtower, and guitar was Stand by me... I actually bought a drum set because of your video's, and the first song on that was Bille Jean
I'm 44 and I started playing Drums six months ago. The first song I learned was Nothing else matters 😊
hello Kris my first song was "here in my room" by incubus
thanks Kristina. When i finally get a kit ill keep these in mind. You are great, keep up the good work.
You got mad skills! keep up the great work!
Billy Talent - fallen leaves is easy and fun to play. Thanks for the video!
ngl i find all your picks are doable. specially blvd of broken dreams. I remember my high school days when I was still air drumming that
I don't play drums anymore but the first song I can remember learning is About a Girl by Nirvana. It was the Dave Grohl live version as opposed to the Channing stuff on the actual album.
Been subbed to you for years Kriss and the progress you have made with your English is excellent. 👍👍
Oh man, my first track j ever learned was “I Think I’m Paranoid” by Garbage. Super simple yet fun track when you’re learning and starting out! When I really felt like my skill elevated is when I could play along with “Jesus of Suburbia” by Green Day and “Foreplay/Longtime” by Boston, and the rest is history!
Great video, as always Kris! Much love from the US 💙😁
My drum instructor taught me to start out with the song Billie Jean by Michael Jackson, but my official song that I started to learn by heart was Lucy in the sky with diamonds by the Beatles.
These were good suggestions. The first song I remember learning to play on real drums was Red Hot Chili Peppers ‘give it away’, it’s another fun groovy song that isn’t too difficult, but fun to play.
i learned playing drums in 1991 with rush roll the bones album. me and my best friend, we both learned playing drums listening to rush, iron maiden and van halen. the first song i learned on the drums is dreamline. it was hard work for beginners. my favorite song for drums is van halen pleasure dome.
Thanks. Don't play myself, but watching you play is always satisfying
The first song i first learned to play on the drums, is Jailhouse Rock BY Elvis Presley!!! And I played it without using or knowing the foot pedals!! I was 11 at the time I learned it, I can't read music amd I can't write music, but I can play by ear!!
Hi Kristina,
The 1st song I ever learned on drums was bombtrack by Rage Against the Machine and then Killing in the Name of =)
I love jamming to Sad But True. A song I have been attempting to learn is Face Down by The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. I am having trouble with the speed as I need to get my chops back to what they once were. The part I was struggling with a little was the intro with the down beat accent with the hi hat. I was very happy to see you cover that song which was definitely helpful for me to understand the type of approach I need to take to get better at it.
I would love to see you cover Can't be Saved by Senses Fail.
You are an amazing player. Definitely a level that I aspire to be.
Very nice, your English is very good, and I love your accent😊❤
i wanna see more videos like this!
The first song I learned on the drums was Last Kiss by Pearl Jam!
First song I ever learned on guitar was Satisfaction by the Stones. First song on drums, even though I don't play any longer, was Living After Midnight by Judas Priest.
I don't remember which song was the first one i played, it was a long time ago... i remember i used to listen to Californication and Toxicity (the albums) all day long, my biggest influences at that time were Red Hot Chili Peppers, SOAD, KoRn, Slipknot, Maná. If i have to suggest a band to start playing it would be... AC/DC or The Rolling Stones, just because their drums are quite basic but extremely perfect, if you are those who rush or drag this two bands are for you. Nice list by the way, great choise and bands.
Thanks for your recommandations! I've learnt 7 Nation Army playing via VR Drum on Meta Quest 2^^
Seven Nation Army was my first drum track to learn (started 3 months ago) , I will defnitely try these other tracks out too! Keep up the great drumming Kriss!
First track I ever learned on drums was Enter Sandman, because it was the leadoff track on the Black Album. Then Sad But True, because it was track number two. Also remember being heavily into learning Appetite For Destruction when I was starting out.
Ear candy! I really loved the bass & guitar too. Well done & Wonderful video 😊
❤ Love you, Vic
My first one was Godsmack-whatever
Im 33 and ive been playing since i was 7. But the first actual song i learned was that. I was probably about 10 when that happened.
You are an AWESOME teacher! Thanks for all your help.
Nice choice of Lonely Day still my favorite SOAD song
Great video!
My first track, when i have started to play drums, was Audioslave's Like a Stone;
the second one was Creedence's Have you ever seen the rain?;
the third one was Guns'n'roses' Sweet child of mine;
the others one were some of the easy stuff from ACDC, Guns, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Beatles, etc., and from some pop/rock Brazilian bands...
Enter Sandman(Black album) was actually my first cassette (yeah back in 1991) that I bought and learned on drums(all the songs) 😎😎🤘🤘🤘🤘
I try with "Instant Crush of DAft Punk" that song is very easy, Try it. . .greetings from Colombia 🇨🇴 🇨🇴 🇨🇴 🇨🇴
@Kris.
Kriss, love to see you playing! The first song I played was Orgasmatron, a cover song recorded by Sepultura in the album Arise. I loved the band and their songs are pretty tough to play, but this one was very easy and excited; I could say 'I played Sepultura'!! Sweet times back than!!! Thank you for sharing your work, your skills and your enthusiasm!!
Smoke on the water was the first song I learned on guitar. Love your videos, you should do one on System of a Downs varied beats.
I loved this video. I love being your patron and contributing every month.
Hey! Just out of curiosity, what's your reason for only using 2 toms?
Have you used 3 toms previously at some point and switched to 2 toms or always been just 2?
I have 2 toms too, mainly due to technical limitations with my kit, but it is simpler and more fun IMO to play with just 2. Same reason?
Seven Nation Army! It is pretty simple, but for a newer drummer it really feels good to be able to play a song all the way through. 😊
First track i learnt to play on drums was The Hives - Hate To Say I Told You So. I’m much better now than the first time i played it.
Great suggestions! the first song I learned was Seven Nation Army.
1st track i learned on drums was ACDC Runaway train
thanks for this video! i started learning Boulevard of Broken Dreams today, it will be my first song :)
This was a great video, Kris. I’m not a drummer, but sharing knowledge is always good! I’m more of a music nerd, & love to hear musicians talk, & play music.
Gotta say, “sad but true” has been my ringtone for years. 🤘🏼
Super, Thanks Kriss! Now I think about playing Boulevard Of Broken Dreams😊
this is great lists. please do next series for easy drum songs for beginner
Sad But True was the second song I learned on guitar on my 15-16yo
English was perfect! Good selection of songs Kriss!
This level of professionalism is out of this world!🤘
You are an amazing teacher Kristina.Nice suggestions for begginers but slow and simple doesn't means nothing special. All these songs are great!!You must exclude the Sad but True cause it's not so simple as it seems.
Loved this video, I don't have a kit yet and am itching to get one. I've got a practice pad and sticks to keep the dream alive in the meantime so thanks for the great tips Kriss, Especially amped about anything Greenday, I think Tre Cool is such an underrated drummer. Would love to see more of these types of vids but always love seeing your covers. You're brilliant! 😁
First song i ever played was HEY YA by Outcast
Yeeeesss!!! I love this video!!! It's soo nice to see you vloging for a bit. I'm waiting for the Q&A video that you promised. However I do not have a question for you at the moment. But yeeeesss, I love this video!!! 😊

EXCELLENT!! Your snare drum's huge and the sound is awesome!! =D Great playing!
My first was Blind by Korn
Paradise City (gnr) and The Reason (hooba)
Cool list of songs! My first track that I learned was "I think I'm paranoid" by Garbage
