To vocally do this tune justice, a singer has gotta have both the tremendous vaocal range AND the power to sustain it. Ann has both! More importantly, she obviously digs this Who classic, as she puts so much passion in to it.
Heart covering my favorite Who song! Ann is often called the 'Female Robert Plant' or the 'Grace Slick of the 70s', though no one ever mentions that she was probably also influenced by Roger Daltrey. I usually don't even like to hear anyone other than Daltrey sing this song. Ann did a great job though. Look for Ann and Daltrey singing "Kashmir". It's awesome.
It happened that year, that Heart hit Norman, Dallas and Houston in a three day period during the vacation I had planned all year. Most of the pictures are from Norman, some are from the Houston show. Norman was the first time I'd heard Reign and it was freaking amazing. Many fans who'd been to the show before that date had been telling me about it. Heart did not disapoint.
Both Heart and Pearl Jam played excellent covers of this classic. So similar yet so different. Stop comparing, guys. They all have soul and are paying homage to a buncha legends.
Love this version live. Saw them at Jones Beach a few years ago. They were the best of the night! Their version of this song still gives me chills. I love it!
This is how you do a cover song the RIGHT way. This is the only cover of this song that made me cry like I did when I heard the original for the first time.
Debbie Shair. She joined right after the release of Jupiter's Darling. Ann Wilson's First Solo Album Ever - Hope and Glory Rounder Records... release 9-11-07.

I saw Heart perform this song live on Saturday. . .Amazing. . .Ann has such a beautiful and strong voice. . .
I was there at their performance at Arrowfest 2006 in Houston, Texas. They were AMAZING.
True talent! Now, if I could only see them perform live. Thanks!
Only two people can sing this song right...Roger Daltrey and Ann Wilson.
Anne rules, this copy of the original WHO song is great.
