This song has a special place in my heart as the inspiration for my username, and while I was listening to it I just got an Urge. I took a break in the middle of this project, but I got it done eventually!

i really like how in 90% of his screen time you can see Hobo Phoenix as that cryptic asshole from the game but in the other 10% you can see his vulnerabilities and how bad he feels about playing Apollo. Also your Trucy is one of my favorite designs of her she is so cute!
YESSS I'm really glad that got across! Despite his AJ persona, Phoenix is still human and has his fears and worries just like everyone else.

I do like that the song includes the phrase "collateral damage". It's totally not intentional, but it is a funny accidental reference.

I know some folks don't like it when the official designs are strayed from, but is this going to stop me? No. I'm glad you like my portrayals of them, though!

I just noticed an interesting detail, during the part where Apollo is considering all the people in the case and the words 'collateral damage' repeat, you could technically consider each person as 'collateral damage' (Phoenix as collateral damage of Zak's decision to drop Kristoph, Zak as collateral damage of Phoenix looking into Kristoph and the Gramarye case, Olga as collateral in Zak's stupid attempt to destroy Phoenix's win record), but the last repeat that plays when the fourth person is shown is distorted, which you could take as meaning they're the only one that _isn't_ collateral damage.
Not sure if that was intended, but I thought it was a neat detail!
I just understand something really important... The sentence "I dodge the blast and apologise for collateral damage" at the end of the video is said by Phoenix, so what is the collateral damage's name?

I just went on a trip to memory lane and found this song again and I'm currently really fixated on ace attorney so imagine my surprise and joy when I looked up animatics of this song and this showed up. Good stuff!!

I remember seeing it after finishing a lest's play of phœnix Wright : Ace Attorney and absolutely not understanding what happened but being an absolute fan of the animatic and song. Now thag I can understand, it's awesome to watch it making sense

This is great, the drawings are very rough but easily recognisable, and you captured the events of the first case pretty well so as to be easily understood by anyone who's gone through it before.
this never stops being incredible!! i come back every so often to watch it again
SO DAMN GOOD!! You have mastered how to tell a story without words. I have zero experience with animating as I only voice act, so using animation alone to convey a plot is an extremely impressive feat in my book!

I keep coming back to this after a year I just love it so much. Apollo Justice is probably my favorite game in the series and this animatic is all I could want in one from the game it's just so good.

It was a set up on his opponent's part - Smith hoped to "catch" Phoenix cheating by planting a fifth ace in his deck and then hiding another card on his person to make it look as though he cheated. When he couldn't find the card he planted on Phoenix's person, he blamed his accomplice, the dealer, and attacked her instead.
