I agree - lovely to see dingos in the wild. In March 2021 I saw a mum and 2 pups (not sure if they are called pups) running in the surf at Sandy Cape. Just great.
Beautiful footage. I own a new jimny too. But i cringe hard when you drove through that salt water... I couldnt do it. Cudos to you for not caring and just enjoying it 👍 Wish i could.
Haha gosh no mate I would never drive through salt water! That’s Eli Creek I drove through it’s a famous spring fed fresh water creek! Fraser has fresh water streams running out to the ocean all over the island. Very safe to drive through 😊👍🏼
Thanks heaps guys. Fraser is one of our favourite places. Just amazing. Was quite busy this time of year but when we visited in winter last time it felt like we had the whole island to ourselves 😊
Great video, and even better Jimny! My wife and I are considering a Jimny. Can I ask, how would a stock Jimny tow a trailer like yours? Do you find it has enough power to tow on long trips? We would be planning to make it into a mini tourer for interstate trips. Thanks a million!
Thankyou so much 😊 It actually ties surprisingly well. My engine is still only stock and it’s honestly not a hassle at all towing. Even across soft sand or rocky tracks. I say go for it 😊 Get yourself a light camper like the pod trailer and you’ll have a blast 🤙🏼
Amazing video! Loved the views and scenes from Fraser. What is the trailer like to pull on road? Did you run electric brakes to allow for increased towing capacity? Can’t wait to take mine out there
Oh and honestly with a light trailer like this it’s easy to forget you’re even towing it. Until you have to climb a steep hill that is 😅 Then she’s a bit slow lol.
Hey big rig I’m also in Brisbane with a Jimny I take out Beach and bush often. Man how does it go with the trailer getting onto the beaches and driving high tide? I want to get a Jetski but feel like it would struggle and bog heaps especially at the entrance and exits of all our beaches gets pretty soft. Would love to know your honest thoughts. I love your channel. It’s cool, not enough people share what they do to their cars. Myself including. Cheers
Hey mate 😊 Thanks so much! When we first got the trailer I was worried also as our first planned trip was to Fraser and as you know Inskip and Fraser get pretty bloody soft. So, as a trial we loaded it up (filled the tanks loaded all our gear etc) to the heaviest it will get, and drive it up the inland access track at Bribie, then back down the entire beach at high tide, and straight off the beach access point there at Bribie. We didn’t have a single issue, not even a moment where I thought we might get stuck. It was effortless. Since then we’ve driven heaps with the trailer on beaches and all the Fraser inland tracks etc, never been stuck. No even once. Having said that, I put the car and trailer pressures to 13psi and that seems to work well. I also don’t bother trying to use 4H in the soft stuff. It’s not worth it. Just use 4L and take it easy. Such a better way to drive really soft sand. Anyway I hope that heaps. Oh also the max weight of our trailer fully loaded is 340-350kg. Not sure how much a ski would be.
Yeh Inskip is so hilarious so many people get bogged. Fortunately I’ve never been bogged in the Jimny I ran 15psi in hankook muddies and gets me everywhere so far. I’m the same always run 4L it can handle it all day and just full send keep momentum. Mate thanks so much for that advice it’s so hard to find anyone who’s towing anything in similar conditions to us. Seadoo 2up Trix and trailer is about 350kg. Will definitely drop pressures to 13 and give it a go. Thanks! If you see a Jungle Green carrying a seadoo around you’ll know it’s probably me! Lol cheers
Hello how does the jimmy go pulling that on the highway, can it do road speed ok ? how much dose it hurt the fuel economy of it ? (im looking at buying a jimmy and doing similar to you)
Hey 😊 Honestly you barely even know it’s there. In fa t sometimes I do forget it’s there 😅 The pod trailer is 200kg (ours is just over 300kg with the RTT and fridge and battery etc) so really it’s just like pulling along 3 passengers. Easy to do highway speeds and the only time you really notice it is going up a long steep hill.. you need to change down the gears. Highly recommend for the Jimny due to its smaller size and extremely light weight. 👍🏼👍🏼
Do you have kids? I am considering a Jimny setup with a small camper trailer myself. Just not sure if it will work with kids in the back, losing out on all the storage you gain while the seats are down.
@@TheLittleRig in same boat. Thinking of Jimny as a cost effective 4wd, but with Family of 4 just not sure how long it would be suitable for. Pod trailer is a good option adds a lot of flexibility for those longer trips 🤔 Just wish they would release a 4 door version already...
Hey mate, can I ask about your pod trailer? Looks like you have the entry level model with the shorter drawbar? Given its not marketed for offroad, how does it hold up?
Hey mate yes you’re exactly right. All I’ve done is add a few bits and pieces plus the much larger mud terrains. So, ideally I’d prefer some shocks on it for a bit more ‘comfort’ over the bumps. And an off-road hitch would be ideal. Other than those couple of things it’s definitely completely fine. Kinda gotta weight up so you buy the base and upgrade yourself to save $$, or just get it pre done ready to go off-road 😊
@@TheLittleRig well based on your experience this thing can definitely get off road. Am only in a 4wd xtrail so not really capable of doing anything crazy, mainly unsealed and unmaintained with some bumps at best. Even when we do get a cruiser, looks like itll still handle a bit more than the norm?
@@TheLittleRig thanks mate, appreciate the feedback. Seems like its worth savibg the coin given the next one up and the equivalent trailmaster is significantly more.
We love going in June July because it’s really quiet. Obviously it’s much cooler so swimming isn’t much fun, but you can explore the whole island without all the traffic and tourists.
Sweet vid. Its good to see the island busy after the fires. The locals must be happy :)
Yeah it’s awesome. Only a few campsites are still closed but for the most part it’s full steam ahead. 🙌🏼
Great video. Have not been to Fraser Island since my Backpacking days. Great memories thanks
Thankyou! Absolutely magical place 😊

Oh wow that would have been awesome to see the little ones 😊🙌🏼
forgive my ignorance, but what is that antena looking thing on the front bumber? Ive seen it in various vehicles, I have no clue :P. Nice video
Hey 😊 It’s a UHF aerial antenna. So basically for handheld radio communications between vehicles 🤙🏼
But what is this? 4wd´s, beach, people having a good time, a jimny... I don't need any more, I want to go there right now!!! 🚀
Hahaha love it 😅🙏 Highly recommend you do 😊

Hello 🤗 we hope you are keeping nice and safe over there! Thankyou for saying hi 🙋🏻♀️🙋🏼♂️
Man thats just paradise!😳 4WD’s everywhere! Amazing camping spots and beach views for days!😁 Love the way of life in Australia!
Thanks heaps guys. Fraser is one of our favourite places. Just amazing. Was quite busy this time of year but when we visited in winter last time it felt like we had the whole island to ourselves 😊
It's not great when it's that busy but it's a wonderful spot!

Thankyou so much 😊 At this stage I don’t have electric brakes as it’s under 350kg but in future I definitely plan on getting them 🤙🏼
