I think the unit helped some: Treble down, Mids up, Bass up a little. The sound was still a bit brittle. It would have been nice if they had EQ for Presence. I use my HX Stomp for EQ on a Piezo for a Nylon String Guitar, and it works perfectly. I can export them and email them to you, if you like. It will probably be way too dark for Steel string guitar, but you'll be able to see that settings that work on my particular guitar.
If I understand correctly, there is no "peak level" indicator? So, you must use the gain knob by just listening for distortion? My instinct would be to crank the volume then bring up the gain to a unity level on the board or amp!?
Correct. My suggestion is if you have an acoustic with an active pickup, start the gain knob at 12:00 and lower as needed. If you have a passive pickup you can go up to maximum and then decrease until it’s clean. Get the maximum you can out of the gain control without it distorting, then use the level to boost or cut as needed. That’ll get the best sound.
Yes it would! Quick question, would you go for the nux optima air over the glorifier? I’m trying to chose but they both seem to be great 🥲 lol I’ll be using it with a fish man rare earth humbucking sound hole pickup that I just bought. (Same as yours without the mic)
The direct to interface comparison is not the same as going into a console. The console channel has its own preamp section which is most of the time at least as good and most of the time better than this preamp.
Preamp has a few different meanings. On a console, it's literally a preamplifier. When talking about impedance matching, using the term preamp is also correct. Most consoles do not have a high impedance option on the XLR in.
Thanks for this review....I just bought 2 because of it 🙂
Great Review. Really Showed What This Product can Do. Thank you.

Has anyone compare it with Headway EDM-1 HE?

HI..fine preamp...what pickup are you using here?
Can you mute your guitar with it?
Never mind I guess you can just turn down all the volume
Yeah, a mute switch would’ve been nice though
