Awesome memories. I won my first National on Redline 600 A and then moved onto a Redline PL20 Stu Thomsen Replica....man, I was the envy of everyone with that bike...

Stu still to this day is the Hero of my old neighborhood. He was The Best, and all of us wanted to be him. It was great when he opened up his bike shop, and not only buying parts for a great price. But getting to meet Stu himself, and sitting, and talking with him, and his shop mechanic. I had a Redline ST 12, and I never took home a third place trophy with it. I'm still friends with Stu, and he's well known all over the country. He is truly a Legend, and one of The Best people I have ever known, definitely a super cool guy. He made BMX The Great Sport it is today. Stu Thomsen Much Respect to You Buddy!

Stu was the man. Brings back some memories there. I had a Redline with Skyway Tuffwheel mags. Egressor tire on the back, snake belly on the front. Double goose neck, 155 cranks....

This video is just incredible. If I ever win a multi million dollar lottery, I'm going to start a BMX Burger restaurant, with vintage BMX bikes on display, and tables set up between two quarter pipes. I would like to have Stu, Greg, Perry, Bob, and all the other vintage riders come sign autographs, and take pictures to put up on the walls. Vintage BMX is like porno for me.

I'm 45 yrs old and was a huge fan of Stu when I was a kid, I wanted an SE when he was with them, then it had to be a Redline, but I could never afford one. I'm about to buy me a Redline I think!

I had nothing but the highest respect for Stu Thompson. But since I raced a GT, I was a huge Greg Hill fan. I remember when we had the NBL Dixieland Nationals here in Nashville, and all the big names came. Man, I was in heaven!!!
Still am a big GT man, I have a GT Aggressor

I have seen this before but had to see it again, I'm going to order the full length movie combo tonight. i have to say as an old school BMXer and still BMXer today that Stu was one of my idols growing up for sure. He has done great things for this sport I love to this day. I never got the chance to meet him but watched him like a hawk through the BMX magazines.

I was fortunate to meet Stu when he & the redline, mongoose & skyway teams came down under to race in 1981

While other kids had baseball and football heros, I had pages from BMX Action and BMX Plus all over my wall, with Stu in the middle of it all. I must've stared at that beautiful chrome Redline bike for 100s of hours. I was 15 and trying to be happy with my Schwinn Scrambler :-) gotta get this complete video now. Thanks for sharing.

Yeah okay- WHERE can I get the whole film? Stu was my first cycling hero of any kind. My first SERIOUS bmx bike was a Redline Pro Line because he rode one ,and I eventually rode a SE Quadangle- because that's what the STR1 became. Funny- I was in Australia - so NEVER got to see these guys ride in real life- or even on video. ALL our information was from BMX Action and BMX Plus. The print media was all there was.

Still was one of the best in the 1970's ! I couldn't pickup a bmx action magazine that didn't have great updates of the nationals & Stompin Stu in it...Those days I never want to forget. The 70's were the 👌 Best ! How I wish those times were again. 😢❤❤🎉
