I love Void. I'm using it with DWM. I was ill recently which prevented me to accessing the computer for months. So, the initial update was large to say the least. Yet, unlike Arch, Void updated without any issues. It simply works.
i can tell its a real person speaking and then overlaying it with an AI voice changer, just for anonimity sake which is respectable my guess "Retrieval-Based Voice Conversion" or "RVC" AI , you can download it and use it completely for free, its open source, both linux and windows i have used it a fair bit for tomfoolery , making game characters say stupid shit
@@GoldenBeans yep, or to simply hide the deep indian accent. Not that I have anything against it, but sometimes the accent makes discourse harder to understand, specially when technical terminology is used.
@@GoldenBeans I am not familiar with those voice changers, though they sound interesting. But wouldn't these distort what is spoken? At around 1:50, the voice said "systemd" as one word, rather than "system D", which seems like a dead givaway for text-to-speech, doesn't it?
I'm sorry, but the "uhm"s every couple of seconds make the video unwatchable for me. Might be on me though. Since this is AI generated anyway, I would recommend turning that off if possible.
The more annoying thing to me is the mispronunciation of "Deebian." Not only does that sound stupid, I have no idea how someone would think that it's proper to add an extra "e" while pronouncing the name Debian. And worse, even the quickest web search for Debian or visit to Wikipedia or its own site would quickly tell you than the the name is a pormanteau of two names, Ian Murdock (RIP), yhe creator of the project, and is girlfriend at the time, Debra.
when i used void i felt the most in control of my 'puter switched to arch because i dont have the time to build from source now i just dont care and everything just works the nostalgia tho
Runit is great, xbps as well. Have it as a main driver at home on the bare metal. Using the Mate desktop, enjoying reading the docs whenever I need to. Getting additional details for packages on their website package search before I install them (being able to see new packages being added into the repos as well). Haven't had to format it in years and it still works with peak performance. The best thing is the customization ... It's a lot more similar to Arch than to Ubuntu. This means you can use it in a light/performant manner or convert it into a visually rich powerhouse. Best part is ... In any case, it would use less resources and just be better overall. It is a rolling distro, but a very stable one at that ... meaning that in the rare cases that there would be issues, they are fixed within hours or few days.
I use Void, but I have the Nix package manager installed to install software the Void repos lack. I may also install Homebrew, though I find Homebrew more usefull on macOS.
@@RHTORAS I think Jake@Linux did a video on Nix on Void Linux.I know he did some NixOS videos. But he's a big Void Linux user. do know you'll want to download Nix from the Void Repository. I had problems running the script from the NixOS website, but the one from the Void Repos worked.
@jayhughes3843 I can't think of any, but I suppose someone could find drawbacks if they look hard enough. BTW, Homebrew requires glibc so forget about it on the Musl version of Void.
That's the XFCE default look. You can customize it. If you're just basing your choice on looks, you're in the wrong place. You should be searching for the different Desktop Environments not distros.

I can tell the voice is robotic, but the content is still of decent quality

I thought that aswell, it really was annoying rather than helpful

how about distrobox then?
Yeah, Void Linux is perfect. I've been using it since 2021
I don't think the um is as bad as that one dude said. But it does feel wierd hearing an obvious ai voice using it amd throws off the feeling.
can I move the taskbar to bottom ?
It is Linux
you record you voice and give it to the Robot's. LMAO!!!
Void cure me
Same
I installed void. I updated it daily until it wouldn't. Now I call it deVoid. I won't re-install this garbage.
What do you mean is it bad? what distro would u recommend
ur just calling it garbage with no explanation on why u dislike it
@@cfoe44void is great, he is just too dumb to even give real facts, he is probably a wannabe user. Void VS Arch I go with Void
Yawn. Looks just like an old OS to me.
you say that because of the desktop environment. you can install plasma 5 perfectly fine and say its a modern os
@a_nickname028 the only one I found close enough was KDE Plasma. But there is a learning curve to it.
