1st year youth coach for my kids team. Fell in love with wrestling from jiu jitsu. You may not get the reference but you are to wrestling what danaher is to jiu jitsu. You are hands down the best transferor of information I have seen in the sport. Sound and concise. Thank you for all the instruction.
I think a lot of the high school officials I see would incorrectly stop this move because the hand is up on the shoulder and so they would call this potentially dangerous.
Hey Kolat our coach has us put the arm on our hip and then scissor across the head with our legs. He says that you shouldn't go straight over but then you probably know more than our coach.
I prefer my own spin on it. I had a 100% pin rate with it. I'd chop the arm hold onto the chopped arms wrist with my right hand put the arm bar in, and walk around his head.
@@KOLATCOM I miss wrestling, I truly wish I would have put more effort into it when I was younger. I got my fair share of medals and brackets, but I was never the best. My favorite takedowns were the fireman's carry, and every coaches nightmare the headlock. As far as pinning goes I really only did 3 things half Nelson, headlock, or my arm bar (stack)... maybe? I'm not really sure what it looked like while I was doing it. However my specialty was reversals. Just standard old-school reversals.
OK so this year is gonna be my 3rd year wrestling. 1st year was JV and a fun year but then last year wasn't so successful because i would be exhausted as most of my matches would go all 3 rounds. I could not finish people off with a pin because my top game was soooo bad. Every time i would be on top i just couldn't bring them to their back. What should i train on or pay more attention to in order to pin/have more success in the ground game and get more pins
Probably focus on breaking someone down then a few pins I like to use are an arm bar a double arm bar spladle or banana split and surfboard or you can focus on the basics like a normal half Nelson or power half
Hay coach i am big fan of your wrestling technic because i am indian wrestler please tell me to what age to start wrestling my son write now he is 3yr old and what are we preparation to me please coach this is my dream my son any year world champion and Olympic gold medalist to be first Indian boy thanks.
husonuso this isn't a real arm bar it's a chicken wing a real arm bar is a jiu jitsu and judo submission you probably already know this by now though lol

Appreciate that!
If only wrestling moves were as easy to perform on the mat as in practice!
If you make practice hard going live will be easy
Chauntel Bland in a match these are hard
Chauntel Bland right
Dude middle school wrestling is so hard
@@regianeduarte2000 ik right lol
tried the armbar & half nelson stack today at practice work for me like a charm.
One of the best pining combos in the book. Matter offact im going to use it in two days in our tournament.
How did it go
@@AshtonLockk we'll never know
@@AshtonLockk mans really asked him almost a decade later
So howd the tourney go
Damn bro let us know doing all that talking 😂
My 9yr old just got 2 pins this weekend using the half nelson. I am going to show him this tonight and work with him on it.
Great!

LOL at the look on Obe's face: resigned to pain :D
Thanks for watching! Obe is a world class wrestler an arm bar is not an issue for him.
@ryanbubba1000 I started in college at 22. It's all about commitment. If you don't want to do it, it doesn't matter the age.

i wish i could train with u so bad i think it would improve my wreastling game a whole lot >
Poor Obi 😂
good job
looks useful for jiu jitsu too. Ill see if I can get that arm behind them like that. Can you go to some kind of half nelson from there?
Yes, once you secure the bar you can dig out a half on the other side and jump over to drive him to his back.

@legolassonofthranduir33254 it's OK, wrestling is timeless.
@jrell96 Jarell, this is your coach, bring your running shoes Monday...
did he bring the shoes?

Chicken wing
Not a chicken wing
Thought so too mate, but it isn't
awesome
You already took the back! WHY WOULD YOU GIVE THAT UP 😂
Because it's wrestling, not submission grappling
@@ray.n_l Wrestlers should get the back. If you have the back you have control. From there you can do a RNC, crossface, hammerlocks and many other
Super
I am thinking of becoming a wrestling coach. Are these moves on your site legit for junior high and highschool?
yep
Marcus Gomez have to stay above the elbow when arm is bared otherwise considered potentially dangerous
If you don't have experience being a wrestler you probably should coach
wouldnt this be the same thing as having a chicken wing and a wrist? or is there something different about the two?
we call that a chicken wing
@ryanbubba1000 not at all, i'm 14 and i'm starting my first season next month
@snorlaxcom alright thx man
Arent armbars not allowed in high school wrestling?

0:59 Obie needs to look away, not into that :)
Y did North Carolina let him go. North Carolina must be on a mission. They had Coleman Scott now Tony Ramos but not yet elite.
Left to take the head coaching job at Campbell and then Navy.

@MaverickWrestling thats right buddy.. your video has less views because you dont have yellow and black mats, just keep telling yourself that
69 comments and the first comment is just simply “chicken wing”
Please don't stick it in his ear 🤣
Ohhh nice but really uncomfortable for opponent haha
