It doesn't take an hour and a half to get a seriously injured person in a city!! I am ex Ambulance service. Somebody as important as Princess Diana should have been in hospital within half an hour
A) The medics were impeded by the damn paparazzi (the very persons who caused the accident in the first place!) trying to get close-ups of her injuries. In her semi-conscious state, all this action caused her to be confused, frightened and somewhat combative to care, and she had to be calmed and the crowd cleared away from her (and those vultures weren't about to lose a shot of a dying princess) in order to assess her injuries and provide care. B) During the ambulance ride, they had to go slower due to the nature and extent of her injuries, for fear of causing more damage. C) She was experiencing severe cardio-respiratory events, at one point she began to 'code out' on them, and they had to stop the ambulance to administer meds and re-stabilize her. D) And if you're really 'ex-Ambulance service', you'd be perfectly aware of these situations occurring at serious accidents with serious injuries. Happens all the time. Blame the media for her death, they killed her as surely as if they'd shot her in the head. Her rescuers are not to blame.

Slao the journalists were not there in the tunnel when the car crashed that has been proven..she was awake and calm when 1st found not uncalm

Huge respect to Dr Richard Shepherd. We need more people like him. Not saying he’s perfect because he isn’t but what a contribution to society. I come from a family of doctors so have a fairly unique insight into the mentality but what he’s done is on a different level again. It was reported that cars were switched at the last minute and it was found that the seat belts in the back seat were malfunctioning for some reason, thus Diana and Dodi were not able to wear them! Coincidence?
@@gwenethrogers5820 The car was in bad shape, and shouldn't have been in service at the hotel. The driver was served alcoholic drinks at the same hotel. The responsibility falls on the hotel's shoulders.

This might be the most traumatizing profession, seeing, smelling and imagining things that mostly, shouldn't happen to human beings.
They shouldn’t happen to any living being. All animals want to avoid pain and death. Also all animals grieve.
No, once u are trained.. ur mind is focused on saving the patient...so every sense is focused on that.
@@mariyamniyaz That doesn't work as well as you may think. Latent psychological injury takes its toll. As a former marine, I still have smells and visuals. All the years of mental preparation didn't prepare me for seeing a young woman crushed in Thailand.

@@mariyamniyaz From outsiders of course, we'd think that way. I was trained and have worked in the medical field for years...we may be looking it from a scientific pov, but we're still human. Once you talk to patients, get a glimpse of the human being inside the body.. you learn things from them unconsciously.

A realistic emergency transport could stabilize patient, immobilize body and transport in 25 minutes total.
Renny Zero, they couldn't get her out of the car. By the time the ambulance set off, they had already had to work on her twice.

Renny Zero they were just down the street from an American Hospital/Trauma Center. They could have had her there in 5 minutes and yet they deliberately passed it and chose instead to drive around slowly for the next 2 hours!

Respect to Dr Richard Shepherd immense PTSD that man suffered for doing such a hard job as he said the switch from a doctor to being a father, we all have many switches inside us it's when they fuse it becomes an issue we are only human after all. RIP Diana and Dodi xx

Dr . Richard Shepherd , I almost wish I hadn't come across this programme about various things. ...Princess Diana. ...but now I would like to thank you because of your honesty regarding your depression . It has brought back memories of 25yrs when I was taking some elderly friends out during a very hot summer and on our return I could smell that unmistakable odour of death . I come from a farming village and ( as you know ) once one smells death one recognises it immediately. ..to cut short I knocked on an elderly woman's window and what I thought was a curtain moved ...covered with maggots and bluebottles . I climbed over her locked garden 6ft fence , looked in a window and saw the black decomposed body of an elderly woman who had been dead for about three months . Thank you for being honest and sharing your P.T.S.D.with others , were you able to find support ? I had a young family to support but this is the first time I have been able to speak about it . I dread smelling that unmistakable odour again plus the Coroner's demand that I give evidence as first finder . Purgatory. ..pure torture . Thank you once more for sharing .

THANK-YOU, SKAVLAN - Very honest & intelligent "chat". I believe Diana DID try to use her seatbelt, as she taught her beloved boys everything she could to keep them safe, and was always shown putting on her seatbelt as the papparazzi tormented her, constantly recording her every public move. However, we ALL know, who have done the deep research, that the Mercedes MEANT to transport her had been switched at the last minute, and was a very altered vehicle - a key part of the assassination op. Of course the seatbelts would have been made inoperable. She ALSO could have been saved had they not kept her for hours in the crime scene, & then had driven her at incredibly slow speed to (finally) hospital. Even then, she was still alive...............The evil of the RoyalScumFamily is endless. A many, many centuries-long reign by psychopaths, who eliminate ANYONE who causes them "problems". Diana was a REAL HUMAN BEING, NOT a psychopath. She tried to get away from the RoyalScumFamily, but of course they outsmarted her. True we must all die but that's the body, in our Soul Essence we each must give an account for the life God so graciously has loaned to each and everyone of us. To some people this may sound foolish but the foolishness of God is the wisdom of God, Still the wisdom of man is foolishness to God.

Yet we shall not all die because when the Day of God comes which is the day of recompense, or Judgement _ there will be many people alive and they will not taste of death physically if they survive the great earthquake that will take place - such an earthquake! that there never has been one like it before, and never again will there be one after.

Then comes the second death which is eternal death - mainly the Lake of Fire_ Hell and death will be cast into the Lake of Fire and Satan and all his demons, and everyone whose names are not found written in the Lamb's Book of Life will also be cast into the Lake of Fire, and there will be weeping and the gnashing of teeth,

People say that this has been said for many years that of the return of Christ is near, and it has not yet happened, but people fail to realize that God is Not mocked nor is He slow as some may count slowness, for a day to God is as a thousand years, and a thousand years are as a day_ but God is not slow - but instead God is patient and long-suffering towards us, not willing that any should perish but come to repentance, so count what people call slowness as His patients.
But, and, the Day of God will come where the universe will be burnt with fervent Heat and the Earth and all its Works will burn up.

So actually a chicken can be called a dinosaur today because chickens are prehistoric they were created with all the other animals in the beginning including the giant dinosaurs whose fossils we know.

if God wants to shake the universe like a blanket He can, in fact, He will. After the flood of Noah God made a promise and He marked that promised with what we call a Rainbow, He called it a bow, and that promise was that He will never again destroy the whole population and everything that has breath with water, but instead He will destroy everything with fire.
Let's not forget lest we forget God is love and He demonstrated that on the time that we call today Christ-mas. And ultimately He laid down His life to give us life Everlasting with Him. John 3:16.

I have never heard a more truly clear and concise statement. I talk about death all the time because of what I do - and for the main part I do it freely or if not then it’s for a community charitable cause. When ppl lose a loved one, more often than not they do want to speak about their loved one, reminisce, etc, but most ppl who are in effect spectators of the person who is grieving, don’t feel comfortable speaking to that person, and I’ve even known ppl - out of not understanding or fear....I’m not 100% sure - turn away and actively avoid that person. They’ve already lost a loved one and the very last thing they need is to lose ppl they consider to be friends.....so yes, I couldn’t agree more with your comment.🙌🏽🙏
@@robertnovoa341 I studied theology and religion at university and I’m not sure which Bible you’re cutting and pasting this from because I have never ever read what you state. Do you know how many different interpretations of the Bible there are? There are 6. Can you be sure with 100% certainty which one is correct?
Simply by the wording I would take a guess at this being taken from the ‘King James’ version, or the ‘New Living Translation’, however it is my opinion that we all be given the opportunity to interpret the Bible in our own way based upon our own thoughts and beliefs therefore why do we need so many versions and why would it take 6 different publications to translate the original Bible? Is this a subtle shift in ensuring that each Bible is translated as that individual or group of ppl wish? Is this done because the 6 translations then encourage us to behave as ‘sheep’ and choose a specific interpretation which may then incite us to choose our religion, or is it simply because they assume the rest of the population to be to ignorant to comprehend and therefore interpret the word of the Lord?
If we need 6 Bibles which are allegedly comprised of various historical manuscripts which came from a multitude of sources - none of which can actually be 100% beyond any doubt whatsoever authentically sourced as being the undisputed word of God or his Son Jesus Christ, or written by witnesses of Gods word or that of Jesus Christ, how can any of these 6 bibles, for the benefit of those reading it, be completely infallible?
My view is simple, in that a book, particularly one such as the Bible, cannot be completely infallible after having been made in to 6 different types, whether for readability / interpretation, or not, how can we now be 100% certain as to which in it’s entirety contains the true wording of God.🤷🏼♀️
People in medical field have a high rate of mental burn out I was a certified nurses aide after 24 years i lost it and it happens just as the good Doctors says. My trauma was doing death cares my patient was dead i was washing the body all of a sudden the body sits up and a whoosh of air exspelled from the lungs freaked me the F##$ out . 15 yrs later when my son passed on this last breathe I totally lost it .one week later i quit my job just couldnt do it any more
I’m so sorry. CNA’s should never have to do “Death Care”. Mortuary Workers should do all that. I worked as a Nurse in an Assisted Living Facility. If a resident now patient, was on Hospice; I cared for them while they were still alive. If someone on Hospice passed, I called the Hospice company. They dealt with everything. Once one of the workers from a Hospice company thought I was supposed to help her with the body. Yeah no. There 2as me and a CNA who were responsible for everyone at night. And it had 100 apartments in that facility. Different Hospice companies worked with Hospice patients were in the facility . And the Nurses who worked for the Hospice companies didn’t actually care for the patients. They came in once a week and decided what medications the patient needed. So once someone passed, it was all their job. To notify the family, all of it. And the Hospice Nurses didn’t really have to do anything to the body. After pronouncing a patient deceased, mortuary workers came and got the body. That’s how it should be. I stopped working as a nurse because it was way too much emotionally.
@@katrinaolsen2444 I worked as a CNA for a full care nursing home it wasnt the death cares that bothered its the fact i was never taught that a dead body muscle could contract and cause them to sit up which exspells any air left in the lungs. But being Native american indian we are taught the greatest gift of respect and love is to take good care of those intrusted to you to care for.
@@smallfries3462 Oh wow, you definitely should have been taught about what happens to a body. That would be terrifying. I think for me it was incredibly difficult for me emotionally when a patient was actively dying. Because when that happens, people are essentially being suffocated by their own fluids. I never wanted to cry in front of them or their family because it wasn’t about me. I had to stuff that way down until I was off of work. And for whatever reason, the dying are attracted to me/are comforted by my presence. I didn’t realize that until I worked as a nurse. But it has happened since I was 30. More Hospice patients passed on my shift than with the other nurses. By far. I walked in one day and the nurse getting off shift told me a Hospice patient was actively dying. The last time I had been there he looked really good and I thought he had been put on Hospice very prematurely. I thought he was going to actually be taken off of Hospice. So I said, “Oh no! He’s going to die on my shift!” Because I had something like 4 others who had passed recently. And it’s extremely sad. The other nurse said, “Oh no. This just happened. He isn’t going to pass away so soon”. I checked on him multiple times. I would spend as much time with him as I could. I always hated when people’s families weren’t there when people are on Hospice. I would never let my loved ones die alone. I was off in 15 minutes and checked on my patient. He was still alive. 10 minutes later the CNA’s came in to start their shift. They immediately called me. He was gone. I wasn’t upset because I had to do a bunch of paperwork or anything like that. It was incredibly emotionally draining for me to see people pass like that. I don’t know if you’ve seen the movie, “Dr. Sleep”. It’s the sequel to “The Shining”. The character of Danny Torrence discovers when he first starts working at a Hospice, the patients like him to be with them, in their rooms when they pass. One of his patients says, “ You’re a real/good Dr. Sleep.” Meaning his presence makes their passing easier. That is emotionally/psychically draining for me. Also, I was the only nurse on shift. I had to cover 100 units on all of my shifts. If I worked Swing Shift, I had to give 60 plus people their meds; TWICE on my shift. Plus take care of all of the Diabetic residents. And give eye drops, do wound care and whatever else. And the Hospice work was on top of all I had to do. I did 3-4 times the work of a Nurse in a Skilled Nursing Facility. Because Assisted Living isn’t considered a medical facility. And they aren’t regulated as such. Even though most of the people there are in need of as much care as patients in a SNiF. Or should have been in a hospital. I can’t tell you how many times I had to argue with residents and their children that they needed to go to the hospital. My job was to keep people alive and healthy. Or care for the dying. I didn’t have any time to have another job. I barely had time to finish the job I already had. I wore a pedometer. I walked/ran 6 miles a shift.

Yes, Diana is was and will always be. She was a compassionate lady who had a naive outlook in her young adult years. She was obviously a very loving person who was very beautiful kind and full of fun. She reminds me very much of my late brother, who looked like he was Diana’s brother. He hated his hair as it was naturally full and luxuriant. It was also naturally blonde. He was 5ft11 inches tall with golden skin and blue eyes. However it was the inner beauty he exhibited that caused all who met him to love him. He, like Diana had endless depths of empathy and love for others. Two beautiful souls. R. I.P.

I'll never understand why the French Ambulance did not immediately remove Diana from that vehicle and take her immediately to the nearest Hospital ! Worked for Cardiovascular Surgeons and was told a torn or ripped aorta from blunt force trauma is only 5% successful. The pressures in the aortic arch are very strong and very difficult to control bleeding.

Diana was attended by an off-duty doctor within minutes of the crash. He observed that she was conscious, showed no sign of serious injury, and was able to answer him. He focussed on the man in the front seat who was alive with head injuries. When he checked Diana, she was unconscious and her vital signs had ceased without apparent reason. He succeeded in getting her heart started.
When ambulances arrived, the off-duty man handed over to the doctor on board.
They could not remove the occupants of the car until a fire crew arrived and cut the car apart.
Diana lost vital signs and had to be revived before she could be placed in the ambulance. This can take 10-20 minutes of of intensive work
She died again in the ambulance. Normally, that would have been the end.
But because it was Diana, they stopped and worked on her again.
Why didn't they just race to to the hospital?
Because if she remained without vital signs for more than a few minutes, her brain would deteriorate. She needed to be ALIVE on arrival, because on arrival at hospital, it can take a few minutes to get the person into a theatre, even if they are fully prepared.
Each time that her heart was restarted, it would have taken longer, because each time, she was suffering internal bleeding and her blood pressure would have been lower.
The injury was a tear to the aorta. This is caused by the heart bouncing around inthe chest cavity. It is rare, but tall skinny people are more prone, and basketball players have been known to suffer this injury from impacts on the court. In other words, a cause of Diana's death was an inherent weakness, combined with factors that subjected her to being thrown around- speed, the car spinning, the impact and the lack of seatbelt.
The medical team appear to have done everything within their power to save her life. .

A major pulmonary vein had been torn resulting in internal bleeding that they could not control. If it hadn't taken the ambulance an hour to drive the 3 miles to the hospital maybe she would have survived. Outrageous. I've heard that France spends too much time stabilizing patients at the scene instead of making it more of a priority to get them to the hospital immediately. This differs from the way most other countries handle emergencies which is referred to as "scoop and run" as opposed to France's "stay and play" method of trying to deal with major medical issues at the scene. The ambulance workers claim that her blood pressure kept going down so they had to keep stopping to deal with that. I also wonder if anyone had done chest compressions which I would think would make internal bleeding in the chest worse.

The French policy of stabilising patients at the scene is flawed, as paramedics would not be able to ascertain a serious injury such as a torn aorta. Only immediate and fast delivery of the injured person to a hospital emergency room could have saved someone with the injury such as that Princess Diana sustained.

What is so often not mentioned, that besides the 3 that were killed were not wearing seat belts, there was no crash barrier down the central reserve of the underpass (look at any UK underpass) so the car was not deflected away from column 13 and would have considerably lessened the impact of the crash. The blood that was DNA tested, wasnt submitted to any toxicological tests and the blood that was subjugated to toxicological tests, was never DNA tested. Nobody with a BAC of 1.87% in combination with a carbon monoxide level of 20.8% drives a Mercedes. He would be unconscious. Not even the second test, just 6 hours after the first, which miracoulsy had dropped to a BAC of 1.73% in combination with a carbon monoxide level of 12.8% , would make Henry Paul capable of driving a Mercedes. There is conflicting evidence concerning the seatbelts. Where did the carbon monoxide come from?

Diana was first treated by an off-duty doctor who was passing by. He looked to her and saw she was conscious and did not have severe EXTERNAL injuries. He saw two of the men were dead, and that the man in the front had head injuries.
He attended the man in the front seat who seemed significantly worse than Diana.
When he returned to Diana she had lost vital signs- i.e. she had stopped breathing and had no pulse. He had no way of knowing the reason, because it was an internal injury. He succeeded in revving her.
Ambulances arrived, called by others in the tunnel. The doctor handed over to the doctors on board the ambulances (he was off duty, and did not realise the woman he was attending was Diana.)
They could not get Diana out of the car without an emergency fire and rescue crew. Her vital signs stopped again and she had to be revived.
This means that by the time she was ut into the ambulance, Diana had already DIED twice.
Because they realised that it was Diana, they crew went right on working on her, to try to re-start her heart, each time it stopped.
The problem was a rupture to the aorta. This is the main artery that leads from the heart. It means that every time they started her heart beating, the blood gushed out into her chest cavity. With every beat of her heart, her blood pressure dropped lower, and her brain got less blood. But the injury itself was completely invisible.

people keep saying that if the ambulance had been quicker, and if they had not stopped on the way, to work on her, THEN she would have survived. But given that she had already died twice BEFORE they even got her into the ambulance, then it is MOST UNLIKELY she would have lived, regardless of how quick and efficient the team might have been.
Yes infact!! Ï think some one hold on to the ambulance to long or deliberatly delayed it so her chances to servive became minimum..i think it was all a Set Up !!!

I am now 62 when I was younger I was always intrigued about death and what role I could do to help find the cause of death for the grieving families but when my dad found out he said to me who would marry some one who worked with dead bodies and back then their were no female pathologists in the field yet so I thought about becoming a funeral director slash embalmer and still hot the same response from family and so never got to be either but became a nurse instead but when my kids were growing up I totally encouraged them to become any thing they wanted to be and do it with my Grand kids now. They killed her in the ambulance. She walked to the vehicle and you could see it rocking back and forth . Then they stopped the vehicle and someone from the drivers side got aout and went to the back. Cutting the hands off is horrific!!!
