The look on your face when Headbanger opened was perfect. I laughed so hard I had tears. That was the same look I had when I heard Heavy Metal train wreck into Pop. My first was Gimme Chocolate. I'm 67 and a guitar player of 50 years and had NEVER heard anything like that. I've been a fan for 5 years now.
Haha. Same here. Gimme Chocolate was the first song/video I watched by Babymetal. At first, I was thinking “what in the world am I watching”. By the end of the song, I was singing along. 😂
My very first video of baby Metal was Catch Me if You Can, live at Knebworth in 2014 at their coming out party in England. I had just watched Wagakki Band's Kishikaisei and CMIYC was in the list of related videos. I was utterly hooked within 24 hours. First WGB, then BbayMetal, the SCANDAL, then Girlfriend and I was off to the races. The crowning moment though, was when I first hear Band-Maid and I was delirious. The rest after that has been a blur for a little over 5 years. I had been so down on music in the US as it was really awful content at the time and to hear this fine group of musicians and vocalists was amazing. I kind of felt like the person taking off that blindfold in Band Maid's DIce. And speaking of SCANDAL, I think they are waaaaaaay underrepresented in the reactor community. They have so much of a real rock song feel. It was like The Bangles, The Go Go's, The Motels and Bananarama had a baby with Steve Miller, lol. Such great music.
@@ReaverBharash Check out Stereopony also, they broke up recently but their music is pretty good. Also check out Li-sa-X Band with their song "Looking Up To You". great guitar work (Li-sa-X and Hazuki from Nemophila) and a great singer in Rina. Enjoy.
This concert was from 2013 and was called Legend 1997 because it was the year Su-Metal, the lead singer, was born. She had just turned 16 years old the day before the concert, and the backup singers Moa-Metal and Yui-Metal were 14 years old.
Babymetal was formed by their production group to revive the metal and hard rock genre in Japan, which hit a massive decline in the early 2000's. They used the fun energy of popular jpop groups that were on the rise due to the rise of anime culture and formed Babymetal to try and bridge the two and revive metal in Japan in the 2010s
That was to celebrate Moa's 20th birthday. If you listen closely, you will hear the difference in lyrics. The original was based on a 15 year old girl going to her first metal concert. They changed the lyrics to 20th year to honor Moa.
You're right. Babymetal use backing tracks and supporting vocals quite heavily, but it's usually keys/ambiance/electronic and maybe a bit of extra texture to help the heavy guitar riffs and occasionally a booming bass/drum. If the kami band are there, the band is live and doing 90% of everything you hear. Some of their really old gigs had guys in skeleton suits called the babybones and they mimed. Su is mostly live bar the heavily effected parts and occasionally sings over a backing, but she's so clean/consistent anyway you don't even notice it. Moa and Yui would often shout/sing over a backing recording of themselves or just let the backing track do the work. After all, they are non-stop dancing for a whole gig and it would be so hard to pull off without some help. One way you can tell how live BM are is this all started when they were young teens and their voices (and skills) have matured as they are now adults. You can hear this in performances of these songs over the years.
@naycnay at this time in their career you’re correct. With that being said I got to see them in 2019 and it was much more of a ‘raw’ show and it was amazing. The only backing tracks were synths. Nothing vocally or band. It was AWESOME!
Give me chocolate is a fully back track song. You can see here, there is no musicians on stage, but persons in black costumes with skeleton pattern. They hold the guitars, but actually don't playing, they are just mimes. I tink real musicians (Kami Band) having a short break at this time.
@@ПодрывУстоев-к7н The Skeleton dudes are the Babybones. They were the mime band before the Kami band was formed. They were used intermittently for a little while, but then BM became "live" almost all the time.
Welcome back to the Foxhole and BabyMetal Galaxy. I lol when you paused after the first "hedoban hedoban" and look at the camera. Another great reaction, and just like you saw the party on BM live concerts is wild, especially with this song becoming super fun into something like a cult.👀 Like i said in my previous comment you're arriving to a special time coz they've been releasing since 2 months ago their new singles, 2 already out and 3 more coming next year, along with a live performance and album release, they will come back to this same venue you're just watching, Makuhari Messe is the name of this huge japanese convention center located outside of Tokyo in Chiba Prefecture. Everyone in BM fandom is having a great time with this, so stay tuned for more, don't worry rushing into hear those songs coz they're giving us a new BM side we've never seen before, of course they're already grown up now and with more mature sound. Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!! is one of BM fans favorite and got special meaning too. Song is about a 15 years old girl celebrating her birthday going to her first live concert, probably metal, while having melancholy for leaving her childhood behind. Isn't about any of our girls but they embraced this song like it was made for them, you'll find many special versions of this, even when they celebrate their 20th Birthday. 15 is an important coming of age for Japanese girls, 20 is another important date. This was at Legend 1997 (that's the title of this live concert referring to SuMetal birthyear) in 2013 celebrating SuMetal 16th Birthday, and the whole concert was special, if you want to know the rest of the songs finishing this, those are: - "Akatsuki" Unfinished Version, a beautiful SuMetal solo version with only a piano behind, the original song is a power/speed metal balad - "Babymetal Death", be ready for this insane ending, The live concert and also this song got plenty of tributes to the greatest metal bands, like Metallica and X-Japan, specially Yoshiki, the gong at the end is one of those, you'll find more and plenty of this to add to their lore. The official MV is also creepy for some fans, I guess the organ gave that effect, you'll also see the neckbrace there for the first time which is a tribute to Yoshiki from X-Japan. Another thing that you don't see here or so much in their live performance is when YuiMetal and MoaMetal are having fun with cryo or smoke gun is that the choreography on this part with them down on their knees and doing the "dogeza hedoban" which is like bowing down back and forth summoning the metal spirit represented by the neckbrace while SuMetal is standing with the mic rise up and her relentless death stare, that's another moment we called -NotACult- 👀 The Kami Band here are insane set of elite musicians who were send to help with the metal sound, "kami" means roughly "god", they're wearing burial white robes and corpse face paint to represent those spiritual entities. They rotate so probably you won't see some of them in all live concerts (especially the guitarrists). They are: - Míkio Fujioka, god of guitar, a beloved member, sadly he passed away in 2018. (R.I.P.) - Leda Cygnus, god of guitar, he's the only Kami Band member who's credited as a session musician when recording some albums tracks. - BOH, god of bass, he's the bald one and not only got amazing talent but her fun way to enjoy reminds me Flea from RHCP. You can see at the end (when SuMetal is crawling upstairs) his head got written "Happy Birthday". - Hideki Aoyama,, god of drums, he comes from a family of expert drummers, and his father is very famous in Japan music scene. I would love if you can go with the rest of the songs of this special live concert but if you want another song that ranks high as a favorite you can watch: - _"Ijime Dame Zettai"_ live at Sonisphere Festival 2014 and you can witness a turning point in their career and a different type of live performance unlike this one with big top notch production. "Gimme Chocolate!!" is another great hit and the most viewed on their channel, you either love it or hate it but it won't leave you indifferent. Is all about wanting some chocolate but worried about the weight just like any other normal girl. As you can see they have some songs with deep meaning and others without so much to think and just to have fun and party, always expect the unexpected with BabyMetal. This song was performed before Headbanger!! that's why you see an alternative band they used to backing up the girls called "baby-bones", they just there to bring some show air playing instruments, the real band "Kami Band" play during the encore section and last five (four actually) songs of this special live concert. There are backing tracks but there's no Kami Band DJ on the stage, if any is off stage. Keep binging with BM songs and enjoy the ride into the Foxhole. See you next time!🦊🤘🔥
Su's vocal articulation has always been one of my favourite things about baby metal. Her vocals are always so clean, almost studio quality, without fail, and she's only got more refined and talented as the years go on
Expect the unexpected. That's how Babymetal works. Eventually you'll get used to their little voices. But their vocalist, Su-Metal is a force on stage. Enjoy your Babymetal journey. 🦊🦊🦊🔥🔥🔥🤟🤟🤟
@@Cheezyxyz Suggest song list from this point on 1) Karate the office video 2) Road of Resistance Live in Japan ( you will need to use a filter on the screen to avoid a bock but the show is epic and worth it) 3) Rondo of Nightmare with Mischiefs of Metal Gods Intro 4) BabyMetal and Rob Halford perform Pain Killer and Breaking The Law
Here's the fun part: Knowing what you know now about the kinds of shows they can and have put on, imagine what they could do with Monochrome... Then you really understand why we're so stoked for this new album. Those concerts are going to be OFF THE CHAIN!
Welcome back - and great double reaction. Legend 1997 has already been explained, it was a big part of their evolution. This was the show where they took the final big step from their beginning as a sub-unit of a JPop Idol group to becoming an independent band in their own right. The first part of the concert was performed entirely to backing track, only the vocals were live. The guys in skeleton suits were only pretending to play their instruments. They were known as 'Babybones' and, while BABYMETAL were learning their craft, the Babybones guys would be on stage just for the show ... BABYMETAL started very small and could not afford live musicians until they had started to establish themselves. The live band (the Kami Band - some of Japan's very best session musicians) came on for the last 5 songs also marking that final step for BABYMETAL from being JPop Idols to becoming a metal band. 'Gimme Chocolate' was played earlier in the show, so there was a lot of backing track, as you said, including all the instrumentals. Also as you said, it is just one of their fun, feel good songs - but it was the video for that (using the footage from this show but with the studio audio dubbed over it) that went viral and got them noticed internationally - I think it has somewhere near 170million views now. 'Headbanger' was later in the show among the 5 encore songs with the Kami Band playing live. There are two better quality videos of this same performance which don't have the audio breaks and hiccups (they have less views than this one so show up lower down the search). You can find one of them on the "abr metal" channel under the title 'BabyMetal Legend of 1997 Headbanger'. Legend 1997 in December 2013 was 3 months before BABYMETAL released their first album. They were already establishing themselves as one of the best live acts. This was the last big show where the Babybones guys appeared on stage (they did a couple of shows in Singapore and Taiwan after this). When they released their first album early in 2014 BABYMETAL played two big shows at the legendary Budokan in Tokyo and the Kami Band became their full time support for all live shows from there on. The more songs and performances you react to the more they will surprise you - over 50 songs and you will be hard pressed to find two alike ... just expect the unexpected. 🦊
As others have said, this was in Dec., 2013 for Su-metal's 16th Birthday. She was born in1997 so that's how the name of the concert was derived. But they just Skyrocketed after this show! Released their first album a few months later in March 2014 and became the youngest group to headline at the World Famous Nippon Budokan and just kept on going up from there!! Hell, Kerrang! magazine listed them as the "Best Live Band" in 2016 and Metal Hammer and the Alternative Press Music Awards both listed Babymetal as the "Best International Band" and AIM Independent Music Awards listed them as the "Best Live Act"...and the awards go on and on!! There last album "Metal Galaxy" dropped in October 2019 and hit #1 in the United States on Billboards "Top Rock Album" chart and their 4th album "The Other One" is set to drop in March 2023! Best Babymetal is LIVE Babymetal!! Thanks for another great reaction and as always.... Put your Kitsune UP!! Po! (just an FYI - stay away from the Glastonbury performances...the BBC really screwed up the sound on those..at least don't watch those for reactions but you can watch them later on your own if you like)
excellent content Cheezy-Metal, welcome to the wonderful world of BABYMETAL, do yourself a favor and dive deep into the fox-hole, the "ONE" will be there to guide you, it is an amazing journey to behold.
Thank you for your review of one of the versions of Headbanger. This is one of BABYMETAL’s earliest songs and has numerous versions. There’s the official version in which Su-Metal plays the teenage daughter of a middle class family fantasizing about her future in her bedroom. Oddly enough, that fantasy seems to have come completely true. There’s a later version which was the first time that BABYMETAL was backed by a live band. And there’s an insane version and which Su-Metal comes out on stage in a coffin. This is not to mention the version in which Yuimetal takes the lead and another version were Moametal takes the lead. My favorite is their first performance at the forum in London because the audience went completely wild. That wasn’t a concert. It was a party. It may be not clear in the video but when Su-metal raises the microphone stand, she turns the microphone to face the audience. This is the signal to the audience that it’s their time to sing. Headbanger is just so fantastic. 🎶🍅⚡️❤️🎵
Babymetal's name is a play on the words "heavy metal", as, in Japanese, the word "baby" (ベビー bebī) rhymes with "heavy" (ヘビー hebī). "Baby" may indicate cuteness, "metal" - intensity. Also, it can be interpreted as "newborn metal".
BABYMETAL songs are quite diverse as metal songs go. The (Kami) band are highly skilled musicians with many years of music schooling. Their live performance does include back-tracking and sequenced segments. If you're new to BABYMETAL, their story is both beautiful and tragic. Every song is great. The songs we just enjoyed are good songs but a couple of my least favorite BABYMETAL songs. To be sure, no matter what kind of metal music you enjoy, no matter what kind of music you enjoy. BABYMETAL has something just for your liking.
The order of monochrome → headbanger is very interesting. The shocking expression when you see the three of them for the first time in the headbanger prelude is the best. If people only know the new songs and want to know early BABYMETAL, this video is perfect.
Please keep these BabyMetal reactions coming. The only thing better than rocking out to BabyMetal is seeing someone else discover and fall in love with them
As a 63 year old man i feel kind of pervy watching Babymetal, but these girls are metal. Id love to go to a gig, but even though there a lot older now, its still feels wrong.
Mate, if there's a band you want to see live never worry about your age, i'd never have seen Baby Metal, Eagles of Death Metal, Motorhead or the Beastie Boys if I thought that way
Top three first things said by reactors to Babymetal: I didn't expect that What am I watching? Why does this work? Welcome to the Foxhole! I found them last year and have been hooked since.
Ok, I would be panting after climbing up the stairs to the stage, and those girls jump and act and sing without heavy breathing. Impossible great. Hail to the Fox God!
BABYMETAL is shock and awe. 50+ songs, all genres of metal. My preference next would be BABYMETA Death at this same show legend 1997. The musicians here are Mikio Fujoka guitar, Leda Cygnus guitar, BOH 6 string guitar, Aoyana Hideki drums.
Good reaction 🤙I literally envy anyone who gets to listen to Gimmie Chocolate for the first time. It was my intro to Babymetal and little did I know, as lame as it sounds, that it would actually change my life. I have learned and found so much because of these girls and my trip down the foxhole. Can't wait for my trip to Japan next year 🦊🤘
Great reaction! They are quite different, aren't they? It's astonishing how much the choreographed dancing adds to the buildup of energy and the entertainment value, isn't it? I didn't know that Metal needed that until I saw BABYMETAL for the first time. I'm a also amazed at how they manage to create songs that are both great Metal songs as well as great Pop songs at the same time.
If you notice, the band in the background during Gimme Chocolate was different from the band in Headbanger. This show was the transition from using full backing tracks with the "Baby Bones" to using the Kami Band, a live band using some of the best studio musicians in Japan. The Baby Bones were actors, dressed in black skeleton costumes pretending to play the music. The Kami band wears white with white face makeup and are incredible musicians. This show was the transition from Su-Metal, the main singer, from being a j-pop singer to a metal goddess, and BabyMetal becoming a true metal band.
i’ll never be able to get over their crowd control. i dont think ive ever seen a crowd so in sync with any band yet… its absolutely unreal. i’d die for live babymetal tickets
Babymetal makes for the best reaction videos being so unique, unexpected, every song is different and so very talented. I would suggest you react to "Ijime,Dame,Zettai - Live at Sonisphere 2014,UK (OFFICIAL)" - it is their first show outside Japan in front of a UK audience.
Love watching the look on Reactors faces the first time seeing BabyMetal as well as hearing them . BabyMetal, get this response anywhere in the world they perform in front of their fans . If you want to see a response from a metal festival audience, 95% dont know who they are ! Watch their first performance at a metal festival outside Asia . Sonisphere UK in 2014, a song called Ijime Dame Zettai. It was the last song in a 5 song set . Great reaction Welcome to the Foxhole 😁🤘🦊🤘
Whenever I watch a group with such and choreographed performance I am always impressed with just how many hours and all the sweat and pain that goes into the practice sessions. You know they have to spend many, many hours working on the performance.
Babymetal is like the Spanish Inquisition. Nobody expects them. I've seen your reaction of Monochrome. Nice way to get to know them, as it is their latest song, whereas Gimme Choco and Headbanger are from their 1st album. They're already big during the show you saw, but not as big as to be able to pay the musicians for a full concert. Thus, the guys in consumes are actors, they're not really playing anything. Headbanger on the other hand, was live. But they've grown out of that, and soon after that, thy were using live music on every concert. Wellcome to the Foxhole! You said you liked Monochrome for its heavy music/soft vocals contrast? May I suggest you listen to this song, from Yuyoyuppe: "Secret Treasure feat. F9-Kiyono". He is one of Babymetal's producers and responsable for Monochrome. You may also like "Vanished Truth" from him. As for that stare... That was Su Metal's Death Stare. Other than that she's called Queen by the fans, due to her colossal stage presence and crowd control. Lastly, if you really want the full Babymetal experience, the one video that will show you all they can do, look no further than "Road of Resistance - Live in Japan". That is a must see for every one who wants to get into Babymetal. 🤘🏻🦊🤘🏻
Glad to see you back for more BABYMETAL. A lot of good info was already given so I will just say have fun jumping down the Fox hole and enjoy this amazing and truly unique band. Personally for me, I have never enjoyed a band so much. And they are making you smile the entire time. That is one of the things they do best. Make us smile. 🤘🦊🤘 And you already noticed Su's famous Death Glare :)
The greatest thing about this version of Gimme Chocolate is the fact that it's a song about wanting to eat chocolate free of guilt IN FRONT OF A HOLY MARY STATUE THAT IS THERE GOD ONLY KNOWS WHY... Random AF, but at the same time not... I just love it!
Seen them live in Vegas once, and I have since pledged to buy tickets to every show they ever play In Vegas in perpetuity. These girls do not. stop. moving. during their set. Crazy cardio, and sure, they're obviously not singing every single bar you hear, but who the hell cares?! What a show. I was exhausted just standing in the crowd watching.
1997 is the singers birthyear. This was her birthday concert for her 16th birthday. Only one band member died during the show (You will see one day, LOL). Keyboards/growls are on the backing track. The girls also fight Godzilla in their free time.
There are SO many live performances to go over it’s hard to know what to recommend. I think possibly the best example of a live performance and crowd control is Road of Resistance live in Japan. Epic. Consider as you watch that they were 16/15/15 at the time. Incredible.
They are the real deal. 100% fabrication and that is just fine. Su-Metal is a star and so educated. Following Perfume and One OK Rock, BabyMetal is a huge effort. Made a number one on billboard and the last Japanese group to do that was in 1963. They do a few shows like this. Huge productions with massive tech. On the road they are as stripped down as can be. Smaller venues or opening for others like Guns N Roses.. In an interview someone asked Slash if he'd seen Babymetal and he said he had. He says that he had, asking him if he'd play with him. Two years later Babymetal, opened all the Japanese shows for Guns N Roses and a Red Hot Chili Peppers tour. KORN .. METALLICA ... The two songs they did with Rob Halford .. King Slayer by Bring me the Horizon and Su-Metal/Babymetal ...
I have been a fan of metal since i could walk. Thrash death metal etc. I find this Babymetal fucking sick. Its so fun and entertaining. And the crowd just going off.
lol yeah 1997 straight from maternity hospital when the lead singer was just born and the other two girls were only itching sensations in their fathers' testicles 🤣
First time I thought weird . 2nd time...Wow...and could not stop repeating.About 20times in midnight. And then I searched reldvant videos until morning. It was about 8 years ago and went to mamy concerts including Tokyo Dome two days.
I love that you go back to the start. Just hear it from the beginning as many times as it deserves! Yay! Reactions? I'd much rather see something more genuine like this.
I just stumbled upon your channel and now Im binging your videos. I adore your critiques as well as your enjoyment of the songs. Also...has anyone ever told you that you have a voice MEANT for ASMR? Your way of softly-speaking is almost hypnotic.
Baby metal very creative and group yes 2 dancers are younger then singer she 17 As a group they are amazing great always come out great music. I love how they always interact with the crowd every song they do. They are also south Korea rock band they also like mixing different and collabing with other artist different cultures. Music they did song with a rapper from Thailand
Very good! These two videos are from the same show, but in reverse order. In Gimme Chocolate he was with the scenographic band. Headbanger was played in the second part of the show, already with Kami Band. These concerts from the beginning of the formation of the fanbase are really cool!
The version of Headbanger you reacted to is the first time the Kami band played live and the version of Gimme Chocolate is from the same concert with actors (Babybones) as the band, Su, Yui & Moa are singing to prerecorded music on that one.
If you want to see some crowd participation, try _Road of Resistance_ (live in Japan). That one is a power metal anthem, so yet another sound from them.
Yes! More Babymetal! So stoked you did live shows for these Cheezy! And yes, they have some of the most dedicated fans that will bring an insane amount of energy to each show. Those girls can also maintain that level of energy on every song, it's pretty wild
My favorite from this show was also Death. I thought the whole show was great but death was such a great finale' and really pulled in the crowd. I definitely would like to see you do death next. To me, alot of the songs from this show sound even better than the studio versions.
Catch me if you can after the break was the highlight song for me from the Legend 1997 concert. All the reactors do the Budakon Black Night version for the Kami band intro but the girls crush harder at the Legend show
is weird, even here in Argentina where i am now, there is metalheads listening to babymetal, and yeah, lots of oldheads that you would never guess they may like this
I was suuuper into babymetal when I was in high school, around the time of this first albums release… I remember wanting to be them so damn bad with the pigtails and bouncy skirts 😭 they were the coolest thing. I haven’t been following them as closely in the last few years though (the latest things I knew were Elevator Girl, after Yui left I believe, and Kingslayer with BMTH) so I was just checking out some of what I missed and had a whole nostalgia trip. I’m interested to see what this new album will sound like.
The reaction to Headbanger suggests you'd like the collaboration they did with BMTH (it's called Kingslayer). Also, I'm guessing Megitsune's already been suggested a lot, that's my favourite.
Love Babymetal, the Fox God has blessed me with a ticket to see them in April, I can't wait to see them live! You should check out Road to Resistance (live) if you want to see a show.

This concert was from 2013 and was called Legend 1997 because it was the year Su-Metal, the lead singer, was born. She had just turned 16 years old the day before the concert, and the backup singers Moa-Metal and Yui-Metal were 14 years old.
And if you like this, you will LOVE Road of Resistance Live In Japan.

their stage presence is seriously unmatched, i have never seen anything like them when performing live. The moabanger consert was just ridicilous.
Just saw them yesterday, they blew that place up. I thought everyone was gonna go nuts for DethKlok, but it wasn't even close.
Momobanger was also something else!
The Legend 1997 show was back in 2013. Su-metal was born in 1997 and this concert was a celebration of her 16:th birthday.
My favourite live version is the one where Su gives her mic to Moa who sings the second part.
same
I saw some very rare version, where Yui sings. But i saw it only once, and never can find it later.
That was to celebrate Moa's 20th birthday. If you listen closely, you will hear the difference in lyrics. The original was based on a 15 year old girl going to her first metal concert. They changed the lyrics to 20th year to honor Moa.
@@ПодрывУстоев-к7н I've seen them too. One of the reactors had dug up video of both Moa and Yui singing on their 15th birthday. It was pretty cool.
Amen to that
You're right.

That's how good these girls are. Way ahead of their time.

Lol! Legend 1997 Apocalypse actually happened at the end of 2013.
“I wasn’t expecting that” This is the correct reaction to your first time hearing BabyMetal especially this one.
Welcome back to the Foxhole and BabyMetal Galaxy.
I lol when you paused after the first "hedoban hedoban" and look at the camera. Another great reaction, and just like you saw the party on BM live concerts is wild, especially with this song becoming super fun into something like a cult.👀
Like i said in my previous comment you're arriving to a special time coz they've been releasing since 2 months ago their new singles, 2 already out and 3 more coming next year, along with a live performance and album release, they will come back to this same venue you're just watching, Makuhari Messe is the name of this huge japanese convention center located outside of Tokyo in Chiba Prefecture.
This was at Legend 1997 (that's the title of this live concert referring to SuMetal birthyear) in 2013 celebrating SuMetal 16th Birthday, and the whole concert was special, if you want to know the rest of the songs finishing this, those are:
- "Akatsuki" Unfinished Version, a beautiful SuMetal solo version with only a piano behind, the original song is a power/speed metal balad
- "Babymetal Death", be ready for this insane ending,
The live concert and also this song got plenty of tributes to the greatest metal bands, like Metallica and X-Japan, specially Yoshiki, the gong at the end is one of those, you'll find more and plenty of this to add to their lore.
The official MV is also creepy for some fans, I guess the organ gave that effect, you'll also see the neckbrace there for the first time which is a tribute to Yoshiki from X-Japan.
Another thing that you don't see here or so much in their live performance is when YuiMetal and MoaMetal are having fun with cryo or smoke gun is that the choreography on this part with them down on their knees and doing the "dogeza hedoban" which is like bowing down back and forth summoning the metal spirit represented by the neckbrace while SuMetal is standing with the mic rise up and her relentless death stare, that's another moment we called -NotACult- 👀
The Kami Band here are insane set of elite musicians who were send to help with the metal sound, "kami" means roughly "god", they're wearing burial white robes and corpse face paint to represent those spiritual entities.
They rotate so probably you won't see some of them in all live concerts (especially the guitarrists).
They are:
- Míkio Fujioka, god of guitar, a beloved member, sadly he passed away in 2018. (R.I.P.)
- Leda Cygnus, god of guitar, he's the only Kami Band member who's credited as a session musician when recording some albums tracks.
I would love if you can go with the rest of the songs of this special live concert but if you want another song that ranks high as a favorite you can watch:
- _"Ijime Dame Zettai"_ live at Sonisphere Festival 2014 and you can witness a turning point in their career and a different type of live performance unlike this one with big top notch production.
See you next time!🦊🤘🔥
"The Kami band here are an elite set of insane musicians" - I guess so!
🦊🦊🦊🔥🔥🔥🤟🤟🤟
Yes they are indeed METAL. However, instead of shouting anger, it is HAPPY METAL that can cheer people up and make them smile😁
100%
@UCePJ_AaOolr72_KQ9pM_s-Q 😒
yes babymetal are masters of live performance, their music vids are crap by comparison.
🔥🦊🔥
@@AaronCross760I would argue karate and megitsune had good music videos (still love the lives too). Metali is good too
Welcome back - and great double reaction.
Yep. We got another one. Kitsune Up!
If people only know the new songs and want to know early BABYMETAL, this video is perfect.
right? that was my thought too, going from monocrhome to Headbanger was perfect for a reaction video!
@@JohnDoe-hg1im 🙌Give me five !
Love this group. These ladies have become like my morning coffee. Their music just makes me smile.
these girls are so committed to what they do, they are brilliant. Love them
Please keep these BabyMetal reactions coming.
The only thing better than rocking out to BabyMetal is seeing someone else discover and fall in love with them
100% agree 🤘🦊🤘
As a 63 year old man i feel kind of pervy watching Babymetal, but these girls are metal. Id love to go to a gig, but even though there a lot older now, its still feels wrong.
Mate, if there's a band you want to see live never worry about your age, i'd never have seen Baby Metal, Eagles of Death Metal, Motorhead or the Beastie Boys if I thought that way
Top three first things said by reactors to Babymetal:
I didn't expect that
What am I watching?
Why does this work?
Welcome to the Foxhole! I found them last year and have been hooked since.
Ok, I would be panting after climbing up the stairs to the stage, and those girls jump and act and sing without heavy breathing. Impossible great. Hail to the Fox God!
BABYMETAL is shock and awe. 50+ songs, all genres of metal. My preference next would be BABYMETA Death at this same show legend 1997. The musicians here are Mikio Fujoka guitar, Leda Cygnus guitar, BOH 6 string guitar, Aoyana Hideki drums.
Death is too early for this guy. Let him learn the basics before we throw him in the pit.
Actually it's shock and awww It's kawaii metal afterall🙂
@@autohmae 😂
The legend 1997 refers to the birthday of Su-metal, the lead vocalist. She was only 16 year old then.
Headbanger. A truly extraordinary music video. What a song! Love the reaction.
This is art.
That level of audience participation is pretty normal for them.
The stare is the famous Su-metal Death Glare. Her side-eye can cut through steel.
100%
BABYMETAL FOREVER
🤘🤘🤘
All hail The Fox god
i’ll never be able to get over their crowd control. i dont think ive ever seen a crowd so in sync with any band yet… its absolutely unreal. i’d die for live babymetal tickets

Babymetal makes for the best reaction videos being so unique, unexpected, every song is different and so very talented. I would suggest you react to "Ijime,Dame,Zettai - Live at Sonisphere 2014,UK (OFFICIAL)" - it is their first show outside Japan in front of a UK audience.
ive been watching a bunch of different reaction videos to babymetal, and this reaction is by far my favourite
Thank you my friend!
Hahaha Amazing! Very fun! 😄😄😄🤘🤘🤘
Sonisphere UK in 2014, a song called
Ijime Dame Zettai. It was the last song in a 5 song set . Great reaction
Welcome to the Foxhole 😁🤘🦊🤘
Whenever I watch a group with such and choreographed performance I am always impressed with just how many hours and all the sweat and pain that goes into the practice sessions. You know they have to spend many, many hours working on the performance.
The ladies and the Kami band. I can't imagine the hours spent on pre-show
Babymetal is like the Spanish Inquisition.
And you already noticed Su's famous Death Glare :)
🤘
This show was in 2013, was a show to celebrate the 16th Su-metal birthday who born in 1997
Yeah honestly this is the era where I loved “Baby Metal” the most. Cheers!!!

Welcome to the Fox Hole enjoy your stay.
enjoy! 🍅💀🐼🦊
I love watching people fall down the Babymetal foxhole.
Audience is a star in Babymetal shows too!!
Yeah, the One.
They are just too amazing! Impresses me all the time. My mind was blew away when I first time discovered them. 🔥🔥🔥🤘🦊🤘
Fans is part of the band at that point !!
1997 is the singers birthyear. This was her birthday concert for her 16th birthday. Only one band member died during the show (You will see one day, LOL). Keyboards/growls are on the backing track. The girls also fight Godzilla in their free time.
The golden age of BabyMetal. Check BabyMetal Death from the same show
🔥🦊🔥
I introduced my three-year-old a couple days ago to Babymetal and now he can't get enough of it
Early BabyMetal is best BabyMetal, they Rocked!
Check ijime, dame, zettai live at sonisphere 2014 and road of resistance live at japan next. Megitsune at legend 1997 is also good version.
I can't wait for you to react to Road of Resistance live in Japan. You're gunna love the crowd control and crowd participation in that one!
This was in 2013, and Su-Metal had turned 16 years old the day before the concert. It was called Legend 1997 because she was born in 1997.
“………………….this is pretty sick” HA! GOT ‘IM, the Fox God has taken another soul 🦊
lol yeah 1997 straight from maternity hospital when the lead singer was just born and the other two girls were only itching sensations in their fathers' testicles 🤣
First time I thought weird .
2nd time...Wow...and could not stop repeating.About 20times in midnight. And then I searched reldvant videos until morning.
It was about 8 years ago and went to mamy concerts including Tokyo Dome two days.
Seen them live several times, twice in Japan and in Australia. One of the best live shows out there for sure!! 🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻
I love that you go back to the start.
Just hear it from the beginning as many times as it deserves! Yay!
Reactions? I'd much rather see something more genuine like this.
🤘😎🧀
that pause timing was perfect loooooool
I just stumbled upon your channel and now Im binging your videos. I adore your critiques as well as your enjoyment of the songs.
Also...has anyone ever told you that you have a voice MEANT for ASMR? Your way of softly-speaking is almost hypnotic.
Thank you my friend! 😎 🧀🤘
Very cool. They are so much fun! Glad you were having fun watching them as well!
Road Of Resistance will blow your mind.
Bienvenido a la magia de baby metal,
🤘
Try " Catch Me If You Can" Live at Black Night Legend Doomsday show
Highlights the band, 3 Guitar solos, Drum Solo, best song!
カワイイメタルの世界へようこそ🤘🦊
Welcome to the foxhole
“Let’s go back….I’m going all the way back” (looks into camera)
A FAN WAS BORN lol I love it
🤘🤘
You need to see the song Death by them. More so the video as far as performance goes... amazing. From this same show. Death 1997
@3:24 "Let's go back, I'm going all the way back" :)
Their stage presence is seriously a GIFT ❤❤❤
🤘🦊 BABYMETAL 🦊🤘
At this point (2013) they are just 16, 14 and 14 yo!
Miss you Yui 🍅👸 Tomato Princess
I think their best performance so far was budokan mischiefs of the metal gods into rondo of nightmare
nice reaction, did you know that Headbanger is also sung by yui and Moa as main vovalists. If you and the community wants, you should react to it^^
If you want to see some crowd participation, try _Road of Resistance_ (live in Japan).
For the greatest Su "stares" look up Baby Metal in Cleveland, full show, with the new costumes ( their best)
The reaction of pausing the music is classic 😂😂😂😂
My favorite from this show was also Death. I thought the whole show was great but death was such a great finale' and really pulled in the crowd. I definitely would like to see you do death next. To me, alot of the songs from this show sound even better than the studio versions.
Catch me if you can after the break was the highlight song for me from the Legend 1997 concert. All the reactors do the Budakon Black Night version for the Kami band intro but the girls crush harder at the Legend show
I recommend 'In the name of' and 'BxMxC live in paris' and 'rondo of nightmare w/ mischiefs of the metal gods intro'
BABYMETAL 🤯🤯🤯
Gimme Chocolate is them singing about "Give me chocolate! but I'm worried it will make me fat!"
is weird, even here in Argentina where i am now, there is metalheads listening to babymetal, and yeah, lots of oldheads that you would never guess they may like this
another concert if wanna hear gimme chocolate
I was suuuper into babymetal when I was in high school, around the time of this first albums release… I remember wanting to be them so damn bad with the pigtails and bouncy skirts 😭 they were the coolest thing. I haven’t been following them as closely in the last few years though (the latest things I knew were Elevator Girl, after Yui left I believe, and Kingslayer with BMTH) so I was just checking out some of what I missed and had a whole nostalgia trip. I’m interested to see what this new album will sound like.
babymetal
The reaction to Headbanger suggests you'd like the collaboration they did with BMTH (it's called Kingslayer).
Also, I'm guessing Megitsune's already been suggested a lot, that's my favourite.
Love Babymetal, the Fox God has blessed me with a ticket to see them in April, I can't wait to see them live! You should check out Road to Resistance (live) if you want to see a show.
Check out their festivals performances.. Downloads
