Barrett got tore down. Then Akron. I’ve been gone for a long time but it’s heart breaking knowing Fidel’s is gone. So much blood and sweet left in those wrestling matches, so many laughs with my crew. Thank you for the memories, golden rams forever.
Holy crap...there's my old locker! And who can forget learning how to drive in the simulator parked out back....went there in 1976.....we used to cross the street to smoke..lol
Sad indeed. My elementary school sort of fared the same fate when it closed in 2003 in favor of the brand new building built on the other side of town. That school opened in 1914 as a high school, underwent two expansions, and eventually became a middle school and then an elementary school. My brother's class (he's 4 years younger than me) was the last class to ever graduate from that school. The building still stands today, as it was sold to a company that (to my knowledge) only utilizes the gym in the back of the building, leaving the rest of the building to basically decay. Last I knew, the city wants to buy it back and turn it into a mixed use building, but like anything in this city, it's proven to be nothing but wishful thinking thus far. I wish i had a video like this of my old elementary school building. Looking at this video, the building does look like it has a lot of history behind it, and I'm sure it can be extensively renovated, but at what cost when compared to building a whole new structure. It looks like space is an issue here, and so is the layout of the building, plus, aside from functionality, schools today also look for safety features, and from this video, it looks like this building doesn't provide either of those. Anyway, nice vid, and I'm glad you have this video to look back at.
I went to Hatton Elementary and Hyre Jr. High and despite being more-than structurally sound buildings they both suffered this same fate. I also graduated from Ellet and though it holds just as many great memories (and maybe a few that aren't so hot) I can say that building is definitely in need of replacement.

Don't dream its over by crowded house....

No, outside of the first track(which was Creative Commons), I pulled directly from UA-cam's music playlist(posting as my other channel)
