Travolta lives in my town. Can see his big plane coming in for a landing from time to time and can certainly hear it as he’s coming in. You used to be able to go to Walmart early in the morning and catch him there but that doesn’t happen much anymore once word got out.

Correction....Brady sold that California mansion for $60 million to Dr Dre. $40 was the price for a buyer they had until Dre added $20 mill more after just selling Dr Beats. Dre also put up his current home at the time for $40 mill so when it sells, he only paid $20 mill for Bradys home.
I don't think I'd be very good at being rich. Although I'd love one of those homes. None of the other stuff really interests me. I don't see the point in having all those cars when you can only drive one at a time. Clothes don't really interest me. I think they main thing I'd like is a cleaner and a chef. That's mainly it. It's so strange, these "homes". Yeah, they have money to throw away, but they are so spacious! With rooms that go untouched. Why need all of that? Plus, they travel for months to film so the mansion is empty most of the time except when employees are there maintaining this huge accessory.

Imagine youre a kid in school and you go to a school with a lot of rich kids. But you live in the ghetto. Uh, do you think anyone from school gonna want to come to your house for anything?
When you're a celebrity, social connections are really important for career opportunities. So it's stupid if you have a cruddy house.
Not to mention property taxes and utilities, and most end up selling for a significance loss.
THEIR MONEY THEIR CHOICE.
Because they can't exactly live a normal life. They have to live on their compounds, or at places restricted to the general public. So their homes are built to accomodate the things they can't do like the rest of us. For instance, they can't go to the store like a normal person, they can't go for a walk, they can't go to a regular gym or spa, they can't go to a normal doctor's office or go bowling, or to a theme park etc. (unless they rent it out for the day, I guess). So they build their own. At a certain level of wealth and celebrity, leaving your home requires so much planning and coordination, including security, making arrangements for arriving at the destination, avoiding paps, etc. which means you're spending a lot of money just to leave. And there's always someone trying to profit off of you - whether a staff member somewhere selling a story, or a hostess tipping off paparazzi, or a service person (hairstylist, masseuse, whatever) that wants to build their career on your name. So they bring those things to their home instead, relying on NDAs and long-term vetted staff, because it's much less of a hassle.
