@@mrarivv0007 that’s not always true, old age affects all of us differently. Genetics can be weird and complex. Unfortunately you can work out all your life and spend all your time outside and you might still get osteoporosis, arthritis and alzheimers. It’s one of the sad truths about our world

While I appreciate these type vids, it never ceases to amaze me at how many people don’t know the most basic of things. Like to read the instructions that come with your scope.
Don't forget to establish proper cheek weld, close your eyes for 30 seconds, open them and adjust your diopter within 3-5 seconds. Your eye will adjust when the reticle is slightly out of focus, and it takes about 3-5 seconds for it to do it. So, cheek weld, then close your eyes for 30 seconds, then open eyes and quickly adjust it. Close your eyes for 30 seconds again, open them and check that is immediately in focus. If it's not, but clears up in a few seconds, do it all over again until it is immediately in focus the instant you open your eyes.
I’ll add the reason for a muscularly relaxed stock weld, resting the entire weight of head over stock comb, is to anchor sight alignment and thus prevent sight misalignment, which is angular error that increases with distance.
That hard to do when my eyes adjust like shit when I’m not wearing my glasses😂 it’s not even the fact they have bad vision by. I just adjust really fucking slowly without glasses
Not really. He forgot one of the most important parts. Letting your eye relax and keep closing your eye and re checking. Your eye will strain and bring it into focus if you don’t do this.
It's amazing how people figure this stuff out (like creating scopes and the complex mathematics and sciences and physics that go into making the reticle, etc...), And then the people who can calculate the windage and elevation, turning marksmanship into an science 🔭
I’m glad he said clear blue sky and didn’t mention anything about the sun. I worked technical support for a scope manufacturer and the call I had was “Why can’t I see anything when I look at the sun and it’s harder to see afterwards? What’s wrong with this scope?” There are people who would look at the sun unfortunately.
@Elon Pusk The root of pubic is pubis. Pubis; either half of or referring to the pelvis. The pelvis contains gentiles, hips, buttocks, and connects the lower abdomen with the legs. So, by definition, they are not pubic hairs. Though, seeing as how both regions tend to have more wire like type hair compared to the rest of the body. I can see how an individual with a low IQ or little to no education might confuse them. I can also see an individual who lacks the genetic trait to grow facial hair could find themselves jealous enough to make such a stretched accusation.
Just read the manual that comes with the scope. It will tell you exactly what you need to do for this, and explain the holds built into the reticle if present.
Important to remember that the background must be something like the sky or a wall that you won’t have a tendency to focus on and secondly make sure that you only look through the scope for a few seconds at a time. It seems like more of a hassle but if you just look through the scope and make adjustments indefinitely without getting off the scope your eye will naturally focus the reticle by adjusting itself. That’s not what you want. You want the reticle in focus without your eye having to put in any of the work for it. This prevents your eye from getting tired if you stay on the scope for a while.
It’s an old photography principal; to get a good landscape photo, you want to back off of your infinite focus setting just enough, relative to the speed (of the lens) or how much light is entering the lens.
Got GP therapy today. 1 gal milk jugs; 500 yards. Wind crossing at 12-15 mph. M14, peep sights. Checked zero on a 24” X 24” square. 5 rounds 5 jugs. I’m 73
Because he’s using a first focal plane scope and by going into such a low power magnification what looks like an in focus reticle, because it’s so small and fine. Can actually still be out of focus when zoomed/ mag’d in.
@@cr2shootingsolutions Thank you. For a moment I thought I was doing it backward. Both my scopes are 2nd focal plane. But this is great to know because my new scope is FFP.
i finally realized why my daisy scope wasn’t zeroing correctly. Up and right were switched, only way i found out was by sitting the gun up and watching the way it went cuz it was pissin me off. What a world
I have a damaged right eye. It’s REALLY nearsighted, but so is the left one, anyway. However, when I adjust my scope to see, with glasses or without, it is razor sharp. My reticle is good for that, too. Nice and sharp. Any advice on that second adjustment? I just acquired another boltcaster that the reticle is blurry in that eye. Any suggestions for that?
Nearsighted means an advantage in shooting sports. It’s easier to maintain focus on reticle or front sight, so you have a better understanding for where the barrel is pointed. Plus, with focus on sight follow through permits calling your shots which means shooter/target analysis to improve string of fire in progress.
"-and while your bipod is still fully extended, if you see any suspicious balloons that could be adrift on your property, feel free to pop a hole through them" 😂😂😂
But if you do it this way, you never have to adjust it again until your eyes change or if your stock isn’t set up properly and your eye relief changes between positions.
Well, I go through similar problems I always deal with the fog, my scope tends to fog I open it up every time just to clean it with a fucking wipe. I think my scopes busted not really sure still new to this.
Cheap ammo is extremely inconsistent. If you want something cheap (but will be expensive up front) buy reloading equipment and books. My grandfather who used 30.06 before Covid costed $1 per round. Reloaded costed him 22 cents each.

I’ve never had to do this or even knew about this but I’ve never had a nice scope but always have worked for me.
I usually point the scope at the sun to get a more clear image of the reticle
Good advice. Also, number 1, make sight alignment consistent since inconsistent sight alignment produces angular error which increases with distance.
You just made your focal distance the sky.

Funny, Pieter Milan from Impact Shooting ( also a MDT Pro Shooter ) recommended using the highest power settings.

10 power white paper Infront of scope is how I clear up my eye focus
Why on the lowest power? I kinda understand why parallax is set in infinity but why not high power?
Generally do this at the highest magnification. Not the lowest
Why would it matter either way?
Because he’s using a first focal plane scope and by going into such a low power magnification what looks like an in focus reticle, because it’s so small and fine. Can actually still be out of focus when zoomed/ mag’d in.

Adjust your focus for a clear reticle adjust the AO or parallax for a clear picture of what you are aiming at

Jees lads, that's lesson 1 on day 1 of owning a scope.
I was following until adjust it until its blurry then clear then blurry the other way then right in between blurry and clear
Don't forget to adjust it in the middle of the blurry spots.....

Sweet gun
Ever wonder why your reticle is blurry? Adjust it!
"-and while your bipod is still fully extended, if you see any suspicious balloons that could be adrift on your property, feel free to pop a hole through them" 😂😂😂
What's parallax? All I have is windage, elevation, and magnification.
That's one way.
Another way is sight on target, adjust your focus, then your parallax to sharpen up your reticle.
But if you do it this way, you never have to adjust it again until your eyes change or if your stock isn’t set up properly and your eye relief changes between positions.
@@thopkins2271 I suppose. I've done the sky focus method and still needed to adjust parallax.
“Your gona extend your bipod, look up to the clear blue skeayh and send it”
Actually best explanation of that.
So what's the deal when you do that but changing magnification blurs out the reticle?
Thanks. Why on lower mag?
All I saw was blurry to blurrier. Them, blurrier to blurry. The reticle was clear, but what would I be shooting at.
