Miley's a lot smarter than her stage persona - she played the media and the industry without falling down the rabbithole that so many of her peers have dived into, The Voice is complete BS IMO, but its good to see an interview with someone who can play the game without getting chewed up in the process. Joan had her share of issues growing up and she would have been one of the people Miley was able to learn from growing up - compare that to other child stars who've ignored the cautionary tales around them. I wish her well.

Joan Jett is a terrific performer even now. She is a great talent. But it seems that with Miley Cyrus, she fell to the wrong side of performing. When she was the Hannah Montana and was "respectable" for lack of another word. But there has been a change that many just can't identify with. I hope she goes back to God.

The only opinions that matter are the great artists & bands she currently has the approval & respect of: Pearl Jam, Nine Inch Nails, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Metallica, The Doors, Judas Priest, Billy Idol, Stevie Nicks, Joan Jett, Courtney Love, Blondie, Hall & Oates, Elton John, The Cranberries, Flaming Lips, Arctic Monkeys, Chris Cornell (when he was alive, may he RIP), etc. Them, plus the many rock & metal fans for the last 30 years are now flocking in droves as converted Miley fans. Not just bc of her raw talent, but bc the genre is dying and she's being counted on to revive it. Her new album is out with original rock music. Thanks to her, many listeners from younger generations are learning about the music legends we grew up with, bc of the educational experience via Miley's album & her promotional song covers.

Joan Jett is a terrific performer even now. She is a great talent. But it seems that with Miley Cyrus, she fell to the wrong side of performing. When she was the Hannah Montana and was "respectable" for lack of another word. But there has been a change that many just can't identify with. I hope she goes back to God.

She now has a #1 rock album, it includes a song with Joan Jett, another with Billy Idol, and a mash-up with Stevie Nicks.
