This episode is not a foodie haunt instead is a little tour at Petaling Street, Mid Valley Mall and Taman Megah Pasar Malam to check on their business since the 2023 inflation had dampen many sectors out there. Chinese New Year is a very important festival for the Chinese, let’s hope the household will still spend if it’s necessary. Also, I want to see if the CNY spirit and atmosphere is still there. Happy new year and thanks for the continued support. God blessed.
KONG HEI FATT CHOI,ELMO LEE, m already 65 years old,still love to visit chi cheong kai,still eat n buy staff fr the popular place ,yes all r still 2nd/3rd in operation,notice younger chinese generation prefer complex a/con,always love the old ambience n hope the future generation always support our first china town set up by our ancestors that make KUALA LUMPUR what it is today,beside tourist n the bangla migration there n hold tight our turng lan heritage never forgetting it for future generation n safe guard its history n can still enjoy it PROSPERITY ,PAK PAK BOH SI.n continued it growth where ever it is can still make it YAT LOW.anywhere there is turng lan(chinese). @10:15 this Chee Cheong Fun has been around for many many years .. My mom used to bring me and siblings to eat whenever she went to do her shopping at Chinatown back in the 80s.

Mr Lee, Happy Chinese New Year to you and your family. Nowadays Chi Cheung Kai (Chinatown?) is not what it used to be, more like a Bangladeshtown. It had been more than 15 years, I never shopped at Chinatown that I did like previously. The owner should manage the stores there by their own selves, not by renting or employed foreigners to manage totally, I don't mind employing foreigners workers but for at least the owners must there to show their faces, to maintain the traditional and the 'exquisite taste' of Chinatown.

Haven’t been down to Petaling street for about 3 decades, seeing foreigners manning stalls there makes me want to continue avoiding that place.
We’re leaving USJ after living there since 1996 and moving to a kelana Jaya condo by the end of this month and I can’t wait to visit that Taman Megah pasar malam, have not been to that before.

(Chinatown ?) is more like a Bangladeshtown. It had been many years, approximately more than 15 years since I last shopped there for Chinese New Year goods. Some stores are totally rented out to foreign workers and mostly some stores are employing the foreign workers that totally managed the stores. I don't mind that they employ them but at least the Chinese owners should be there to manage and show their faces, to maintain the status and 'exquisite taste' of a Chinatown. I'm not being racist as this is Chinatown mah, hope that you understand my meaning.
