Delphine's hell is seeing her children in pain. Marie's is that she realises she didn't want to hurt them or make them suffer anymore...but she can't stop.
It's ironic that Marie's own thirst for vengeance brought about this. Delphine was on a path of redemption with Queenie, before being betrayed. I know Delphine haters (justifiably as she was an awful person) like to point out that Delphine remains unrepentant at the end when she whacked that tour guide and states zero remorse for her past actions. But that could be interpreted as her lashing out from a place of hurt, as it was towards Queenie, the one who she began to be better for and was betrayed. See if we occasionally were shown her harboring malevolent acts and or thoughts towards Queenie and black people throughout her penance at the coven (that weren't out loud outbursts for which she was smacked for), then yeah she was always a bitch. But it was never shown, and any contradictions to her rehabilitation progress was after Queenie gave her to Marie and she was tortured.
They both deserved their punishment. Delphine didn't care about all the suffering she caused all her slaves, who I'm assuming had families. I remember she drained a slave's baby of its blood so she could put it on her face and then told the mother about it. Now that its her child suffering she feels sorry. Bet if she was still alive she wouldn't even care about her children suffering. Same with Marie. She was all cool murdering people and doing her voodoo magic, but now that she's in hell torturing people she all of a sudden can't do it. Both of them deserved what they got.
Someone’s hell could possibly be physical. This is just what would make someone suffer the most. LaLaurie would suffer the most if she watched her family suffer while Marie would suffer the most torturing innocent people. Sometime’s physical pain isn’t as painful as mental pain.
What is the worst kinda Hell for a person? The absolute worst thing for them, of course. Sounds like a non-answer, but it's literally that. It's misery, it's regret, it's pain. Even the worst sort of psychopath imaginable, that is immune to all conventional forms of pain and suffering, would still have a 'worst'. And thus, Hell.
I feel like Delphine is more of a sore loser in this case because she lost and is now weak and defenseless like all the others she tortured and killed. She doesn't regret any of her past actions.
Marie's punishment is to be forced to realize that she isn't the protector of her people that she wanted to be, that she ended innocent lives, by the hundreds, for her own vanity.
Madam Lalaurie's daughters only wanted their mother to stop abusing them and terrorizing them without letting them be happy and controling their lives, plus what she did to the slaves they were against it, taking revenge in committing or attempting patricide will not make things better, sadly Boquita and her sisters dragged themselves to their mother's level and paid the price, which the tragic end to a such story like this one

In a couple of these episodes, at least one of the daughters participated unwillingly, and they all seemed to resent/fear their mother in this series, to the point where they discussed killing her. I find it interesting that fact that Marie says "the girl never did nothin' to me" after breaking free of Papa Legba's possession, and Papa Legba forces her. She is in debt to Legba, like Delphine and others were in debt to her, and he intends to collect- "everybody pays". Just because she is a Voodoo queen, doesn't mean she's above paying her debt.
Yes in real life her daughters did feel bad for the slaves and did try to help them but they suffered from there mothers cruelty as well. and would routinely suffer beatings from their own mother or worse things. At least in the show Delphine actually started having somewhat of a change and was getting closer to queenie, but she was truly one of the most vile, repulsive human beings to ever live and we can only be thankful that she is long dead now and that if there is a hell then she is suffering there.

If Marie had not made a deal with Papa Legba and simply made a immortality potion for herself, let the daughters live, and treated everybody fairly, I don’t think she would have been in hell.
There is no potion for immortality, what Marie gave Delphine was a vial of her tears. Which is why when Delphine drank it, to her, the tears were sweet. In truth the potion was a curse, fueled by Marie’s own immortality and sadness/rage. Delphine was to remain old, her mind still troubled, and she would never have a family or friends to live by her side. When Marie’s immortality was voided, so was Delphine’s. Marie would have avoided hell by not making a deal with papa legba. She did kill a bunch of babies, against her will mind u, but still.
There wasn't an immortality spell, she even said it herself she gave delphine her tears which inturn made delphine immortal and I understand why she did what she did to delphines family they took away her lover and many people she cared about so she took away the ones delphine cared about because if the family really wanted to they could've reported delphine because while abuse against slaves was normalized in that time period the degree she did it in was not and she could've been arrested
Remember, magic is about balance. Papa Legba couldn't just pull immortality out of thin air. He needed the life forces of those kidnapped babies to infuse LaVeau... Basically, she and Delphine were murderers, what made LaVeau worse was the fact that the babies couldn't defend themselves like some of LaLaurie's victims could. Actually, both women were guilty of the same crime. White washing crime behind good intentions doesn't absolve it. You kind of see a similar interaction between Cordelia and Papa Legba during Apocalypse when she asked him to help the witches vanquish 'Michael.' He demanded a heavy price again. Thirdly, remember LaVeau's release from hell. Cordelia traded Adina Porter to secure Marie's parole.
i just hope her daughter is merely an illusion and not her actual daughter suffering for her mother's crimes. eternity may be the only thing that is actually scary...
I love that Marie Laveau repeats the same lines and sentences to Madame Laulaurie in h3ll as she treated her victims in life. Perfect justice. Treat others badly and get treated the exact same way in return!!! Karma is a witch!!!
Just remember that if you wish suffering on those who caused suffering, YOU become one of those who caused suffering, so therefore YOU join that list. That's the trick. I watched some Korean movie recently about going to hell and answering for sins committed during life, and a theme was that a sin that is forgiven in the living world cannot be punished in the afterlife, and this raises an interesting question: If someone sins against you in life, and you refuse to forgive them for it, and they then go on to be tormented in eternity and your forgiveness could have prevented that torment, are you not at that point causing that soul undue suffering? Are you not sinning at that point? Will you be tormented in the afterlife for causing another pain for not forgiving them? It's a powerful message about forgiveness.
@@RobertMorgan I hate this “forgive so you’ll be the bigger person” shit. Maybe some people deserve to be hurt for the things they’ve done. Do you have any idea how hard it is to learn to be angry with someone after you’re abused? Personally I think the whole forgiveness thing is just about making sure shitty people don’t have be bothered with the consequences of their actions.
Agreed. Delphine was EXAAAACTLY where she was supposed to be. Marie was forced to sacrifice the babies because Papa Legba coerced her into doing so. Not because she wanted to. Marie Laveau really is Honorable in that respect
@iluvmisachan By whom, lol? It's quite literally a price for her immortality. She could refuse at any time, but instead she kept feeding Legba those children to keep her own her a*s alive. 300 lives over one.
Some of you are saying the daughters are a depiction but i think thats really them because remember they were hung by Marie before they buried Delphine. So like even if they had no ties with Papa Legba he still lives in Hell. And you have to remember they helped their mother sometimes cut the slaves.
I don’t think it’s fair to put all of her daughters in the same boat as Delphine. The one that tried to rape that slave yes but I think the other two were scared of their mother. I know that’s not an excuse but you never know what you’d do if your mother was abusive and was torturing people in the attic.
Marie should look on the bright side, she's not getting any physical torture done on her, she's just being the eternal slave driver for it. Even with the few possibilities why that would suck so bad
She may have hated Delphine with a burning passion, but she did not feel the same hatred as their mother and knew that they also wanted their mother to stop with her brutality as well
It wouldve been cool if they wouldve made a redemption arc. Delphines and queenies relationship was the coolest part of this season and they threw it away because the real lalaurie was just a monster. Its like they dont trust the audience to differentiate reality and fantasy. They couldve done so much better with kyle too
I'm so glad somebody agrees with me about Kyle. I love Evan Peters but it feels like Kyle was really only written to give him a part for a season that's heavily female dominated. If I had to rewrite Coven, I would probably combine Kyle and Nan's boyfriend Luke into one character.
Only a white person would think this because historically, they've suffered few consequences for the mistreatment of black people. The whole point of redemption is to actually want to change. What serial killer that you know of feels remorse for killing and torturing others?
Well at least Zoe, Madison, Queenie, Misty, Cordelia, Nan, and Marie have their powers in hell. When they get bored of doing the same all over and over again, they can just have fun by burning people alive, ripping their heads off, Showing off their powers to people in their hell, and stuff like that. I mean is not that bad if you think about it, Queenie might just grab some chicken leg sit down in a chair drink soda while torturing people mentally lol
I don’t think it’s the actual daughters. I believe it’s just fallen ones imitating the daughters to contribute to Delphine’s suffering in the afterlife.
The problem is that for her to torture Delphine, she has to torture Delphine's daughters. She doesn't want to torture them. Granted, she did kill them back in the 1800s... but in Hell, she said they did nothing to her.
I'd just torture Delphine, especially if she just insulted me by calling me an animal not even a minute into the Hell experience. I'd leave the daughters alone and just go for her. However, torturing even a well-deserving person for eternity would get OLD and fast.
I wonder if the daughters are just hellish projections, or are they the real daughters. Because it would be messed up if the daughters ended up in that kind of hell at the end of it. They werent bad like their mother.
I know it wouldn’t make for good television, but seriously desperate or not it is common sense not to deal with demons, dark gods, evil spirits, or whatever you want to call them. The power they can give you is always a false power because they will always reclaim it for themselves in the end. Furthermore those who deal with such creatures will eventually be dealt with themselves as those who are of the light can not stand such evil and will seek its destruction
Granted Leveau was more gray compared to Fiona and Lalaurie...I hope with Apocalypse, they manage to fix her status and make her go to heaven or come back as a regular witch..its sad she has to suffer.
Its a shame people are too stupid to understand that you cant really compensate for anything. the good doesn't change the bad or the bad the good etc. but tis like when people say "its okay I had dessert, I had a salad today" one doesn't compensate for the other, and you should have been eating healthy food the whole time, not just to compensate for eating unhealthy things
It is stupid that you would not realize that it not always happens to be so easy. You have to decide to do something 'evil' and have greater outcome, at the end you would have more good, or not do 'evil' thing, and at the end you would have worse outcome (more negative than positive.) thereby what was meant to be chosen?
Dope scene. Let's remember that the real hell is infinitely worse than anything we can imagine. It is your soul in torment beyond compare without ceasing.

“Eventually everybody pays......everybody suffers”
Skype cameos at 0:27
Lmao clever
Lol I thought someone farted when I heard it.
i just hope her daughter is merely an illusion and not her actual daughter suffering for her mother's crimes. eternity may be the only thing that is actually scary...
Exactly, when you would understand that only boredom could be something to be scared of, but even if, why?
One of the best seasons of American Horror Story!!! Very well done!!! 👏😊
i love papa legba
I love that Marie Laveau repeats the same lines and sentences to Madame Laulaurie in h3ll as she treated her victims in life. Perfect justice. Treat others badly and get treated the exact same way in return!!! Karma is a witch!!!
"Crimes of.... fashion"
*Yes, this "woman" if I can even call her that.... was so terrible she even committed the most heinous of fashion crimes.*
im sorry but i laughed at the scream she did at 0:57
Borquita: (to Marie Laveau) No, NO, PLEASE! (to Delphine) MOTHER! (to Marie Laveau) NO! NOOOOOOO! (at several times)
The real daughters aren’t probably there, those are just copies.
It's funny how even here, people lie about the deceased. 😂😂
Delphine deserved this after everything she has done, sorry to those who think she deserves better.
Why would the daughters be in Hell if they were innocent?
@@friendlyghosthost1830 thank u
@@friendlyghosthost1830 100%!!! F' that. Delphine should burn for all of eternity. She took joy in torturing people..hell with that!!
I don’t really feel bad for lalarie I feel bad for Marie though
I think they deserved each other. Sure Marie helped some people, but she had no problem hurting innocent people if it meant getting what she wanted.
Try feeling bad for a few hundred children she turned over to keep her immortality.
Agreed. Delphine was EXAAAACTLY where she was supposed to be. Marie was forced to sacrifice the babies because Papa Legba coerced her into doing so. Not because she wanted to. Marie Laveau really is Honorable in that respect
I think Marie deserved better. But yeah, fuck Delphine. I can’t think of a better punishment for that repugnant piece of shit.
@iluvmisachan By whom, lol?
It's quite literally a price for her immortality.
She could refuse at any time, but instead she kept feeding Legba those children to keep her own her a*s alive.
300 lives over one.
So this is Zavala’s side job when he’s not being commander 😳😂
I never noticed that was him.
Honesty I just feel bad for Delphine’s daughter. Like she didn’t do anything but gets the worst punishment lol
No one gets away with sin.
Eventually, everybody pays, everybody suffers 😌😈🔥🌋
It is always interesting to see that evil is always punished by greater evil whereas good is rewarded by even greater good
Legba has a Haitian Creole accent
Kathy Bates rocking like always
0:16 this was Marie's hell because it would always remind her of the babies she sacrificed
Fashion? LOL Papa is savage.
I love how they portrayed hell as psychological
In my home. My home. No it's mine. Welcome to hell. 😂I love Kathy Bates. Angela Bassett and papa legbas voice
"Hell" is making a nice fat turkey sandwich and there is no mayonnaise! 🤬
My fav scene of the show
Her daughter isn't real. She doesn't even bat an eye at Legba she's just on script
4:09 Fiona did exactly what she was suppose to do
Some of you are saying the daughters are a depiction but i think thats really them because remember they were hung by Marie before they buried Delphine.
This is one of the best episode. Both actresses are magnificent ❤
I studied and did my research on this Lady.
Marie should look on the bright side, she's not getting any physical torture done on her,
she's just being the eternal slave driver for it.
Even with the few possibilities why that would suck so bad
She may have hated Delphine with a burning passion, but she did not feel the same hatred as their mother and knew that they also wanted their mother to stop with her brutality as well
@It’s Kelice. Um, who are you referring to?
@It’s Kelice.
I'm saying she's not the one being tormented out of two
Wow! The imagery is fantastic. 💀
Brilliant show. And brilliant actors. The very best.
Borquita: (to Delphine) Mother?
hearing “help me mother” made my heart drop
1:58 sound from hellriser
"That girl ain't done nothing to me"
But why did Laveau and her mob kill the daughters back in the day?
Lalaurie daughter lied on Marie husband saying that he flirted with her
Well at least Zoe, Madison, Queenie, Misty, Cordelia, Nan, and Marie have their powers in hell.
I’d like to see Papa Legba again in someway shape or form guy was a pretty good shady man in the middle not really good but not really evil either
Maybe I need to rewatch this season again, but why exactly did Delphine's daughters go to hell?
It could be just a figment of the two women’s hell. Just how the teacher and students from Misty Day’s hell aren’t real.
I don’t think it’s the actual daughters. I believe it’s just fallen ones imitating the daughters to contribute to Delphine’s suffering in the afterlife.
Please upload some hotel scenes!!!
I would think that Marie that would see torturing Delphine as a reward not a punishment...
Her fear is torturing someone
She doesn't like torturing people
The problem is that for her to torture Delphine, she has to torture Delphine's daughters.
So, is this show any good overall? Watched some scenes and have to say it looks pretty good.
Abara Yup pretty good show. This season and Asylum were my favorites.
Yes! Coven (the season that this clip is from) was definitely the best one.
Abara yeah it is.But if your not a fan of gore I recommend you stay away from the 6th and 7th seasons. In other words Roanoke and Cult
Fairy rubbish
I didn't watch much of this show but it looks pretty good I should have stopped a little bit and decided to watch it
Myrtle has her crimped hair.
I wish it was so dark. It's hard to see what's going on
Granted Leveau was more gray compared to Fiona and Lalaurie...I hope with Apocalypse, they manage to fix her status and make her go to heaven or come back as a regular witch..its sad she has to suffer.
Most satisfying scene ever in this season
“You think I feel sorry for that b**ch? I DON’T. “
So what was Marie before she realized what she was doing? Just an avatar?
@@theoryianabsolute8777 I. saw that saved by the bell Lisa
Kathy bates as delphine and Angela as Marie they hated each other in this show she deserves every bit of it 😊
Charlene Marie born and raised in French quarter New Orleans Louisiana I haven't heard it and seen it all
Papa Legba is so fucking hot in this show 😍
wait was that Delphine 's actual children? Why are they in hell?
Dope scene. Let's remember that the real hell is infinitely worse than anything we can imagine. It is your soul in torment beyond compare without ceasing.
That doesn't exist beyond our imagination:)
@@theoryianabsolute8777 it has never been nor will it ever be acceptable much less fashionable to be contemptuously stupid. If you are able to type on a message keyboard to us your own wilfully blind ignorance that is not my problem. I will point out how inadequately stupid you sound typing an incoherent filth attempt at attention rather than Impfoving your own life. Jesus Christ is real. "Huits you"😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣
My favorite show
DAMN PAPA WAS CRUEL AS HELL BUT DAMN HE KNOWS HOW TO GET REVENGE BUT IM REALLY UPSET THAT HE TORTURED DELPHINES GIRLS THEY DIDNT DO ANYTHING BUT THEY HAVE TO PAY FOR THERE FOOLISH MOMS CHOICES
if im not wrong they are projections, played by people who had a debt with demons,in AHS hell is psychological torture not physical if they are ghosts
I don’t think that the girls were real. I think that’s Delphine personal hell. And I think since Marie made it her goal to kill Delphine and her family, she linked herself to her unknowingly because of her quest for revenge.
Still get chills when Legba says "in my home"
God what a fantastic show.. too bad they're stirring the pot with the political shit this year.
ryanowns5 Fuck you. This season has been fantastic thus far!
Yeah Cult was actually great. It was such a great idea to add that political drama to THE DRAMA.
AHS has always been political.
@@Bluebelle9289 asylum, murder house? The two obviously best seasons? No politics, just a great show/season. Stop making everything about politics or "race"?
Can’t really feel bad for neither of them, Marie offering children to sacrifice to benefit her smh
2:08 "Do you kno da wae"
Let's keep making it together
Where was madame lalaurie stabbed anyway? Just curious :3
RoseGoldFlower she reverted back to her racist ways
Papa legba is so fair and just.
Oh
That skyoe jotification fucked eith me
As a 33-year-old lavey satanist(not here to talk about religion) that doesn’t believe in an afterlife(not here to talk about it either), I couldn’t imagine having an afterlife like that if such exists.
With that said, Kathy, Bates, and Angela Bassett are dynamic And legendary. I didn’t know who Angela Bassett was until I started season three of AHS COVEN. just one more episode to go before I end season three.
Edit: who plays the demon btw I’m curious because he did very well as well.
I feel like these aren't the daughter of Lalaurie. They are more like the kids in Mistys hell or the customers in Madisons.
This is some serious Valar morghulis........valar dohaeris type irony!
Bet this aged well 😣😂
So no one heard the x men theme song at end
