It really is. No idea if it’s still in print though.

Think I am missing out with a mince pie and sprouts. Not necessarily in that order! Best wishes Gavin.

Tipsy Cake! Reney just went over G. Washington’s eggnog recipe. I think I’ve been celebrating the holiday incorrectly-all my life!

It’s a proud tradition of taking everyday foods, and drowning them in booze!

This reminded me of the famous opening scene in "Little Women" by Lousia May Alcott, which is set during the American Civil War. Mr. March is serving as a chaplain with the Union Army.
"Christmas won't be Christmas without any presents," grumbled
    Jo, lying on the rug.
" It's so dreadful to be poor ! " sighed Meg, looking down at her
    old dress.
" I don't think it's fair for some girls to have plenty of pretty
things, and other girls nothing at all," added little Amy, with an injured sniff.
"We've got father and mother and each other, " said Beth contentedly, from her corner.
The four young faces on which the firelight shone brightened at
the cheerful words, but darkened again as Jo said sadly, -
"We haven't got father, and shall not have him for a long time. "
She did n't say " perhaps never," but each silently added it, thinking
of father far away, where the fighting was.
Nobody spoke for a minute ; then Meg said in an altered tone, -
" You know the reason mother proposed not having any presents
this Christmas was because it is going to be a hard winter for every
one ; and she thinks we ought not to spend money for pleasure, when
our men are suffering so in the army. We can't do much, but we can
make our little sacrifices, and ought to do it gladlly."
They end up giving their Christmas breakfast to a poor immigrant family whom Mrs. March helps out. The woman has just given birth and they have no food in the house.

Yes- the stories here are mostly just this scene repeated over and again. Crude but effective!

Does it name the illustrator? Are there more than one? And who knew Gavin laughed?!

It's all the original illustrators, and they don't seem to be named. In fact, not all the stories have bylines either! Who knew people watched my videos to the end?! :)
