Tig Notaro is a remarkable human being. She’s beloved in the comedy community because she’s not only hilarious but a genuinely good person. It wasn’t until I saw a documentary on her health issues and personal tragedies that I realized how much she’s endured.
She has this wonderfully dry sense of humor that reminds me of British comedians of the 70's. Very few comedians have made me laugh as hard as she has. The only problem is some of them are so dry and delivered with such perfect dead-pan, that it takes my slow ass a minute to get it.
Tig remains one of my favourite comedians - She's just so funny, and brutally honest to the point of absurdity, which just loops back around to hilarity. That is a pretty sick cane too.
I love Tig! I came across her stand-up one night as I was scrolling endlessly for something to watch. I started it, thinking I’d just use for background noise to fall asleep to. Oh boy, was I wrong. Right away I was drawn to her personality & I laughed so hard, it was like a release valve. lol Her humor spoke to my soul. 😊 Hope your leg heals well & quickly, Tig.
Freedom of speech doesn't mean freedom from consequence. An empathic person realizes that sometimes it isn't the speaker who has to suffer them. Maybe sometimes, we have to self censor... if we want to be good people.
I agree a 100% if that refers to one-on-one or other forms of balanced communication in a closed social context. It does not apply when it comes to freedom of speech in public, especially in the media or any form of sender-receiver-communication where you are not obliged to be in the receiving position. Sarcasm, irony, exxageration, provocation and even aggressive and sometimes offending rhetoric are very important for a functioning transparent public discourse, forming opinions, hence for an open society. If one cannot bare this, one shouldn´t participate in the public discourse. If you demand that the rules of the discourse are to be changed so that noone will be offended at anytime or if you demand that other opinions than your own must be suppressed - because of yourself being offended by them - you´re demanding cencorship and there would be no open discourse. That´s btw exactly what rightwingers do - same method, different content. But both sides are constantly whining about being the victim in all of this. It´s hilariously immature.
@@luciustitius sarcasm, irony, and exaggeration can lead to miscommunication; and, sarcasm, provocation, and aggression can cause people to stop listening or discussing. I think it would be very dependent on the specific situation and exactly how it is delivered.

I remember doing a paper about this exact thing in an English class at city college. The question was what do you think freedom of speech in America means or something like that and I did the paper about how everyone can say what they want, but it doesn't mean there's no consequence and my teacher gave me a B- because he said the Constitution would disagree with me. It was the weirdest thing ever! Because there's no denying that there's no consequences in life for saying things that a lot of people are not going to agree with or that you could be jailed over
Ya know, I have only seen Tig on Colberts show and a handful of other things here and there. Every time she’s on again, I’m like “geez, I really need to watch more of her stuff” she is awesome
that’s who I was gonna guess. for a fraction of a second at the end of the clip the censor flicks off and if you time it right you can see who it is. still took me a minute to figure it out 😂

Tig is so honest and amazing!
Tig is on a short list of people who can crack Stephen up so much he's crying!
I had to rewind just to watch him crack up again 😂
It’s literally his job to laugh when comedians come on his show
that whole bit between them was brilliant and extremely tight; they didn't miss a beat! Well done. Love them together.
I just die when Stephen looses it and Tig is one of few who can do that regularly ! I just love her 💜😂

Tig was hysterical "What kind of low rent thing did I sign up for?" Love her
I cant believe how long she rode that one out, even though it was brutal :D
It was hilarious because I think pretty much everyone could identify with it. We've all been there at some point.
Love Tig & the characters she plays. Especially the Star Trek character. So funny.
*Will Ferrell!!!* The height, the body motion, the masking the famous voice -- oh, and the magazine's page mentions "Will." 😱
Will Ferrell is also mentioned on IMDB.
Now I absolutely have to watch this. I was going to watch it anyway because I adore Tig, but this combo is just too much to miss.

It would be so great if they would produce more episodes of "Under A Rock", Tig is hilarious
Absolutely love her. The whole freedom of speech thing was on point. There’s a difference between “freedom of speech,” and using it to harm others.
Tig Notaro is hilarious. I think I've been living under a rock since this is first time I've met her. Off to find more of her videos.
May I suggest Knock Knock It's Tig Notaro. That one is really great.
