  • I've tried Japanese conversation using the latest AI technology, GPT-4! Last year, I used GPT-3.5 just for text, but now, a year later, we can have voice conversations with GPT-4. I'm testing its response speed and the naturalness of the conversation. Additionally, I'm exploring the options for AI voices and the future possibilities they might offer. As a Japanese teacher, I'm also contemplating how this technological advancement could impact our profession. AI vs. human teachers - which would you choose? Please watch the video and share your opinions in the comments! And if you want more content on Japanese and technology, don't forget to subscribe to the channel!

"feel free to come back anytime" after cutting you off multiple times is the most passive aggressive way to say it never wants to speak to you again 😂

I didn't quite understand the concept of 'passive aggressive’ before, but now I know...

Just for anyone curious, you can actually hold the button and speak so that you wouldn't be interrupted in between.

Quite an interesting idea, although the cutting off was really funny lol

I'm often use ChatGPT 3.5 but not for conversation. I often use it for translation and asked him question to understand what the difference to construct japanese sentences or differences in words. For exemple, last time, I asked about ところ which has a lot of translation which are physical (place, site, spot, etc) while in japanese it can be used for a lot different things that are not physical (like situation, point, aspect, etc). And also for grammar structure (like the usage of に). I found it useful for that but it can also still make some obvious mistakes.
I also think that ChatGPT is still better in english than other language (but that may change in the futur👀)
Anyway, Love your video, I hope you continue to do more like that! ❤

There goes my plan to watch your travel vlog things to also find a few good spots for my next vecation but this video was too tempting lol
lmao the way the first bot just cut you off had me rolling haha
also i must admit i'm a bit disappointed there wasn't like a cute anime boy talking with you on the screen XD I got a few adverts for ki to talk to and it always had super cool looking volks so that's what I kinda imagind it to be like lol
Still, it seemed like an ok conversation overall. I think if I hadn't had your captions writing out the conversation i would've struggled but i'm happy how well I was able to follow along. Thank you! It's thanks to videos like yours that I'm slowly getting there and understanding these conversations

It's been about half a year since I took this video, but I think chatbots have improved even more by now! Maybe you can even choose a cute anime boy's face? 😆 Give it a try!

@@SayuriSaying I actually happened to have looked a tiny bit further into it today. It seems you need this chat gpt 4 you used to talk and I think 20 € / month is a bit steep. I couldn't find an app. Mostly because if you look for Japanese conversation ki you get a run of sites just simply about conversations in general 😅 maybe it still needs a bit more time to stew

Nice test! Are you using the free version of chatgpt? If so, you are using 3.5 and not 4.0.

Better option using open source models with Eleven Labs API key but most people wouldn't use those due to lack of technical skills. Since people always gravitate to easiest option. Right now GPT problem is bandwidth to many users are clogging up the servers and until that is solved it not viable for this type of learning even though they could easily do foreign voices.
