    Like I stated at the start of the video, some characters weren't going to count for this tier list. Trust me, I contemplated long and hard about which ones counted. None of these characters were excluded out of forgetfulness or neglect. There's a big difference between an antagonist and a full on villain, I had to be aware of that when picking who should compete in the rankings. Here are the reasons why certain characters weren't included on the list:
    GANTU
    While he is after Stitch, he's on a mission of safety for the galactic federation, so he's simply the film's antagonist - one who doesn't intervene until the finale at that.
    FOXY LOXY
    More of a school bully than a full on villain like Jafar or Ursula. Would be unfair to compare a school bully to criminals and evil sorcerers.
    ALIENS
    They maybe framed as threatening at first, but their actions are based on a misunderstanding.
    SCROOP
    He's more of a supporting henchman than anything. He might not be entirely loyal to John Silver, but he's still just his crew mate and doesn't end up becoming anything more than that in the story. The reason Doris counted was because she was a twist villain disguised as a minion, and her own evil plan was bigger than Bowler Hat Guy's revenge scheme.
    DENAHI
    Like the aliens, his actions are based on a misunderstanding.

      I totally agree with you on these fronts. Scroop to me feels like an attempt to keep Long John Silver out of the Disney Villains rogue gallery because of Silver’s empathy. Thus, Scroop is my least favorite part of Treasure Planet.

      What about the agent from Bolt ?

    • @1992disney
      @1992disney 4 роки тому +2

      @@josepharmstrong1788 But he actually does serve an important purpose to the plot because since Treasure Planet is a sci-fi adaptation of Treasure Island, Scroop plays the role of the book's secondary villain, Israel Hands. Without him killing off Mr. Arrow during the black hole scene and getting Jim Hawkins blamed for Mr. Arrow's death afterwards, Silver would never have a legit reason to give his amazing and inspiring Makings of Greatness speech to Jim and that would ultimately never solidify his friendship with Jim, while also proving himself to be a great father figure for Jim, that Jim's real dad had failed to provide for, care about, and support his own son. And that certainly would never be enough to prove to the audience that Silver has so much humanity in him, truly does appreciate and believes in Jim and sees all the potential within him, And that Silver is really not so bad after all, making it difficult for the audience to want to hate and root against him. Those reasons that I stated prove that Scroop had every right to be in the movie and especially has to be in it because the heart of the movie is the relationship between Jim & Silver, and Scroop plays a key role in the movie's main theme. Therefore, Silver has a heart of gold and Scroop only has a black heart. So Scroop was never created as an excuse to make Silver look good and especially sympathetic.

    Slim isn’t a great villain, but I kind of wish they went with his original scheme: he was going to use all the cattle he rustled to storm the White House and declare himself President. Ridiculous, sure, but I admire how outlandish it is compared to the simplistic land grab plot.

    Gantu isn’t truly a villain either. He’s a threatening, gigantic and manipulative, yes, but he was mainly doing his job. Whether it involves reclaiming Stitch for the Grand Coincil Woman, or the other 625 Experiments for Hämsterviel, he is mainly a neutral character trying to make ends meat. But he does resort to violence sometimes when provoked.

    Kron: That’s understandable, especially since the Carnators are WAY more effective as villains in their simplicity as hungry predators that can’t be reasoned with.
    Yzma: “How did we get here Kronk?” “Well you got me. By all accounts it doesn’t make any sense.” ;P
    Roark: My German roommate adores Atlantis and says that Roark and Milo represents the best and worst aspects of Americans and their culture.
    Long John Silver: One of the best Disney characters period.
    Slim: I am actually considering rewriting his villain song to focus more on how he uses flattery and soft language as a tool of persuasion as opposed to things like guns and branding iron.
    BHG: He totally foreshadowed the Brony phenomenon!
    Doris: She would make an excellent video game boss.
    Voodoo Man: He and Tiana KNOW each other as established by Tiana’s conversation with Navine, and how Facilier didn’t need any introductions to her in their confrontation, plus he eats at the diner she works at. Though I do understand what you mean, they’re only enemies by circumstances of random events and terrible planning skills. Still I really enjoy his animation, performance, and villain song.

      The Fat Piranha Plant, because I was one of those people who used to say Meet the Robinsons was a silly movie, and over the years I have come to realize it is a pretty sad movie about second chances, that’s how I saw it anyway and the villain is an example of how damaging it could be for one person to be obsessed with failure rather than moving forward.

But he was no major threat, he just made 626 dangerous experiments illegally and was hired to retrieve Stitch, but was a loose cannon about it, but was trying to do his job, until he got fired and started to get carried away, guns a blazing, but slowly learns the meaning of family.

    Nice tier list. One tiny nitpick in the beginning is that you somehow count "one year" as "a few years", since it was in 2019 where you did your first tier list, and this is 2020. And it was surprising that not only did you have an "E-Tier" ranking because there is no E grade in school (although S-Tier is very common for "God-Tier"), but used TWO Meet the Robinsons villains on the list since I thought only the primary villain of each film would be including. Why did you exclude Scroop from Treasure Planet from this list? He's a legit villain too and a really scary one at that. Not only are his appearance and voice so terrifying, but his misdeeds and personality are spine-chilling as well. Sure he doesn't get that much screentime, but that doesn't mean he's not memorable. He's sadistic, blood-thirsty, merciless, loathing, cruel, cold-hearted, psychopathic, and most of all, evil. When we first see him, he confronts the protagonist, Jim Hawkins, and accuses him of eavesdropping on some of John Silver's pirates. Then Jim insults and intimidates him, which instantly makes Scroop want Jim dead. When he tries to kill Jim on the spot, Silver comes in and saves Jim from being slaughtered by the "spider psycho". Mr. Arrow lectures Scroop for attempting a fight with Jim, in which Silver gives Scroop the death stare, which also shows Scroop's hatred toward authority figures like Mr. Arrow. Then during the black hole scene, when Mr. Arrow gets knocked off the RLS Legacy but is saved from falling into the black hole thanks to his own lifeline, Scroop takes the perfect opportunity to murder him and succeeds in doing so by cutting off his lifeline, making him be sucked into the black hole while he screams in doom without anyone ever looking or even noticing, except for Silver, and gets Jim falsely blamed for Mr. Arrow's tragic and untimely demise, since it was his duty to secure all the lifelines on the ship, making Jim feel so miserable and guilty about it. During the scene when Jim hides in a purp barrel in Silver's kitchen in the ship's galley and overhears about the mutiny, Silver calls Scroop out on his senseless act, while Scroop tries to humiliate Silver for his affection towards Jim in front of his entire pirate crew, which makes Silver immediately deny it. Finally when Jim sneaks back on the ship to retrieve the real map to Treasure Planet and B.E.N. accidentally sets off the ship's alarm while trying to find the right plug that disables the ship's cannons, alerting Scroop of Jim's presence on the ship, in which he pursues Jim in an attempt to murder him. Then B.E.N. accidentally pulls another wrong plug that makes all the lights on the ship go out for at least a minute and when the lights are restored, Scroop takes the chance of doing a surprise attack on Jim from behind and has him cornered. Then B.E.N. pulls yet another wrong plug that ends up disabling the ship's anti-gravity generator, causing both Jim and Scroop to crash through the deck floor and float up into space. Scroop latches onto the ship's support beam to save himself from floating away and Jim manages to do the same by grabbing and holding onto the pirate flag. Then Scroop tries to kill Jim the same way he killed Mr. Arrow by sawing off the rope that holds the pirate flag in place. But thanks to Jim's quick-thinking, he manages to get Scroop trapped in the flag, which causes the rope that Scroop was trying to slice off to break, making him float up into deep space while he screams in doom, never to be seen or heard from again. And for those reasons alone, I would definitely put him in the A Tier.

    • @Jambareeqi
      @Jambareeqi  4 роки тому +3

      Scroop is more of a supporting character than a villain, that's why he wasn't included. Heck, I'd categorize him as a henchman even.

    • @1992disney
      @1992disney 4 роки тому +5

      @@Jambareeqi But a lot of people actually categorize him as a secondary antagonist. In fact, he's the movie's real villain because unlike Silver, he's irredeemable, he kills people without having any second thoughts just because they pissed him off, and he doesn't have any good in him whatsoever. He does many things that Silver would never ever do, even if he did try. Silver has a conscious while Scroop doesn't have one at all. That's what gives us an interesting and complex contrast between the two bad guys. One is bad, but not completely, while the other is bad all the through and evil for the sake of being evil. So Scroop still had every right to be on the list, whether he's the main villain or not.

    • @farlong4948
      @farlong4948 4 роки тому +1

      1992disney Yeah, I totally have to agree with you here. I personally think Scroop is the best character in that film, and I honestly wish he actually WERE the true main villain-the same way Doris was the true main villain of Meet the Robinsons-and had a lot more screen time, particularly near the end; instead of just axing him off and basically acting as though nothing happened (getting him out of the way, pretty much), he should have been part of the film’s actual climax and have had some sort of confrontation with Silver, and THEN we could’ve had that battle with him and Jim that you just described.
      Bottom line, I think Scroop is awesome and he should have been the real main villain and have had a much bigger role in the story. Silver’s a good character too, though.

      1992disney I know, but it already takes a lot of artistic liberties with it taking place in space and in a weird Steampunk fantasy world with flying sailing ships, alien pirates, and a female captain who happens to be part cat, so I don’t think upping Scroop’s role would be too far-fetched here. Besides, they’ve already upped his role significantly by having him be the one to kill off Mr. Arrow instead of Silver (In the book, Silver gets Mr. Arrow drunk on a stormy night, and he falls overboard), so why stop there? I think upping his villainous role (particularly at the climax) would really bring the interesting and complex contrast between him and Silver to the forefront in an epic and exciting way, much like the scene where Scroop confronts Silver about his affection for Hawkins.

      I wouldn't say he's a villain in the first film. In the sequels and TV shows, when he starts working for Dr. Jacques von Hämsterviel, he becomes a villain, and I do find him to be entertaining one! One thing that’s sad about Bowler Hat Guy is the way he acts as a villain. It’s like the stereotypical villain of a kid’s show. But the shocking truth is that in his backstory, he is Goob when he didn’t win that baseball game and just grown with so much anger towards Lewis that his anger didn’t get him adopted and it left him in the orphanage for years. So technically…Bowler Hat Guy is a villain who saw villains from kids shows, he’s kind of childish in a way

    I disagree with Rourke from Atlantis being in the A Tier because he just isn't that memorable nor interesting in the slightest. His motivation doesn't seem to make any sense. Stealing something from the Atlanteans that's actually vital to them and the sole reason how they've managed to stay alive for thousands of years just to auction it off for an insane amount of profit is just pointless because, he and the entire expedition crew could've just taken lots of pictures to prove to the world that Atlantis really does exist and could've gotten filthy rich that way. They could've even used their own Atlantean crystal necklaces that they brought home with them like they did at the end of the movie for further proof as well. It would've been a much better and especially smarter method. So they didn't need to go as far as taking something important away from a lost ancient civilization in order to make a quick buck. Rourke didn't even need to be a villain to begin with. The whole expedition crew excluding Milo, of course, didn't need to be mercenaries. Not every single Disney movie has to have any villains, you know. Not every single sci-fi and adventure one has to have some either. And the rest of the crew that have a change of heart and side with Milo near the end of the movie just doesn't feel natural nor believable because due to the movie's bad pacing, it doesn't give that much time for the important characters to develop properly. So it makes it hard for the audience to sympathize, care about, and root for them. It also doesn't help that the movie has too many characters to focus on. Even their backstories aren't enough to make them memorable. There's just not enough of the journey to Atlantis part either, which should've been the part when the characters begin to get along and have and develop their friendship with Milo. But they barely did that.

    • @kidprime6863
      @kidprime6863 4 місяці тому +2

      And everyone seems to forget that the Heart of Atlantis is extremely dangerous if it gets weaponized which was how Atlantis sank. Basically, Rourke is going to destroy the world for a quick buck. Which is full-on idiotic.

      I wouldn't say he's a villain in the first film. While he is after Stitch, he's on a mission of safety for the galactic federation, so he's simply the film's antagonist - one who doesn't intervene until the finale at that. In the sequels and TV shows, when he starts working for Dr. Jacques von Hämsterviel, he becomes a villain, and I do find him to be entertaining one! An imposing foil for Lilo & Stitch, but we also sympathise with his daily struggles since losing his old job.

      I would definitely put Hans from Frozen in the F Tier. He's such a crappy and overrated twist villain and he actually had no valid reason to be one to begin with. His motivations make no sense and he doesn't do a very good job at executing his so-called evil plan. Elsa really should've been the villain instead. In fact, she was going to be the exact same kind of villain that John Silver from Treasure Planet is. But then Let It Go happened and the rest was history.

      An anti-hero is someone who sets out to do good in unorthodox ways. I wouldn't call ruining an orphan child's future or taking a captain's crew hostage "heroic". John and Bowler Hat Guy may have hearts deep down, but their roles in their respective films are villains.
