    Hiii!! Omg I had been looking around for so long to find out that last part of what to do to set the painting on the jacket so it won’t chip off

    I painted my denim jacket with acrylic paint without adding fabric paint, does that change the paint texture and wearability?

    • @auermediaartscrafts
      @auermediaartscrafts  4 роки тому

      It's not quite as durable as if you add fabric medium to acrylic paint or if you use fabric paint. You can wear your jacket, but If you have to wash the jacket, acrylic paint may chip off.

    Hi, I have a question, I've painted my jeans with acrylic paint, name brand Artist's Loft, will your method ironing work with this acrylic paint? I just don't want to wash off the painting away.

    • @auermediaartscrafts
      @auermediaartscrafts  4 роки тому

      Tatiana Levchenko , If you used acrylic paint only and didn't mix it with fabric medium, ironing won't help. It's the fabric medium that works as glue.

      @@auermediaartscrafts Thank you, any ideas on how I can seal the paint? Maybe a varnish of some sort?

    • @leximo_
      @leximo_ 4 роки тому

      @@tatianalevchenko2949I painted my Jean's with acrylic, without a seal it kinda just cracks

    • @auermediaartscrafts
      @auermediaartscrafts  4 роки тому +1

      Tatiana Levchenko , I'm not an expert on this but there's also decoupage medium for fabrics. Maybe If you apply it to both sides, front and back, and then iron it, it might seal it. I don't promise this will work, but this is what I'd try. 😊 I think varnish is for wall art, not clothing.
      Anyway, acrylic paint is quite strong. If you accidentally spill paint on fabric, it's very hard to wash off. So If you hand wash your fabric quickly and very carefully and don't soak, don't wrinkle and don't rub the painted part, I suppose you could propably wash it at least a few times.

    How do you wash it without the colour goes away

    • @auermediaartscrafts
      @auermediaartscrafts  5 років тому

      Christy CoOl , fabric medium and ironing makes it permanent, so you can hand wash it. I actually tested it on a piece of canvas before I painted the jacket and the paint did well in the test.

    Tosi kiva.. voisi omalle 14v kokeilla. Mistä saa värejä, jotka tähän sopivat ? 👍❤️

      Kiitos! Akryylimaaleja saa askartelu- ja taidetarvikekaupoista tai postitse esim. Adlibris on myynyt noita Plus Color maaleja aika kohtuulliseen hintaan. Kangasmaalausmediumia ja glitterkangasmaalia löysin Turusta Muovitukusta, mutta varmaan on saatavilla muualtakin askartelutarvikkeita myyvistä liikkeistä!

    Would fabric softener work. I dont have fabric medium 😂

    • @auermediaartscrafts
      @auermediaartscrafts  5 років тому

      Kassy Musiclover , no I don't think so 😊 Fabric medium is kind of glue, like the stuff you would use to decoupage but for fabric.

    Does acrylic paint come off

    • @auermediaartscrafts
      @auermediaartscrafts  4 роки тому

      Gacha Twix , no If you mix acrylic paint with 50% fabric medium and then iron it (dry paint) like I did on the video! You can hand wash it or use the hand wash programme of your washing machine and the paint doesn't come off. I've tried it and the painting was flawless after washing.

      Auermedia Arts & Crafts does this do the same with cotton shirts? the acrylic and fabric softener? or would you recommend just buying fabric paint and then ironing??

    • @auermediaartscrafts
      @auermediaartscrafts  4 роки тому

      @@jamesgmize , fabric medium, not fabric softener! And yes, it works with any cotton fabric that's not too elastic. In my experience fabric paint is thicker than mixing regular acrylic paint with fabric medium and it's a bit easier to paint flowers etc. with acrylic paint mixture than with fabric paint. But fabric paint is easier to use with stencils. I already had all the colors (acrylic paint) I needed to my painting so I only had to purchase a small bottle of fabric medium to get started. If you don't have acrylic paints and don't need them to other projects, then of course you can just buy fabric paints and use them! Both of them need to be ironed well to make the painting washable. Let dry completely before ironing!
