Marcelito is the master of switching voices with different range of voices with no vocal training self taught best singer in the Philippines try to react Unchained Melody Hallelujah Endless love Perfect thanks for loving our pride so proud of him
In case nobody has told you, Marcelito is not singing in falsetto. He was born with the ability to sing in soprano, tenor and baritone ranges and does all of them beautifully. Amazing, isn't he?!
He wowed the Philippines and the world when he auditioned for Pilipinas got Talent. He went through the finals and won second place. :D And through this kind of talent, he became famous through it. Love the foreigners' reaction on his rendition of The Prayer. When he auditioned, people couldn't get enough of his talent so the judges then and the audience hinted for a second song. Which he did, he then sang a song from Regine Velasquez's "Narito Ako"[Here I am]. This song's got plenty of high notes which he did pretty wall with no sweat. LOL Kudos to Marcelito Pomoy. Makes me proud being Filipino.
...he first auditioned in a singing contest using that voice...and all the judges was amazed!!! marcelito pomoy is now a singer here in the Philippines!!
he's not new in singing this song. he sang that in Philippines Got Tallent. he was the winner in that year. Filipinos are talented especially in singing. it is a natural talent. even kids know how to sing.
He won the Pilipinas Got Talent 2011 (season 2) and this song was his Winning Song... He's an amazing person with extraordinary talent.. mabuhay Marcelito! from Cebu! :)
Hello there Adobo Sandwich :-) Thanks for reacting to this video. We are proud him. By playing this music video and reacting to it, you bless many who haven't heard of Marcelito. Thanks for reacting to this video. We are proud Marcelito so now its time for some breather :-) Its a refreshingly wonderful take on Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli's The Prayer. Anyway, "doble cara" style singing contests are popular in the Philippines and its not uncommon for some Pinoys (what we Filipinos informally call ourselves ) to pull this kind of act so much so that sometimes contestants compete in split costumes to protray the other singer in case of a duet and turns the other side to sing the other voice. Marcelito Pomoy overcame many challenges in life and with pure talent and perseverance, won Pilipinas Got Talent Season 2 last 2011 and is now a happily married man.
+daarkke well ofcourse he has his uniqueness but singing such as belting here in the Philippines is very common even in the streets we do concert he he he videoke
hi.. i dont know if someone had already given you infos bout Marcelito Pomoy but here’s some...... When he was only months old, his father was jailed while his mother left them along with his younger sibling and went to Manila. He lived with his father in prison and was later adopted by a police officer. He only finished grade 3. Later he found out that he was adopted and ran away. He did odd jobs when he was a teenager (balut vendor, caretaker in a poultry) While doing poultry work, he started singing both male and female voices to while away loneliness (poultry houses are far from the city). He honed the skill then later entered contests in "Doble-Kara" (double-faced). He later found his father (who coincidentally is a frequent buyer when he was selling "balut"). With the aim to look for his mother and other siblings in Manila, he tried his luck competing in "Talentadong Pinoy", but didn't make it. He later joined the second season of Pilipinas Got Talent and became the champion. I am a fan of marcelito eversince and I AM REALLY HAPPY, foreigners appreciated his talent. THANK YOU for the support. He had such HUGE talent but was NOT (I think) given the deserved break… His contract in the tv station (where he won) had expired and only had gigs when called for (I think). I HOPE THAT THROUGH YOU, his talent will be known INTERNATIONALLY because he really deserved it. Yes, many Filipinos (mostly gays) had done this kind of singing BUT, NOBODY did a PERFECT job in BOTH male and female voices EFFORTLESSLLY except Marcelito. (not mentioning that he is a straight guy). Here’s a PLUS factor: Marcelito can impersonate local and foreign personalities (Manny Pacquiao, Aegis, April Boy, Freddie Aguilar, Beyonce, NAME THEM!) He can also sing/talk like a baby or an old, as in very old person, he can make SOUND EFFECTS using his voice and even if he only finished formal Grade 3 (he is studying now), he is a WITTY guy with INSTANT adlibs and punchlines! (A NATURAL COMEDIAN). PLEASE, help him be known internationally, he really DESERVED it. THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS.
hi, there. I do sing too, but I really could not imagine how Marcelito does it though. I just think that he's got a 5-change gear tool in his vocal chord, insanely amazing! I have been through to many UA-cam reactors, analyzers, music reviews and all that to Pomoy's rendition and it's almost all the same commentaries - almost everyone is strangely reacting - on how does one in a split-seconds time, could change gear that quick, fast and in speed and yet maintain the voice in a calm, relax, vivid and in accord with the rhythm and precision style?...what got me most and blew me away is his cover for Bocelli's voice range! that part slowly and stepladderly covering higher and higher notes... that was incredibly fantastic, and it zapped my hair on my limbs and reacted. Well, in the Philippines music arena right now, he's the only one who can do that "perfectly" flawless... bravo! and yes, i am willing to hit that GOLDEN BUZZER 5 times for Marz!! Keep on following it up with the Philippines' Wish 107.5 bus... They keep on greatly getting more talents on board, be it amateur, professionals and elites of yesteryears! jj kepweng Riyadh/JUN mamertomj@gmail.com
this may not be new but to be able to do this takes a lot of dedication and skill to be able to change the level of his voice on point this is pure talent
Liked your reaction guys. The difficulty of what Marcelito is doing lies in the quick switching of voices from one to the other. Please consider reacting to 4th Impact's version of The Prayer. It's just an impromptu performance as it wasn't planned but the harmonies are are just beautiful and moving. The video with the full body shot is found in a channel named Ronald Dalida. I'll post the link on the next comment box so it'd be easier for you to find. Thank you.
You mentioned the missing harmonies a couple of times. You might be interested to know that Marcelito takes this song to yet another level in the release of his album, "Duet Yourself". Because it isn't live but recorded tracks, he includes all of the harmony parts. He sings Bocelli's lead in tenor/baritone and Dion's alto harmonies in countertenor. It is quite beautiful and has a great orchestra accompaniment. Here is a partial list of covers by Marcelito: Celine Dion's "The Power of Love" (His best female imitation in my opinion) Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On" Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You", "I Have Nothing", "One Moment in Time" Loren Allread's "Never Enough" Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean" Celine Dion/Peabo Bryson's "Beauty and the Beast" Kenny Loggins "Forever" Mariah Carey's "Hero" and "Oh Holy Night" Elvis Presley's "Can't Help Falling In Love" Beyonce's "Listen" Steelheart's "She's Gone" Ed Sheeran's "Perfect" Miley Cyrus' "When I Look At You" Luther Vandross "Dance With My Father" Diana Ross/Lionel Richie's "Endless Love" Sarah Brightman/Andrea Bocelli's "Time To Say Goodbye" (He sings in Italian) Teresa Teng "The Moon Represents My Heart" (He sings in Chinese) IL Divo/ Celine Dion's "I Believe In You" (He sings in French and imitates 4 different voices) Luis Fonsi's "Despacito" (He sings in Spanish) Finally, Marcelito sings numerous Filipino songs in his native language, Tagalog.
He is presently 33 yrs old (it's 3/25/2018 now), either late 20s or early 30s when he recorded this. One take. Two languages, neither his native language. Sitting down, no gasping for air, he's the best.
Practice makes perfect. He's good in his falsetto of which he can make it sound like a woman's voice and what is amazing is how he can make the abrupt change. It's God-given talent that he was able to develop and make use to raise and unify his family from years of separation due to poverty.
LOVE you both reaction so positive and delight him singing. THANK YOU very much. this Pilipino trained and polish their skill if they knows their talent.
Kenneth Asidera LoL, what do you think of us. We know when to use the word HIT. Hit the Notes - natumbok/naabot ang nota. Hit - natamaan (accidentally). Etc.
eo chris i'm sorry who are you? When u said "what do you think of us" i am not referring to anybody aside from the owner of the channel, so please the next time you interpret comments should not be out of it's context. Dumb act dude.
Yep I was also think the same thing. Because his high register is like a chest voice for a female singer. But kudos for him to be able to use both type of voice tenor and soprano.
Hi guys, your reactions are wonderful. Since you liked this performance, I'm sure you will like this. Please react to Sam Concepcion on Your face sounds familiar Andrea Bocelli impersonation.
there actually is someone who can harmonize with themselves - Lalah Hathaway.... she can do it for a brief moment; it's called 'polyphonic overtone singing' or dual or double voice... it's amazing....
We will send him to a distant galaxy. He will represent planet earth and his beloved Milkyway Galaxy in this coming Multi Galaxy Singing battle. Pls support him

It's not a yawn, Marcelito purges the female voice out of him afterwards, it's his trademark ending.
he is just simply born with dual grand voices. he won at pilipinas got talent..years ago.
I think the filipino translation for "hit" is "tirahin" in the context, but it sounds sensual so "palo" might be better. Lol
Kenneth Asidera LoL, what do you think of us. We know when to use the word HIT. Hit the Notes - natumbok/naabot ang nota. Hit - natamaan (accidentally). Etc.
