One thing my friends in the states don't understand about kei trucks is that they are supposed to be minimalist. As you point out, all radios in kei trucks are those really cheapo looking AM radios (they now come with FM, but still look the same with the same built in speaker). That's on purpose. The lack of soundproofing is on purpose. They are targeted towards Japanese farmers, and you have not met a conservative until you've met a Japanese farmer. Sure, they could easily put in a fancy audio unit and still sell it at the same price. The reason they don't is because anything fancier is going to be laughed at by their fellow farmers. This minimalist attitude towards function is the key to understanding kei trucks. AC is an acceptable nod toward comfort because Japan can get hotter than hell. It's a luxury that they will bow to, but a fancy audio system? 4WD is necessary when it is necessary, but an automatic transmission? You don't need that! You can pound your way through the gears like everybody else. In other words, don't put on your sunday suit if all you're doing is hauling manure. You'll come across like some city slicker who doesn't know which end of a shovel to push.
I agree with a lot you're saying but now that kei trucks are become more and more popular i gotta hold them to a higher standard if im paying 6k+ lol but thats just my opinion

Wait? With this facelift? This is likely the latest 25-year-old kei truck to be acceptable for import. In our country, we have lots of modern Suzuki Carry's as late as early 2010s

Consider a UTV sound bar instead of a radio and just play music from your phone
Haven't used the radio in my car in probably a year and actively get annoyed when I accidentally bump the power button.
I just got done applying polishing compound, now I am waxing my Carry. The paint is coming back really good.

Round headlights = 4 speed. Unless you get the one with the middle piece that looks like a raccoon then you’ll get 5 speed and round headlights
