Thanks for the reply good to know... I was looking at the Kenwood system which apparently does but on further digging it seems limited and dependent on age/programming of the MFD from vw... Think it's much the same story for the alpine system but the are both some serious spends at least for everything you would want.
@@whatsdavedone104 It did not. But I did find my fix. Its in the sound menu under Navi audio channel, I changed that to unmixed. Sound is stable, bass is back.
Hi Dave do you reckon you could make a video on how to change what your steering wheel buttons do, I would like a pause/play button instead of mute but I couldn't work it out, thanks
Unfortunately there is no way to add pause/play function....this is because its controlled by the cars canbus system 😕 the only function you can change on the steering wheel is the mute (push to talk) button. When you short press you can have it open a certain app (mine is set to open android auto) and long press open Google assist. To change this function you need Carista app
Hi Dave! How do you configure an application such as Android Auto with the PTT button. I have Carista but it only gives me the option of silence (sorry my English)
I can't honestly remember 🙈 I opened carista app, customisation, steering wheel and changed option from mute to push to talk. Pressed button on wheel then it activated an option on the headunit and I selected Android auto....but with the VWA12S that option no longer works but it did with the Q53pro 🤷♂️
Does anyone have problems with incoming calls dropping? I receive a call, I answer the call. About 5-10 seconds later I can no longer hear the person at the other end, they can still hear me though. I have an android connected via wifi. I've been looking, but so far I haven't found a setting for that yet. Thanks!
Absolute piece of junk. The camera that came free with the unit looks to be faulty because I can't get a picture. The unit is wired up correctly but the steering wheel controls don't work. I am getting a signal from the steering wheel but the unit will not recognise it. If I try select a model in factory settings it tells me "app not installed." BUT the BIGGEST letdown is Apple CarPlay. The volume of the native radio is loud enough to be obnoxious but when using CarPlay it is so low as to be useless. I purchased the unit direct from the company. The online "live chat" function always ends up like this "The line is busy right now, please leave your message, we will reply to you asap. Thanks." They do not reply to "support" emails and there is no phone number. My money is lost. Don't loose yours.
OK, First up have you tried contacting them via Facebook messenger? With regards to the reverse camera, how have you wired it and have you changed the setting when reverse camera is on? Tap the screen and a little cog will appear, tap that, probably needs changing to PAL from NTSC.
The speed volume control works as well as the original "Gala" function? thanks

@lukem6797 reverse camera is pretty easy....easier if you have 12v socket in the boot
Also do have any idea how to switch off the reverse camera, I don’t have one yet and it’s slightly annoying. Thanks

Unfortunately it's doesn't 😔 I don't think any aftermarket units have the ability to display track on MFD

Its sort of explained in this video....open carista app, go to customisation, down to seats/steering wheel and change the option
Hi Dave, I have a problem where my screen keeps turning off if the volume is over 17 do you have a fix for that?
This is not an issue I have ever come across....have you checked for firmware updates?

If you unit has a canbus box the steering controls should work straight out the box
It’s amplifier you can raise the decibels -12 to +12

Which one controls the bass?
Bass is controlled via EQ/amplifier app
Any one know how to adjust the Siri volume when I turn it up it just adjusts the stereo volume which I too loud when Siri stops talking?
No sorry, I use android auto and Google assist 🤷♂️....might be a setting on phone rather than head unit
Try adjusting the volume while siri is talking and see if that will set the siri volume
