It's amazing to watch them surfing down the mountain of water and yet still going higher because the mountain is growing faster than they are moving downward. Amazing waves, amazing planet!
I surfed some decades ago in So-Cal but of course nothing even remotely like that. I've taken enough of those face wipeouts to know what it feels like on a comparatively minor scale. The violence that these guys must endure in waves of that size is just unimaginable. I don't know how they survive it. That was an awesome watch!!!........now I'm going back to watch it again....:-D

I used to love really, really big waves when I was a kid. I used to take them on a canvas raft that could keep up with any surfboard and it was wild. But these waves make me sick to my stomach.

NO! I was there in June back in the 80's. (Yes, I'm old) I thought it was just a quiet little fish market village, with beautiful coloured fishing boats. I had no idea it could be like this! Now I need to revisit!

If aliens flew by on their way to more interesting places and had a moment to pitstop and maybe get a sense of how Earthlings live this moment would be one I would want them to see. . .

Intense to watch wipeouts, intense skills 😮😮😮 you’d be foolish to not acknowledge your fears. They wear a type of body armour but yeah, got to be pretty crazy, fit and experienced to do this, and have a lot of confidence in your jetski support to come fish you out after wipe out
@@armwrestlingfan2963 Actually, there have been no deaths from surfing at Nazare as of yet. Some close calls, but no fatalities at this time. There have been a number of deaths in the past in this area of water though, typically fishermen and the like caught off guard by the swells.

@DJ_CodNub It's not a clean wave by any means. Jaws is a clean wave. This is not as close as steep as jaws, which is why you can't paddle in.
