  • For day 28 of "30 For Thirty," the band joins 'Kiko' producer Mitchell Froom for a throwback interview about "Kiko And The Lavender Moon"! Built on an old-fashioned Latin groove, the Cumbia is described by Froom as 'Duke Ellington meets "Three Blind Mice."' Hear what the guys had to say about putting the track together and feel those old-timey vibes.

One of my favorite albums of all time. I named my Golden Retriever Kiko. She passed in 2003 and I bought a mini version of the chair on the album and painted it exactly the same as a little tribute to her. Great song inspired a great name for a great pal. Kiko, is a name that means a lot to me.

This was so important to see about how the music was made. I could watch a full documentary on how they did this.

It took me a good decade to wrap my head around Kiko as an album...I always loved "Reva's house"...but I had to force myself to finish the album by the mid 2000s...now I can hear the album as a masterpiece....
