  • The discrimination against female photographers is unveiled by a world-reknown photographer. Walking us through her personal experience, Jill Greenberg explains the problem of only seeing the world from a man's perspective. Jill Greenberg is a working photographer and director whose work is built on a foundation of the study of drawing and painting, semiotics and art history. Insights gained as a working photographer, when directed back at her gallery work, allows for a deconstruction of the image politics at work in our culture where pictures have become the de facto universal language. Well at least you're giving an opportunity; I came to the realization that I might not ever get an opportunity to shine; no matter how hard I educate myself. I hit the glass ceiling as a hobbyist. I don't want to say it's my skin color, but I know I can handle most of the average photographers in the low end fields.

I am here because I am searching for women photographers. Shocking. I am new to photography and I am shocked it's so male dominated.

Shared. By a Man. But only because she has a Point. And that's a whole new Perspective for everyone..

it should be the norm, not something to be revered for. (Pst- it's not a "whole new perspective"*). *Also, perspective should be lowercase.

Gotta love the metrics she thinks prove her hypothesis. More women graduating from art programs doesn't mean they're good photographers.

Not only is your comment blatantly sexist as you're only suggesting that they wouldn't be good enough to be hired as professional photographers becuase they are women, but it also just doesn't make any sense, obviously these graduates that you're talking about are good enough because they have to be good enough in order to graduate.

You must be feeling the talent you're lacking, the way you're lashing out at people you don't know.

@@BMDSD pointing out the logical fallacies in her self-serving hypothesis is "lashing out".

Do it youself if you think it's important, don't assign the job to people you don't know.
