Since this no longer a spoiler here: If Laudna gets resurrected. Does she return as an undead or a human?
Who's to say it's Laudna and not Delilah?
You guys asking the real questions
She just returns as Laudna but without Delilah suppressing her positive memories. Still undead. She's a hollow one afterall, her original spirit is long gone.
>Matt, putting down his skin colored gloves onto the table
The Table: "W-What are those Matt?"
Matthew: "My gloves"
The Table: "How... long have you been wearing those?"
Matthew: "Since we started playing together."
Travis' face as Matt kills Marishas character made me laugh.
"That man sleeping on the couch tonight..."
He would know
C3 has been no joke. This was ep 33. Up to this point, the M9 were chilling in Nicodranas with Jester's mom.
Tbf C2 had it's moment as well, with the whole Iron Shepherds storyline.
@@paawan3764 which was earlier
Didnt molly die ep 28 lol
@@dominikgose2609 yeah and he stayed dead.... kinda
@@paawan3764 everything in c2 happened slower, there were no certain impending doom with a strict timer attached to it like c3 has. Even Molly's death was more absurd than sad because it stemmed from the team accepting multiple quests at the same time just for money.
Fjord, jester and beau had completed their personal storylines before they even met the drow queen and nott was halfway through hers.
This was the shake up that C3 needed, and I’m so happy that Matt made this bloody carnage happen. 😈
When they showed off that vest for the first time and Matt put it on something changed that night. I saw it before the combat started and immediately blamed it on that vest at the end.
I've had some great times in that vest myself. Wore it to a Sabaton gig, and got a few compliments, and a few wild Critters said hi.
My happiness in it was paid for by their sadness when Matt wore it.
Man, we're on our way to reaching Campaign 1 levels of character carnage
I name you....Mercer the Merciless!!
Remember No Mercy Percy? Meet Matthew Mercer-less.
This, THIS is how a dm should send a message to the players that not every encounter is winnable and death is always possible. If a player is careless let that carelessness be not ownly their downfall but others as well and as a dm, never be afraid to not hold back punches cause in this game we all love and play, no one is truly safe from the grasp of death.
Hah, the first time I saw a DM who wasn't doing everything they could to TPK every single game was on UA-cam.
Literally everyone I know who ever played Tabletop, mostly DnD And World of Darkness, refuses to play anymore.
Where are all these DM's who "Hold back" punches? XD
@@MaxxCoyote If a DM wants a TPK, then he can easily get one. It isn’t difficult when you control the whole world. But finding the right balance between deadly and boring, that can be tricky. Anyway people should remember to do session zero, and talk about expectations.
Late comment from me, but yes, I wish this were a thing more often in campaigns, where you literally might just be unable to win and that's totally fine. Too often DMs will actively be like "Oh yeah you lost? Campaign over." Like it's some video game. I loved watching this whole thing play out and the following trials hoping they can get their friend back. (No spoilers from me! Go watch! :D)
I don't think that was the intention. This was just a series of bad decisions and unlucky rolls. They could've taken Otohan of the rolled about average.
@@paawan3764 No it wasn't the direct intention but it was a message to the players that this was gonna be a rough and hard uphill battle. A dmpc with legendary actions and resistances is more than enough to tell the players silently "This is an extreme threat". It was true they had some bad rolls and such but this was clearly a fight they were not supposed to win at least with ease.
0:42 Ashley and Laura's faces!
Baldur's Gate 3 has brought me here, and I happy for it.
I haven't seen a single episode of critical role but for some reason my mouth was wide open the whole time watching this
The TPK Vest CR is to high!
The community might actually have ptsd if he wears it again 😅
This is great!
"Kinda a reverse Sephiroth situation" makes me incredibly aroused.
🤤
PULLS NO PUNCHES WOOO
Then he revives them 😅
Coming back to this fight after the last with Otohan… she’s always been a TPK machine. Always been smart and fast and perfectly prepared for fights. Only through abject sacrifice and destruction does this group survive encounters with her.
I can’t lie, this episode BROKE ME! But not just for the obvious Laudna MURDER! But also Fearne’s playful damn near child-like “well, it’s been a hell of a run”. That tore me apart man
amazing
So good
Hey here's a nice reminder to you all that this was episode 33.
dude was legit crying at 1:15
@2:31 that moment you get no nookie for killing your girl's character
Hell yes matt
Matt Merciless.
How in the fuck are they all still alive after this!? hahahaha
Can't wait for their final showdown with Otohan. It's gonna be a goddamn bloodbath.
It really was just an echo of this same fight, all over again. This time with a very different ending.
@@OctopusOwl Nasty Otohan!
They needed to call LMSH.
Nice
Matt just wiped out everyone..muahahhahahaha

Rosalia of Titan's Hand--
I haven't watched even half of the episodes from campaign 2 (I'm skipping the first because I want to watch the animated series without spoilers) but still I really got the feeling that Matt was going quite easy with them all the time, which is understandable don't get me wrong but quite unrealistic. I'm glad this campaign is more unforgiving because they keep making the same mistakes, being careless over and over again without realising there is a risk probably partly because their DM has been very kind to them, which kind of makes the campaigns a bit boring to watch.
Afaik they asked to increase difficulty from easy to medium and they got it :)
In the end there was 0 consequence. If anything from this point on C3 has been feeling inconsequential and underwhelming for me. It's like Matt was unforgiving but just for show. Some deaths in C1 and C2 felt much worse.
Yeah no Matt wasn't "going easy" on them for C2. People just like to say that about any campaign that is currently ongoing. Also, C2 imo was much more character focused than C3. Impending doom wasn't the focus of the campaign until the Lucien arc.
TPK! TPK! TPK!
But no I love difficult combat.
This moment is cooler if they stay dead.
To bad that no character stayed dead though
The definition of Total Player Kill
I as a dm of 20+ years, love that the esteemed, glorious, Adonis dm Mr. Mathew mercers most evil, is barely a fraction of what i've done lol.
🙄
want a cookie or something?
That comment makes you look like an asshat lol
But yeah. The majority of Critrole fans have not experienced any other games than "everyone is a superhero DnD5e". There are very lethal games out there were it's not unusual to roll up new characters.
Bro please let go of that ego. You'll be a happier person for it, once you stop trying to grasp at these pitiful attempts at what you perceive as superiority.
@@thehorse5307 bro cut himself on someone else's ego
I was actually happy when they died, but i ghess was just me.
I hate all the characters of this season hopefully they are all gonna make new ones
yikes sucks to be you
I definitely like these characters as a whole a lot less than the ones from other seasons, but saying you hate them and want them all to make new characters is a lil rude, innit? Even when Travis came in with fricken Chetney (a character who, I’ll admit, has had some genuinely entertaining moments that I liked even if I’m not a big fan of him), I wasn’t wishing he would die off.
I actually really liked Laudna and think she’s been Marisha’s best character so far, and though Orym didn’t really stand out much to me, I still liked him and thought he was a good rock of rationality amidst all these misfits. I’ll admit I’m not super big on Fearne and didn’t really like a lot of her chaotic “gotta steal everything and stir shit up” antics, but it looked like Ashley was having a lot of fun with her, which makes me kinda sad for her.
@@nekomancer47 I actually like this batch of characters more than Season 2, interestingly enough. I kind of got tired of Jester's constant chaos shenanigans, Caleb had a compelling story but not one I was entirely invested in, Yasha was barely there for the first half, Beau (at least at first) was incredibly bull headed at times which kind of rubbed me the wrong way, and Fjord had his whole sense of pride and angst at the beginning that also didn't do it for me.
That being said this is ENTIRELY my subjective opinion, and I certainly liked where some of the characters eventually went. Nott and Caduceus IMO were great from day 1, Beau and Yasha really grew on me with time, and Fjord IMO had one of the best character arcs of the season when he severed his connection to Ukatoa. That being said, something about THIS group made me go "Alright! I'm really invested in this group and this story!" that season 2 never quite pulled off for me. So for me I'm really on the edge of me seat waiting to see what happens to these characters.
why are you watching this season then? there are tons of dnd shows that you'd probably like more. critical role takes a lot of time to watch.
its all personal taste, but i've loved all their characters in every season. each season is different which i love, its better then them making something to appease the fans but their hearts are not in it. they don't owe their fans anything after all.
Ill take this over M9 any day. Outside of Fjord and Jester I didnt like any of their characters. Beau was an ok 3rd but she had ups and downs. C3 Ive loved both Travis's characters, Marisha has finally found her footing, Laura's got by far the coolest backstory and powers. The only thing I dont like is Fearn. She's too chaotic for me. Jester was fun chaos that didnt hurt people or put them in bad spots. Fearn is going to get somebody killed.
Nothing can ever touch C1. That's just how it will always be even the early stuff with whats his face still on the show.
