He would be a great coach. The browns need to bring him in a coaching role as either a offensive line assistant or something and try and see what they got. Very intelligent and personable. Just like how the colts brought in Robert Mathis in as a pass rush consultant. Sometimes it might be worth bringing in your former players and see if they have the coaching gene in them.
In all honesty he probably did as much coaching as he did playing with the number of guys that went thru that organization. I'm sure he wanted to get away for a while.
Being a Ravens fan, I loved Joe Thomas, and I always appreciated how he always came to work everyday and compete like a great player he was. Sad that he was on the Browns? Sure. Not sad that he got to show us want an awesome athlete and player and teammate he was. Reminds me of Ogden
My son played with JT at Brookfield High. Knew him as a very young man and he deserves everything he's got without question. Super nice man and tough as nails....Glad I got to see him as a Badger as well.
I used to play basketball against him and I am best friends with someone from Brookfield Central. It was without a doubt the most unfair basketball league ever, because everyone knew the Brookfield Magic was winning and everyone else was competing for 2nd, lol.
athletes like Joe and Pat are so likable because 1)they don't take themselves too serious 2)they love life beyond the game 3)and they have personalities.
I'm a die hard Browns fan and Joe is one of my all-time favorite players and I wish we could've just gotten him into the playoffs at least a couple times. I wouldn't have had any animosity towards him if he would've left, but so glad he didn't. Thanks for everything Joe!
Greaat interview by Pat and also Joe's thoughtfulness and truthfulness are great! I have gotten away from football thanks to the Capernecke crap but hell Pat is bringing me back
I had no idea he owns Mission BBQ! One opened up down the street from me a year or two ago and I've refused to try it just because they replaced an awesome Greek restaurant but I'll give it a shot now
So many talented offenses with shitty olines, and this guy spends all his career with the Browns. You gotta give it to Browns fans tho, one of the NFL's finest. They love their players and they definitely love their team. Cheers!
Going through watching old episodes. First, great content and thank you for helping me to fill in the blank space while I work nights. Second, as a Saints fan (we all know how this has turned out) thank you Pat and Joe for throwing some love to our team. Another wtf ending to our season but hopefully the front office can keep the band together and make another run at it next year. Probably should avoid wearing any white/black striped shirts in NO's for the foreseeable future. Best of luck and continued success to yall and your support team.
Back in Madden12 I loved playing my franchise with the Browns. I traded for Ingle Martin in Green Bay and he became my franchise hall of fame QB but my favorite formation was SingleBack Big with Joe Thomas as Left TE. I drafted a LT in the second round who became a gem that I would put the rookie in on a six O-Line package about 15-25 plays per game over several seasons and it was very common for me to always audible every pass play Thomas was in for to be a pass blocker but my running game was dangerous in this and my pass blocking was better than spectacular as well. I managed to throw only two or three balls to Joe but this was over many seasons that I played and Joe was my favorite player of my entire roster and the only original Brown that I kept because he let me stay in the pocket or scramble and having two kick ass LT's on at the same time, the "D" couldn't get me.
Watching this now and hearing how the Saints had a tough loss against the Vikings, crazy how they had history repeat itself and had another heartbreaker vs the Rams this past year
Pohorex well your a fool what can I say... anyone who believes a sports athlete DESERVES millions of dollars has no concept of money or worth. These guys are shallow self centered nobodies. While you sit all comfortably texting real hero’s who deserve millions defend you from harm. And get peanuts for their effort. That’s why your all fucked up. Shame on you.

So it's funny to me as the years go by to just look correct there like he was fucking amazing.
I wanna see an hour conversation about anything between Pat McAfee and Bill Burr (stand up comedian for those unfamiliar - he's hilarious, check him out)
Two men who knew when it was time to go physically. It helped that they both are going to make more in media than football. They both have undeniable talent in the media.

If you look at his career he could easily be considered one of the best LTs of all time. Dude never missed a snap until his final season, was an all pro from his rookie season onward, allowed the least amount of sacks during that time period. Damn man... Thomas was an utter beast. Probably the most obvious first ballot 100% HOF player I have seen in a long time. Sucks we wasted his career with morons like Jackson at the helm. How amazing would it be if Thomas was still playing at that level with this current team. Talk about the best offensive line in history.
I'm a Steelers fan and I feel bad for this guy.. so much talent and so reliable it's a shame that he was punished by spending his whole career withering away in a cheap circus of an NFL team..

Hey Joe, the Browns could use you to just show up on this Sunday vs Baltimoe. Unbelievable that during all those years I watched a team that had a pretty solid O-line and a lot of mediocre other players it's exactly opposite now. At least tell me the Browns have asked you to come in and try to help these guys with technique. Good luck out there Joe. Maybe try being a used car dealer too. It has it's moments.
He's talked about how he noticed he was losing a step against rookies and I feel like he was mentally worn down. I think he'd played up the not missing a snap in his own mind and finally missing a snap was sort of a relief.
I disagree on the best in the world and please hear me out. If he was the in the world, as good as he is and time he spent there they should have had the best O-Line in the league.
