One of my cousins had this exact car I thought it was the most beautiful thing I ever seen when I first saw it it was in the summertime of either 78 or 79 I was a kid and I remember the Lincoln Mark 5 and Mark's series with the flip of lights they were so Grand and elegant I can't tell if this one has the courtesy light at the fender they rode like a dream back then and my other cousin had the one that looked like it was champagne with the rose it was like almost a reddish pink I've never seen another one I can't find it her parents bought it for her graduation present I think 1978 or 79 so many moons have passed since then these cars with spectacular this was the prettiest Thunderbird that they could have ever made they faded away so quickly I see some of them sometimes every blue moon in salvage yards and different places if we had these babies today what would the parking spaces look like with all the Hyundai and Nissans and Toyotas and everything else on the road the cars of today will never have the rides of these ever as long as the world is here they were like guarded tanks on the highway but just beautiful❤ 28,000 wow I don't think they cost that much back in the day I can remember seeing them on car lots different places brand new as a kid they just faded into the past❤ the car right there is completely gorgeous I don't know who the original owner was but they took really good care of it you don't see the ladies with that big hair behind the steering wheels anymore broiling down the road😂😂😂😂😂😂 they were exquisite❤
In 1978 I was at the visitors center for Ford Motor Company just prior to the tour of the River Rouge plant. An identical Thunderbird to this was one of the vehicles on display.
I had that exact car brand new in 1978. It was a lemon, The carburetor was bad and the dealer couldn't find a new one, had to put in another type of carburetor that never worked well, and then the transmission went out, same story they couldn't get the parts. I did however enjoy driving it.
Gorgeous T-Bird. I always thought a reskinned version of this car should have been the Mark VI with updated drivetrain and electronic dash rather than the brick shaped car (which was perfect for the Town Car) they gave us.
I know what Joe is going through I had my first heart attack when I was 38 years old I had my second heart attack at the age 49 years old I am now 52 years old and I am on the heart transplant list Joe get better quick and I hope your car does well it's a beautiful beautiful car
Hello Paisano this is a sad story for the man who purchased this car I am sorry to hear about his healt issue, I hope someone who loves this car is generous when bidding to compensate him for never seeing his dream car in person let alone drive it! This is why I told my wife I have my 78 Eldorado Biarritz and my 1978 Lincoln Mark V my dream cars ,if I got sick tomorrow or God forbid pass away I had my joy with these remarkable classic cars . All the best to your client hope his health improves prays for him.
Damn! What a beautiful T-Bird! So sorry to hear that 'Joe' won't be able to enjoy it, but most importantly, I wish him a return to better health. Hopefully someone watching this video would be willing to step up and purchase it, at a fair price, from Competition Cars Myrtle Beach. Good luck! Edit: Bill, you are right about getting older and having health issues. Have you ever noticed that the older you get, the further back in the drug store you go? 😁
It is! I too am hoping to get Joe all his money back. He is such a good guy that he wanted to pay me to sell it. I said NO WAY!! I feel so bad he cannot keep it. We can't take it with us.
I'm 21 and currently, I'm from India and working hard to buy my first classic car before the age of 25, you're definitely going to be the first person I'm gonna contact...Hopefully, you ship to places like Dubai or Thailand.
I personally want to wish you luck. I have more experience with having cars shipped than I care to have. But you personally would make all the arrangements. Including, not only with an automotive transport, but with overseas cargo transport. Save your coins my friend
Collector Cars don't wear out from occasional driving. They wear out from standing outside in the sun, nighttime dews & rain, then sitting. That's what ages them. I'm sorry that beautiful Thunderbird was dinged while in your care. Someone wasn't exercising care around it 😮
Good afternoon Bill, just a random thought I had. Would it be feasible to give the older gentleman the money you got from Bring a trailer, then just relist the car as a fresh listing? I don't have a business mindset, so I know Bat does take their cut. Could you, or could this not be workable? I just feel badly for this guy.
You ever heard of an accident?? Someone must have bumped it with something. And why is "never left your shop" in quotes? And I didn't LET anything hit it. Do you think for a second if I could have seen and stopped it I would have? All the good you could have said, you chose a stupid remark.
@@christianbugatticg Oh thanks for clearing that up DA. I was thinking someone did it on purpose. “Never left your shop” means it was in your care, custody, and control. So, you are responsible. Fix it correctly, or get your damn checkbook out and write the poor guy a check. You’ll be lucky if it sells for the amount he paid for it…undamaged.
@@ShadeIsLikely Well technically the cars are supposed to be picked up in a timely manner. He decided to leave it behind for months and it was on his insurance. I discussed it with him and he was perfectly fine with that small ding. Then he gets sick and decides I need to help him sell it, which I am not taking a dime for. Relax, will ya?? And I didn't control what it sold for the first time around, nor do I have control over what it sells for now.

Good Man.
It was just the right thing to do.
These were super nice cars with this package
Oh for sure!
Very nice of you to sell this car for this guy. Good luck with the auction
Yeah, I feel so bad for Joe.
Cool.
A less expensive choice at the time for a Mark V.
Yes!
Praying for Joe and that he gets all his money back. 🙏🙏🙏
Thank you so much!

That is one beautiful car and I wish I had a car like that I wish I had the money to buy that car I don't have the money where you located at.
It's ok, we are in South Carolina.

True. Sure wish it didn't happen
Look at the blind spot !
There is no blind spot in the car when you are sitting in it.

So I am re-running it, the auction ends in about an hour and he will get every dime of what it sells for. Thanks for that input!
@@christianbugatticg gotcha. You're welcome. I know us car guys definitely do stick together! Enjoy your weekend!
Mmmmm....Vista Cruiser-
Please buy it I need to sell it! lol
Why is it that I never see your cars on bring a trailer
You must be searching something wrong.
bringatrailer.com/member/competitioncars/
Copy paste this and you'll get to see all of his cars.
Hey not sure why. You can subscribe and will get a notification.
@@Jack_the_rider Thanks!!!!!
What the hell did y’all let hit the door? Since it “never left your shop” you need to be repairing that correctly.
