Lyrical interpretation: as someone with lifelong depression/anxiety, these lyrics really clicked for me. After analyzing it a bit my GF and I decided it is about a depressive person wishing for a needing someone to love but being afraid of dragging them down with you and damaging them in the process. Being in a relationship with someone who has a chronic mental illness takes a lot courage, patience, understanding and fortitude.
I came away with a different interpretation... (shows how lyrics can resonate differently for different people). I took it as someone describing the feeling of being in an abusive relationship and how they are justifying staying. But I can still see your point as well. At least we can both agree Spiritbox is good!

That's disappointing. It's a great sounding song but if it's based off of that dumpster fire, it takes the song down a few pegs.

Nice shout out to Time, The Valuator. I didn't put that together with this band but l can hear it. My thoughts on this band is that they sounds a bit like Dayseeker. The Jinjer comparison they seem to constantly get is lazy af coz they're completely different bands.
I believe the bassist uses a Dingwall Combustion.

Its progressive metal. But anyways still a 10/10 song.

Roguenjosh progressive metal is the best genre dude, dig in and your mind will be blown.
I don't wanna be "that guy", but if you think this is progressive metal, you probably don't listen to much of it. This is far too stripped-down to be a progressive metal song. This is essentially a rock song with a thicker low end and a killer breakdown in the middle. That doesn't mean it's bad, but it certainly isn't progressive metal.
The Ocean, older Opeth, Gojira, Mastodon, Meshuggah, and Leprous are all examples of some form of progressive metal. There are plenty of examples, those are just the ones I picked.
@@richardsinclair7661 progressive metal is my go to genre. Been listening to it for years. Im not sure if you have listened to this band enough or not but they identify as progressive metal\metalcore.
So I didn't like *this* song, but thank you for letting me know I've been missing out on Time, The Valuator. Hadn't heard of them, but they seem great so far.
