- Did We Bite Off More Than We Could Chew? EVO Killer 7th Gen Civic Part 2
By Aaron Gaghagen and Brian Gillespie
Project EVO Killer is in full swing. So why aren't we out hunting the defunct Mitsubishi AWD? Well, there's a few reasons. First, we need to get a dyno tune to get the best out of our K24 supercharged swap. That can't happen until we sort out the issue with it dying. While we're doing that we need to sort out the electric power steering and install our flex fuel sensor to run E85. After that we will hit the dyno and go for a rip. There's no way our ES1 Civic will fight us, right?

Truely the bob ross of hondas. Always love your work!
Thanks for watching. This project is for sure a journey!.
Just got my k24 fired up!!! Thanks for everything you guys do!!!
Definitely bringing me nostalgia , i Had the same exact car (04 es2 ), ended up doing the 05-06 k20z1 rsx engine /dash with complete harness swap that way everything worked perfectly (except abs) everyone called it the 4 door RSX haha
It basically is!
Ugh. I miss my K20/24 JRSC 01 4-Door Civic with RSX type S Suspension.
I wonder where it is now? This Video takes me back to 2010.
I bet that thing still gets it done.
Good stuff, ready for part 3
We’re gonna get this figured out one way or another. The real struggle will be finding an EVO to run against.
FIRE!!! Great INFO!!! As always another great video
Dr Charles tuned my integra gsr turbo back in 2003-ish at Area 51 in OC
Awesome!
Always interesting guys, thank you
Glad you liked it! We’re gonna get this freaking thing sorted eventually.
🎉 always on it helping people get their cars running ;) 🏃♂️
the "crazy knock" gives me anxiety haha, like someone threw a marble into the combustion chamber rattle.
Lol keep working on it ... 😂 500 hp evo 8 here on pump stock bottom end stock turbo...
We’re flattered that you think you need 500hp and AWD to get with this!
Hi Brian big fan, I have a rsx with a k24a2+ep3 spec jrsc. My car made 316whp/220tq with a k24z cp+3.6boost pulley on e85. Your hp looks like mine right before VTEC kicks in. There's definitely something going on with your VTEC not working properly. Also for the jrsc you can modify a stock tensioner to work so you don't have to run the crappy jrsc manual tensioner. Feel free check out my videos and message me if you have any questions.
We’ll check out your videos, thanks!
Btw the honda fit battery(half size smaller)151R fits and starts up the k series no problem.
Yup!
Lake Dino says some progress is better than no progress
nice evo killer
It’s a work in progress 😆
sounds exciting
Any comments on the CRZ with a K engine ?
Yes, they’re great!
Hi brian i have a 2017 acura tlx with the k24w7 2.4 i want i little more horsepower do you think this engine is able to hold 8 psi from a procharger and not blow up, i dont ever see people throwing boost at this engines
If it were a A or Z K24 I’d say no problem. I don’t have any experience e with the W motors. Their big drawback is direct injection. I’m not sure if the fuel demands can be met with that system.
@@VTECAcademy thank you brother
I’m doing a k24 swap on my civic hybrid, and was considering putting an ep3 or possibly 04-05 RSX type s. Since the later type s models use a CSS would I be able to avoid vss conversion
You can get either way to work. Did you see the feature on our friend’s K24 turbo Hybrid Civic? It’s such a sleeper.
@ yeah! It was awesome. I think I’m going to take the route he did with the ex cluster
Man I would love to work with you guys on a project sometime.
Hi. Where can I find your shop. Than you
Had a EU1 😂😂😂 with a bad EPS Box, my lord it was like turning a fully loaded semi truck with no power steering.
Ahhh, so true.
Did you have to run a return fuel line ?
No, it’s a dead end fuel system.
@VTECAcademy ok boss nuff respect from Jamaica 🇯🇲
I have Honda crx head lights and tail lights and mirrors for sale. Mint condition
Cars are pain😂😂😂
💯
MICHU BEESHIE?
Im guessing there's a boost leak too
We’re gonna find out once we get VTEC working for sure.
How is it that you're using an AUTOMATIC ecu? I thought only PRB, PND, PNF ecu's were companiable with kpro. I've been wrong this whole time?
I used a auto ecu with my Kpro it’s just like the other ecu that kpro is compatible with. But i don’t have a reverse lock out
Actually he explained this when they got the ECU from the junkyard in a different video, it's because it's kind of a unicorn ECU -- The automatic 2005 Accord ECU that came with the K24 he said it's the only auto compatible with Kpro
Where did you get the ep3 JRSC from?
Knowing Brian, probably Oscar Jackson.
🥇🥇🏆
Cut a hole in the hood make a real air intake
Go turbo and ditch the supercharger
Maybe if we run a modified EVO.
